Celyn looked at him and for a moment her eyes betrayed her response. No, she didn't know her way around that well. "More or less, but that's what makes it fun." she tilted her head in the direction of the dark narrow alley; walking on and stopping just at the edge. Looking back she urged him to follow; there wasn't much to be afraid of.

Jory eyed the alley as he followed her, unsure of what to expect. When he was beside her at the edge, he stared into the dark. "So we're going into a dark, scary alley that we don't know our way around?" he asked, then raised an eyebrow over at Celyn. He didn't know what was down there, so maybe she was right. Maybe it would be fun.

Celyn turned around and dramatically placed her hands on her hips. "It's not as bad as it sounds!" [/b] she teased lightly. Celyn stepped in, away from the light, away from safety, away from comfort. As she walked on her footsteps echoed finger gently tracing the stone wall. The large sign indicating that they were in Knockturn Alley territory hovered, mold growing as the wood was seemingly falling apart. There were sounds, the many voices, hurried whispers. "This is your last chance to back down." [/b] her voice was low. She eyed him; all traces of her teasing look had gone and her face was more serious. She wasn’t going to take someone who was going to have a change of heart suddenly.[/blockquote]

Jory stared at the rickety sign for more than a few moments before he shook his head. "I'll go," he said, then came up beside Celyn again. "Lead the way." He would go, but he definitely wasn't going to go in first. He wasn't going to back down now, he felt like he had already committed to going into the dark, foreboding alley with Celyn.

Satisfied, she ventured on. Her movement was casual, as if she was a familiar to the place. At the same time there was caution. Over cautious movement could result in the commoners sniffing them out. Celyn turned to Jory and winked; it may be his first time here, but he had to play along and act casual.
The whispers grew and before long the hushed whispers had faces. Hags dressed in tattered robes littered the streets, crazed men walked by their eyes betrayed looks of a trance-like state. Then there were the higher up purebloods that walked to stores with their heads held high. The wizarding war was over, but that did not mean purebloods felt any less inclined to act snobby. 'Child, would you like a bite to eat?' A woman's voice came from her left. There was a tinier alley, branching off away from the main stores. "Save it for yourself." it was stupid to reply, but Celyn wasn't the type to shut up.
Turning to Jory once more she urged for him to stay close to her, if they got separated then they were both screwed. She was more aware of the wand up her sleeve now than she was a few seconds ago.

Jory pulled up closer to Celyn than he probably should have, and tried not to make eye contact with the hags and other questionable characters. "Tell me again how this is fun," he said, raising an eyebrow at her. Then, quieter, with his eyes wide as he glanced over at a woman at a corner, "Is she wearing a cat on her head?"

Celyn turned to look at him; he was very close; Celyn remained unfazed. "Wait till the adrenaline get's pumping." [/b] her eyes followed his and she spotted the women. At first she too thought it was a cat, but upon closer inspection she realized it was a Jarvey and a dead one too. She walked over towards the women, turning to Jory and grinned, but as she turned towards the women it was gone and instead there was a serious and 'superior' look on her face. "How much do you want for that?"[/b] Celyns voice was low only Jory and the women would hear. The demented looking women turned to look at her eyes wide and wild. 'What do you have to offer?' the women poked Celyn in the side. Holding back a flinch she grabbed the women finger. "Respect your superiors! I do not want to have this man pull his wand on you." her voie a hiss. Celyn prayed that he would play along.[/blockquote]

Jory wasn't at all sure what Celyn's plan was, but he did not like the feeling he got from what was being said. The woman hadn't done anything, it seemed as though there was probably something wrong with her. He wondered vaguely what it was, but he had nothing to go on. He didn't want to be involved, and so he stayed back from Celyn.

Jory was being quiet she turned her head to look at him, her hand snapping out and grabbing his wrist. She had already warned him, there was no turning back. 'Yes yes my lady.' the women recognized the authoritative voice; they were safe. "Now name your price." [/b] Celyn's finger tightened around Jory's wrist and then she let go almost like she was warning him from running away. '100 galleons.' the women twitched as she spoke, pulling down the beast from her head and sticking it in front of Celyn. "It's not alive. I'll pay only half the price." the lady nodded her head and Celyn dug in her robes getting a little pouch, taking longer than was necessary. Pulling out the 'money' she handed it to the lady, pulling out her wand she tapped the pouch and it grew. Holding it out the women dumped the Jarvey in the pouch and Celyn turned to walk away, grabbing onto Jory;s wrist and tugging him along. "Don't look back." she whispered to him. Celyn wanted to head deeper in, before the women realized that Celyn had given her fake coins.[/blockquote]

Jory shook his head and couldn't resist a glance back. He pulled his wrist from Celyn's grasp. "Why'd you do that?" he asked when he looked back at Celyn. He couldn't see any reason for it, and he wondered if she even had one. Whatever it was, Jory felt uneasy with the short encounter. It didn't make any sense to want some dead animal.

Celyn didn't want to admit it; she cradled the enlarged pouch in one arm. "It's cruelty. I think such a beast deserves to be buried, not rotting away on the head of a hag." when he glanced bag she tugged him forward faster. They needed to get out of this place or away as possible. However, her train of thought was cut short by the screeching sound of the woman's voice behind them. 'GET THOSE KIDS! BLOOD-TRAITORS! LIARS! THEY ARE NOT ONE OF US!' Celyn looked back, looks like her charm didn't last as long as she thought. "We need to get the f~ out of here." she barely realized that she swore, Celyn picked up her pace as those around realized what was going on. Celyn began to run, urging Jory to follow. The Jarvey still cradled in her arms. Celyn wasn't sure where they were nor where she was headed, the bottom line was to get as far away from these people as possible.

Jory barely had a moment to feel bad about truly hating what Celyn had done before there was yelling and he found his feet running after her. Maybe it was a mistake to come here after all. Whether or not it was a mistake, right now he needed to follow Celyn, so he ran after her. He hoped they wouldn't get caught.

Her legs were pumping, she was trying to go as fast as she possibly could. Pulling out her wand she tried to think up the best distraction she muttered and incantation and from her wand erupted smoke. It filled the area, covering herself and Jory and the huge crowd behind them. Celyn grabbed him once more from his wrist guiding him to the left. Celyn heart was racing and her blood was pumping, her chest was rising and falling. Stopping just outside the smoke she continued deeper in the very narrow alley she seemed to come to.

Where were they running to? It felt like even Celyn didn't know the answer to that question. All Jory could do was follow, and then she stopped. Well, at least, she slowed down only to continue down the area they had come upon. "Where are we now?" Jory asked through quick breaths. He couldn't even see anything he recognized.

Celyn continued farther in. Feeling like they were far enough, she leaned against the wall and shut her eyes, she hadn't run like that in ages. "Safe from those lunatics." she opened her eyes after muttering her answer and pushed off the wall, bringing the dead Jarvey in front of her and cradling it with both arms. "Poor thing was probably tortured." this was a side of her she didn't show people, but that was because she didn't surround herself with many. Celyn waited till her breath was steadier. "We need to keep moving." [/b] pulling her wand out she muttered 'point me' and her wand pointed North. "From what I know, the exit is North West from here, so if we continue on that path..."[/b] she pointed with her chin. "...and then go left we should be back in Diagon Alley. Let's go!" bringing the Jarvey closer to her chest with one arm while her wand balanced in the other; Celyn began her walk in the direction she described, this time she walked slower and more cautious than before.[/blockquote]
