Ariel wasn't being followed around by Markise, though he had considered it more than a couple of times since meeting Lyric. At times it felt like he was still recovering from the short encounter, and instead of wanting to go hide and be alone he wanted to find Markise. He couldn't be with Markise all the time, though, so he had to deal. He still hadn't found Quinn or Jory, not that he had exactly been looking for them, and he had a little free time now. He supposed that there wasn't much else to do than wander around the corridors and hope he found someone.

It had been a few days since Quinn had seen Lyric, and she was starting to get nervous again, thinking about what had happened the last time she'd seen him. The end of the night had been wonderful, and she loved that at the end of the night Lyric had hugged her, she'd felt close to him again. She knew more was happening between them than perhaps he knew, or even she knew. She couldn't let herself get attached, but couldn't help that she was.
Lyric reminded her of herself in many ways, and in others she wanted to give him the caring and the love her sister had always offered to her. Her fingers rubbed at the lump underneath her shirt for a moment, just barely hidden by the fabric. That had meant something too, she wasn't sure what, but it had. And now, she wanted to make sure that Lyric was still planning on attending the concert with her, and maybe, maybe she could convince him to teach her how to use a camera.
So, she'd set out to the corridors looking for Lyric, sometimes she found him here, and other times she found people like the twins, or empty hallway spaces. Today though, she saw a boy that looked vaguely familiar, although she couldn't remember his name. He was in a few classes with her, and she thought that perhaps he was the boy that worked at Markise's shop, although she'd only seen him the once.

It took Ariel a few seconds to recognize the girl past seeing her in the halls, and when he did he took a deep breath and paused, stalling before he finally came up to her. When was the last time he had willingly gone up to someone to talk? Especially someone he had never actually met before? "Are you Quinn?" he asked, immediately questioning whether this was a good idea or not.

If she hadn't noticed the boy and been curiously trying to place him, Quinn might never have noticed that the boy was speaking to her. Instead she was aware of him asking her the question, and also wondering how he knew her name, when she didn't know his. She ran a nervous hand through her hair, even if he was the boy at Markise's shop, Markise's manner was not the same as this boy's.
She felt nervous looking at him, with his slightly unruly hair, and what looked like a full sleeve tattoo on his arm. He definitely reminded her of the power a man could hold, and after the twins she wasn't sure she liked standing alone in the corridor with this boy. "Yeah. Quinn Ashwinder. Who are you?"

Ariel shifted his bag against his hip and came closer to her now that he knew he had the right person. "Ariel Callahan," he answered. "I'm...." He had couldn't remember ever introducing himself like this, but she seemed on edge, so maybe he needed to tell her his relationship to Markise. "I'm Markise's boyfriend." Apparently she hadn't paid much attention to him in the shop, though being invisible in the shop was what he wanted.

Quinn's eyes rounded at the comment that had come after Ariel's name. "Markise is gay?" She blinked, trying to come to terms with the thought, that perhaps yes, everyone she met at this school was gay. "Is everyone at this school gay?" Dare, Michael, sometimes Lyric, Jory, apparently now even Markise and this Ariel. She wasn't sure that helped with Ariel's masculinity, after all, she'd been fine with Dare and Michael until Dare had gotten upset with her, over something she still didn't know what it was.

Ariel stared at the girl in disbelieving silence for long seconds. Was she seriously asking if Markise was gay? He pushed down the urge to say something about Markise being the world's best liar if he wasn't, and chose instead to completely ignore both questions. "I thought you'd want to know that I met Lyric at the Shrieking Shack the other day."

The shrieking shack, Quinn thought, she hadn't been tempted to look there. Although, why she would have gone there was beyond her, he'd never told her that he went there. It didn't surprise her however that Lyric was at the shrieking shack, he was a free person. She blushed, wishing with some part of herself that he wasn't, but still knowing that he was. "Lyric is a free person. He's allowed to be wherever he wants to be." She shrugged, only Markise knew that there was something more between them, and maybe Jory, but she had hoped Markise wouldn't say anything.

Ariel knew about as much as Markise knew, and he had overheard pieces of their conversations in the shop, so he had a pretty decent idea of what was going on. "Whether he's free or not, I figure you should know that I saw him with a box of drugs." He was proud of himself now that he had thought about it for not doing anything. He could have fought and taken that stuff, but he hadn't.

Quinn's eyes widened as she thought about the box that Lyric kept his things in. "He showed you his box? He...he let me hold it once." It had been so beautiful to hold it and trace the old carvings on it. He'd let her hold it that first time, when he'd kissed her. She felt a blush wash over her cheeks. "It's really pretty, he told me that he took it from his dad." It couldn't be bad to tell Ariel that if Lyric had let him see the box.

"He didn't show me his box," Ariel said. "I walked into the room and he was shoving all this stuff into it, shaking pretty bad. The box isn't important, but it had more than enough for him. He's a dealer." He wasn't interested in her relationship with Lyric, the only thing he was interested in was relaying the information so that he could feel like he had done something good.

The box was important, when Lyric had told her about it, it had been important. They had been sharing things about the past, and she'd known it was important to him. "The box is important to Lyric." She tilted her head though, confused as to why the boy wanted to tell her about the box. "And he's probably shaking because he's stressed." If it had been Markise she might have told him about how she'd found him on top of the astronomy tower, but he wasn't and she didn't know if she felt safe enough or trusted him enough to tell him that.

Ariel stared at her again and then sighed before running his hand through his hair and glancing away down the hall. He remembered Markise saying something about the girl being sheltered but he hadn't expected her to just throw away the information. "Whatever, the box is important to him," he said. "But what's important to what I'm saying is that he had a box full of drugs that he's apparently been taking long enough to make him shake like a leaf when he needs a hit."

The words were like a foreign language to Quinn, she shook her head, her hand tangling in her hair. She consciously put her hand down at her side, trying to still nervous habits. She felt like she needed to defend Lyric, he needed someone to stand up for him if they didn't understand. Quinn didn't want to spread gossip about him, but she would stop it if necessary. "The only thing in his box is things that let him touch me." And forget, but lately, she'd been more interested in trying to get him to touch her of his own accord, as she blushed again she thought about how he had kissed her on his own.

"Those things are drugs, and they're dangerous, and if Lyric is hooked on them he needs to get help." Who could have thought that Ariel would be telling someone that they need help because of drugs? Quinn said that the drugs let him touch her, what kind of weird relationship did they have? Lyric didn't need someone encouraging him to do something like that, just like Ariel hadn't needed to be around all of the guys that had introduced him to all of it. "You're not...making him take them, are you?"
