"My dad might, but mum's always been cool with about anything I want to do. She was with me with my first piercings and when I got my tattoo. She doesn't know about like, my tongue or belly button, though," Jory said. "How hard is it to gauge? None of mine are bigger than the 14 they were pierced with, but once I get through my list I might look into it." His ear piercings were smaller, likely 16s, but the others were a bit larger.

"Small gauges are easy," Indigo said. He was fine describing the process and answering questions, and for a while he was in his element enough that he forgot to be awkward or insecure. Still, he had a tentative chuckle, even when finishing a story with a broad grin. "Yeah, my mom was pissed when she found out I'd gotten my navel pierced. I swear, sometimes I think she's really a witch after all, and does Divination on the side."

"Mums are like that," Jory said, grinning. "You know, I've never met a straight guy with his belly button pierced." Not that he talked to many straight guys long enough to find out if they had that particular piercing. It just didn't seem...manly enough or something, he figured. He mentally shrugged, he thought they were pretty hot.

"Yeah, but all that gender stuff's lame," Indigo said. "They're hot, so I got one." At this rate, he was probably never going to get to mess with a girl's, so why not? "I don't know, Salem was an all-witch school from the sixteen-hundreds until like, a few years before I started, so I guess the people who were uptight about all that stuff just didn't send their kids." And yet, even with the odds way in the favor of the odd guy to every handful of girls, he'd lived in the friend zone.

"The whole gender thing is really stupid, too bad everyone's not cool like us," Jory said, smiling. "Like, most gender separation is to stop sex or whatever, but if there's gay guys and lesbians, what the hell does it matter?" It wasn't the same as what one sex could wear and what one couldn't, but it was along the same topic, at least. "People kind of need to get over the whole thing."

"Yeah, but the conservatives don't want to admit people could really be gay. People are born out of some cookie cutter mold, and anyone different's an aberration, or they're choosing to be deviants, you know? Like most people would choose to be hated. It's lame." Indigo reached for his hood, an unconsciously defensive motion, and jerked it back up into place, sending his fringe further forward.

Jory rolled his eyes. "Yeah, I've heard all that. How it's wrong and disgusting and why can't I just like boobs." He shook his head and looked down at his hands as he twirled a ring around his thumb. "It's 'cause most of them just think about sex, I think. If they saw couples like the Blackwood-Hardts, maybe they'd think different." Maybe if people focused on love instead it would be better.

Indigo shrugged. "That's all anyone thinks about, is sex." He looked back over his shoulder, but the shopkeeper must have gotten over his brief explosion of noise, because she wasn't visible. He lowered his voice as he glanced at Jory. "You wouldn't believe how much sex there is on the Internet. I said you can find anything, right? Anything."

Jory didn't catch what Indigo meant at first, his mind had to turn the words over for a minute before he looked up again, eyes wide. "You're kidding," he said. He hadn't seen much of anything himself, not that it was easy to get his hands on when he was at school 90% of the time. "I mean...really?" He eyed the computer with revamped curiosity.

Indigo nodded, his eyes actually rising to meet Jory's for a moment. Dead effing serious. He looked back down at the screen, which was playing a slow slideshow of pictures. "Okay, so you can make the computer search for things. Like when I looked for maps of the solar system, right? It has a censor built in to block out the worst stuff, but if you turn the censor off, you can find pictures, and movies, like whatever you want."

Jory looked at Indigo, uncertain. "So it's just there to take? Do you have to pay?" Can I see? He hadn't really thought about that kind of thing in months, not for any longer than it took to think of something else. But they were out in public. "Never mind." He dropped his eyes again. He shouldn't even be considering the possibilities.

Indigo leaned back into the loveseat, taking Jory's never mind as a realization that there wasn't any privacy to even search that kind of stuff, let alone look through it. "God, I wish electronics worked at Hogwarts," he said with a sigh. He couldn't begin to think of anyplace he had any real freedom with the Internet except at home. In theory he could lock himself in the book store bathroom, but if the shopkeeper found out why, he'd lose his only connection.

"Now I do, too," Jory said. He never would have cared about the limit on muggle objects on campus. He shouldn't care about it now. "So is this the only place you can get on your computer, then?" he asked, wrapping his arms around his leg. The possibilities of that computer seemed never ending. First, Indigo could talk to people all over with it, and now...this...

"There are a lot of places that have free Internet in the Muggle world," Indigo said. He leaned his head back and looked blankly at the ceiling. "It's all in like, restaurants and cafes and stuff. A lot of them have it free so you'll go in and buy something, but like... there's still a hundred other people around." And he just didn't get off on the idea of wanking to YouPorn in a public bathroom.

Jory wrinkled his nose, then shook his head at them. "We are so weird, trying to come up with a place to get on your computer," he said. A smile pulled at the corner of his lips as he glanced over at Indigo. "Although...too bad the Room of Requirement wouldn't be any help." Why was he so curious, anyway? He blamed it on having had nothing more than a kiss since Emilian.
