Indigo had watched the byplay as he tucked into his ice cream, but he set down his spoon to get all his ducks in a row. "So what year are you guys going into?" he asked, dumping the toys back into his bag. He left the flap open and set it on the floor next to him. He'd have guessed third year looking at them from across the room, but up close they didn't look that young. Of course, it was hard to tell with the costumes they were wearing.

"We're in the fifth year, we even have the same birthday," Mari said. He reached over to his netbook and picked absently at a peeling sticker. "It's just before Christmas. What about you?" As far as he knew, Indigo went to Hogwarts, but he had only vague ideas about how old the guy was. He kind of hoped Indigo was their age, though he seriously doubted it.

"I'm in sixth year," Indigo said. He was happy to find out that they weren't stalking him or something, since it said right next to his picture that he was a 6th Year Gryffindor. "So you guys haven't been sorted yet." That was something to think about. "Do you know much about the Houses? I know not all schools do it that way."

Castiel glanced aside at Marius, but knew he was the more studious of them. He looked over at Indigo, then down at the table, finally reaching for the magazine to flip idly through it. "We know the Headmaster was a Slytherin," he said, "and that You-Know-Who was a Slytherin." His mom had always called him You-Know-Who, anyway. And maybe, just maybe, he'd opened up Hogwarts: A History. He wouldn't admit to it, though.

"The Blackwood-Hardts are Slytherin and Gryffindor," Mari said. The pair was probably the most famous couple right now, considering the lengthy relationship and all the gossip that surrounded them. "I don't know much about the houses, though. I guess Slytherin is, like, the bad house, if You-Know-Who was in it." Past that he didn't know, most of his knowledge was about the other side of the world.

"Not bad," Indigo said. "They're supposed to be ambitious, so they get a lot of people who don't care what it takes to get ahead, and a lot of Purebloods. There are some jerks, but there are jerks in all the Houses." There were just more in Slytherin.

"Michael was in Slytherin," Castiel said knowledgeably. He glanced up, then immediately back down into his magazine. He couldn't believe that Michael Blackwood-Hardt was going to be teaching him Defense Against the Dark Arts! He would pay perfect attention and get everything right, and Michael would be so impressed...

Mari nodded. "Do the professors here hang out with the students? Okay, maybe not hang out, but like can you go talk to them and stuff?" There had been a couple teachers like that at their old school. "I mean, I don't know how separated everything is here, between houses or professors and students or whatever."

Indigo looked between the two. Maybe they weren't stalking him, but it looked like they were big fans of the professors. It had taken him a moment to pair Michael with Blackwood-Hardt, but then, he only skimmed the magazine. He didn't carry it with him at all times.
"You can catch them during office hours," he offered. They weren't kept in glass cases, but they didn't sit around trading stories with students on the lawns. Indigo knew that the Transfiguration professor walked a lot with his dog, but that was about it.

"I'm way too excited about going to Hogwarts. I mean, it's Hogwarts, you know?" Mari said. Yes, he tended to bounce topics, but he rarely gave it thought. "I heard muggle stuff doesn't work at all there, though. Some of it works in some places at my old school, but I heard that, since Hogwarts is so much bigger and older and stuff nothing works."

"Nothing works," Indigo confirmed. "But if you can get to Hogsmeade, you can pick up signals in a few places. The book store has electricity, they have a generator and a satellite modem and everything, so you can go there." He preferred the usual quiet of the ice cream shop, and talking gaming and electronics with Rhys, but he didn't know how safe it was to give these guys more information than they already had.

Castiel's brows rose a bit, and he shuffled through a few pages until he got to the right ad. Then he set it down on the table and pointed. "This one?" he asked. He usually skipped ads because they were boring, but this one happened to be across from Markise, who was gorgeous. "Oh, look..." Electricity & the Only Wi-Fi in Hogsmeade!

"Oh, well that's good. I think I would probably die without internet access," Mari said. He also didn't know how easy it was to get off campus, but if there were advertisements maybe it was relatively easy. "Too bad Cauldron doesn't have a website, that'd be kind of cool, a wizard only site." Maybe there were already wizard only sites, and they just didn't know about them.

Indigo's eyes sharpened at that, and he looked across at Marius, thinking about how much to tell him. There wasn't a Worldwide Wiz Web or anything, but there were a few really secret, really hard to get into sites that catered to Halfbloods and Muggle-borns.
He didn't know these guys well enough to let them in, though. If they couldn't keep their mouths closed, he'd get kicked out, too. He took a large bite of ice cream to give himself time to think, then made a decision. "Do you have a Facebook?" he asked, glancing pointedly at the netbook.

"Yeah," Mari said, nodding. "And I made him get one, too." He nudged Castiel again, smiling. "I've got a lot of family on it, but there's some people from school, too." Not many, but it definitely seemed like the other students their age were more in tune with the muggle world, and the ones younger than them even more so. He looked over toward Indigo's bag curiously, where he caught a glimpse of what had to be a computer.
