Jory had finally settled on a simple bar with purple balls on the ends and looked up again as Verity went off. "Are you gonna come back with me?" he asked, looking over at Verity, before gesturing to the one he wanted in the case for Maverick to check. He knew some of them weren't available for new piercings, but he hoped this one would be.

Maverick wouldn't have even noticed the kid pointing at the piece had he not forcibly stopped himself from staring at the girl's...lady lumps. "Yeah, you can get this one," he said absently, pulling out his wand to open the case and pull it out. "It's tiny back there, but we can fit three for a piercing." He fully intended to be alone with the girl for the tat, though.

Verity whipped herself around. "Erm. Yeah, sure." She said. She bit her bottom lip. "If you want me to." She was fine with needles, they didn't scare her. It was the possibility of blood. She didn't even know if there was a possibility of blood, but there was the possibility of there possibly being blood...and that almost freaked her out. She forced herself to stop thinking in circles and to suck it up. She shrugged followed the two of them.

"Thanks," Jory said. "I'm a wimp when it comes to pain, I had to have Zilly hold my hand last time." It hadn't hurt too bad, though. The tattoo had been the worst, definitely, though he knew that by the time he finished his list he would probably have a new most painful modification. Not that it would ever stop him from getting them.

Maverick attempted, for a second, to keep his grin in check, but failed. "Alright, come on then," he said, taking the jewelry and turning away from the counter. He gestured for the two to follow him into the back room. It wasn't huge, big enough for a chair that could lay down flat like a table for the customer, a stool for himself, and a counter with drawers upon drawers for his supplies. His first thought was how to set it up for any accidental touching of the female.
"I'll have to dry it off and everything, you know the drill." He pulled out a drawer to take out a clamp, needle, and various other things that he wouldn't even need if he did this right. It shouldn't bleed, but if the kid twitched or something slipped, there was always the chance. He snapped on gloves and sat on the swiveling chair.

Verity moved into the room and stood next to Jory. She giggled a little when he said Zilly had to hold his hand. She thought that since he's gotten so many other piercings, he would have been used to it. "Feel free to squeeze my hand off, if necessary." She offered. She wasn't that fragile. The room was small. Verity watched as Maverick got the stuff ready to do the piercing, focusing a little more on him than what he was doing.

Jory perched himself on the chair, tucking one leg beneath him as his eyes flickered to the tools. Yes, he knew exactly how a tongue piercing was done, but the excitement was almost higher than his nervousness. Was his mouth wetter than normal? Did his breath stink? Oh, no, what if there was something stuck in his teeth? He started moving his tongue almost obsessively over his teeth. "How long does this take to get better?"

"A couple weeks, just like everything else. I'll give you some mouthwash potion stuff. Tastes like sh~ but it'll keep you from getting an infection or something." Maverick glanced up at Verity and grinned, but he knew her time was coming, and the quicker he got the kid out of the way the quicker he could be alone with her, nevermind that the kid would have to stay outside alone for it. "Tongue out," he directed, focusing back on his work.

Verity got distracted by Maverick's smile, but she forced herself to look away and move her focus to Jory when it seemed like he was about to do it. Jory looked incredibly excited and not nervous in the least. Verity was nervous enough for him. Suddenly, it was becoming real. He was getting his tongue pierced. She slipped her hand into Jory's and squeezed it for good measure. Then she dropped her eyes so she wouldn't have to watch it.

Jory curved his hand around Verity's as he let Maverick do the prep. He knew the clamp would come on, a flatter tongue had less to go through, he knew the needle and the jewelry would go through separately, but that was normal for piercings at a modification shop like this. He nodded to show he was ready, and he felt his muscles tense.

Maverick gave Verity one more lasting look before finishing prep on the kid, the needle went through smoothly, splitting the muscles just like it was supposed to, and the jewelry went in immediately after it was gone. It was a quick, easy piercing, unlike some of the others that were a little messy and involved a bit more cleanup. "That's it," he said, putting all his tools away to clean and taking his gloves off. "Here's the junk, use it couple times a day, and after you eat. Beware of spicy foods, your bum's not the only thing that'll hate you for having curry and jalapenos for supper."

Verity squeezed her eyes shut, even though she wasn't even looking at the needle or the tongue. It was over in a second. That was it? She questioned to herself. She slowly opened her eyes a blinked. She realized that she was the one squeezing Jory's hand to death. She loosened her grip immediately. "That wasn't too bad." She said quietly, before looking at Jory. How would she know how bad it was? "Was it?" She added.

Jory had winced at the needle, but since he had been expecting much worse, he was rather pleased with what it was like. He worked his tongue a little in his mouth before he looked up at Verity and shook his head. "No, it wasn't bad. Thank you," he said, glancing over at Maverick. Then he took his hand back and reached for the hand mirror laying on the counter and held out his tongue to see the purple ball resting on his slightly redder tongue. Right now it wasn't too bad, but if it was anything like the others, it would hit him in the morning. "It looks good," he said as he put the mirror back, smiling, before hopping off the chair.

"Mhm, you're welcome," Maverick said, almost absently, before telling the kid the price and standing to lead them out of the back and back into the main room of the shop. "I don't know that I want both of you back there while I'm doing the tat, it takes just a little bit more room and, as you can see, there isn't exactly a lot to play with back there."

Verity's eyebrows shot up. "Oh...kay..." She said slowly, but she understood. It wouldn't be too bad, she convinced herself. She had heard all sorts of crazy things about tattoos from horror stories to successful stories. As her excitement built up all over again, she stopped worrying. It was going to be sooo amazing. She still hadn't decided on what she wanted. "I'll see you in a few, I guess." Verity said turning to Jory.
