"I don't...care," Jory said, thinking over his words carefully before he spoke them. "But that doesn't mean it doesn't hurt." It was hard not to let it bother him when he heard it every day. Being hurt by it and caring about it were different, weren't they? Even besides that, it was impossible to survive when he had no one. People were meant to be social, and even though he had kept to himself at his old school, he hadn't been hated.

It was a common misconception, to be bothered by something always meant it was worth dwelling on, was that not a way of caring about something. "To be affected emotionally means you care enough even if it's a minuscule amount." [/b] Celyn was a loner, but by choice. Recently she had changed though, she felt like it would be good to have a good number of friends, and it all just ended with Silver. Perhaps it was best this way, it was best that her relationship with Silver ended the way it did, her personality clashed so greatly with his that she was thankful it didn't go any farther than it did.[/blockquote]

"It's not something I can control," Jory said. "And even the people that I consider friends, or that are nice, they just end up saying things to me." Then he closed his eyes and shook his head. He shouldn't be telling this girl all of this. "Sorry, don't...just ignore me. I'm Jory." Maybe they could talk about issues, later. They should talk about something else first, actually get to know each other, maybe then she wouldn't freak out and leave.

Celyn shrugged, there were those who believed you had no control over your emotions or how you felt, but that was the main source of problem. Everyone was so busy allowing feelings to run their lives they didn't realize that it should work the other way around. "It's alright, I really don't mind." Celyn was the last person who'd get pissy over someone talking, she walked into this willingly if she wasn't interested she could have easily walked away, but she didn't want to. "I'm Celyn, it's nice to meet you Jory." Celyn looked at him carefully trying to see if she recognized him, his face was somewhat familiar, probably passed him by in the hall or something, and he wasn't hard to spot.

"It's nice to meet you, too," Jory said, allowing himself a small smile. "You go to Hogwarts, right? Have you always gone there?" He figured it was safe to assume she went to school the same as him. Besides, if they could talk about something else, if only to get his mind off of what happened each day at the school, it would help tremendously in so many ways.

His smile was pleasant and he seemed so easy to talk to. "I do, I've been in Hogwarts for just as long as I've been here in Europe, since first year, 6 years ago." she pretty much knew everything there was to know about Hogwarts, all hidden passages, it's secrets, the stuff that had happened ages ago that seemed forgotten now; she was here for all of it. "And you? If you were here for that long I would have immediately recognized your face." he wasn't always here, she could tell easily. Even if he wasn't in her year, she would have at least seen him around or in the Great Hall.

"I just came here at the beginning of last term," Jory said. "I went to MI near London before." He hadn't had friends there, but owls to friends from home and the general ease between him and the rest of the kids in the school had made it much more bearable than his current situation. "I like the grounds at Hogwarts better, though."

He liked the grounds at Hogwarts better not necessarily the School as a whole, but she wouldn't ask. He was like a tortured soul and while on usual terms such would disgust her, she actually felt for this guy. "I guess that's why I can barely recognize you, probably amongst the new students that seem to coming to this school." so many had left, and yet so many had come it was hard keeping track of who was who and being the isolated person she was, she never really paid much attention to the new students. "One second the school is bland and quiet and then there's an explosion of students." of course then it returned to the bland, it was a cycle even professors seemed to be taking advantage of the situation by barely giving proper classes. Some Ravenclaws had taken the initiative of teaching themselves and competing to see who will learn more. The losers...

"It was quiet last semester," Jory said. "I like it like that. When there's too much new stuff it gets confusing." He liked it when everything was quiet and he could concentrate. It was easy when he could tell what was going to happen and keep to himself. "But I've never been around a lot of excitement and stuff, so who knows, maybe I'm a city boy waiting to happen." He managed another smile and shrugged.

It was quiet, but for her it was always quiet, she was good at avoiding all the drama and the only time she heard about it was from the giggling girls in the common room. "Sometimes you need the place to be a bit chaotic, just for the sheer amusement factor." on many occasions did she see guys fighting in the halls and she would be lying if she didn't find it amusing. Then again, anything she would deem 'stupid' was amusing to her. "I think it's the quiet ones that you need to look out for." was she amongst those quiet ones? No, she never wanted to be in those kinds of situations.

Jory shrugged, "I don't know, the quiet ones stay to themselves." It meant less trouble. "But sometimes the quiet ones are the ones that wanna be able to have fun and let loose." He loved when he could hang out and be around Layne and just be how he wanted to be. He didn't get to do it very much, especially since he hadn't seen her much, well....at all lately.

He had hit the spot with that one. It was the quiet ones who wanted to let loose and only ever did this when isolated. "How would you classify yourself? A quiet one wanting to have fun and let loose?" [/color] Celyn was only slightly teasing, but she was still somewhat curious. Celyn herself ventured Hogsmead and London on her own, but she always managed to have some fun even if it meant annoying a few people along the way, they'd forget eventually. "The problem with this place is that everyone in Diagon Alley is just boring. The fun lies over there."[/b] she pointed in the direction of Knockturn Alley. The first time she had been there was when she was 12, she had wandered away from her parents. When her parents found her in Knockturn Alley she was in the middle of a heated discussion with a heavily robed wizard. Till this moment she couldn't quite remember what they had been discussing but she remembered it was something interesting.[/blockquote]

Jory rarely considered himself one of those people, but during his brief times with Layne and Markise he had found himself wanting to do more stuff. He didn't find the time to answer before Celyn continued. "Really? I've never been there. Well, I've only come to Diagon Alley a few times before I moved to Hogwarts, so yeah." So he hadn't had the chance to go to Knockturn alley, even if he had wanted to.

"The aura there is different. You can sense the dementia, but some of the people there are kinda cool." It had been a while since she visited the place, it wasn't the safest for people to go to, but it wasn't dangerous either, just intimidating. "Would you like to go?" she turned her body in the direction of the place, all those who warned her away from Knockturn Alley were unaware of the fun they were missing. Yes it was different and more 'dangerous', but no one would dare harm you there unless they wanted a one way ticket to Azkaban.

Jory looked toward the other alley, his eyes narrowing at it with at least a little curiosity. "I guess so. You know your way around, right?" he asked when he looked back at Celyn. He didn't know of anything bad that could happen by going down there, especially since he wouldn't be alone. It would at least be something to do.
