Madison didn’t have much to do with her time since she’d been here. She loved playing her guitar, but doing it all day seemed anti-social. Considering all of the clubs she’d been involved in from the school she’d transferred from, Madison decided it wouldn’t hurt to join a few clubs here.
When she’d seen the list she’d asked for a music appreciation group, she loved art, but didn’t have a hand for it personally, and drama geeks in public muggle school had turned her off of drama a long time ago. If you had to act over emotional, it probably was because you couldn’t relate to that emotion yourself. Personally she’d rather live them all. There was a grin on her face as she walked to the only other club that had been listed.
It seemed the Headmistress hadn’t approved that club yet either, because the fliers directed her to meet in the streets of Hogsmeade, outside of the candy shop. Madison had shrugged, and set her feet to walking. It felt good to get outside of the grounds of the castle, she hadn’t had a chance to explore yet.

Quinn didn’t know why she’d chosen the streets of Hogsmeade for her club meeting. She didn’t even know if anyone would show up. As she stood in the crowded street with men passing next to her she was regretting that decision. It had taken every bit of courage she’d had, and beyond that promises she’d made to Kiley to continue with this plan. It was important though she thought, she wasn’t sure how she could lead though, her conversations of late had seemed disjointed and hard to continue.
Except with Markise, with Markise she was able to talk, but she had a feeling that was because Adara had explained to her to keep some things to herself. Quinn’s fingers bunched up into her hair threading in and out keeping herself relatively calm. If someone didn’t show up to the meeting soon, she was going to go back to her dormitory. And probably have a long stiff cry she thought to herself.

Once Madison made it nearer to the candy shop she kept her eyes open for anyone that might be part of this club, the advocacy club. As the child of two self proclaimed muggle hippies, Madison was all for equality and free speech; also freedom of expression, which even in America was lacking.
It was mildly shocking when Madison didn’t see anyone that could be part of a group of people. There were people milling, and a few men stopped in from of stores. She knew from the flier that she was looking for a girl named Quinn. She scanned the crowds again and spotted a young red haired girl almost huddled against a wall near the candy shop.
An eyebrow raised on Madison’s head, she’d been expecting at the very least a group of five to ten people, not one lone girl that looked like she’d rather be hiding than forming and leading a group of advocates. Still, it didn’t hurt to ask, heading over to the wall, parting a small wall of people, Madison reached the girl, “are you Quinn?”

Quinn almost jumped when she heard someone asking for her name. Her eyes turned up away from her thoughts and looked at another girl, a bright blonde girl, who actually appeared to be looking directly at her. It took her a moment to realize that she was in fact speaking to her.
Giving herself a mental shake, Quinn spoke up, “yes, I’m Quinn.” What to say after that? She’d answered the question…what else did the girl want. So easy to talk to Markise and Adara she thought, why couldn’t she find words to start a conversation with this girl? Relax she told herself, she’d been worked up before the girl came over, she was probably just living on the fear, after all the girl radiated something pure and friendly, a genuine smile on her face as she’d asked for Quinn.
Why would she be asking for her, Quinn thought, and then mentally shook herself. Yes, the club, maybe she was here about the club. A surge of adrenaline filled her, had someone actually showed up for the first meeting she’d called? “Are you here for the advocacy club?”

The shift in facial features on the girl was astounding to watch, they shifted from frightened, to pensive, and then to excitement. Madison couldn't help but get a bit caught up in the moment, the girl looked so happy. “Yeah, I'm here for the meeting.” She looked around a moment, thinking about a bald statement on the lack of other club members, but remembering the emotions on the girl's face she thought better of it. “So, do I get to be the first member? Cause that would be awesome.” She meant what she said, to be the first to support a cause was always fun.

Quinn blinked, a bit of balance trying to decide how to respond. This girl get her on her feet, usually she'd start second guessing herself, but she was to busy second guessing the girl to do it to herself. “I suppose, since you are the first one to come by that you are the first member.” Quinn tucked a few strands of her hair behind her head, “My name is Quinn, what is your name?”

A large grin crossed Madison's face as she held out her hand, an American greeting, to Quinn, “Madison. My name is Madison.” As she stood, with her back to the wall of people, Madison decided that Quinn might have the right idea, and turned around, facing the wall of people and rested her back against the wall. “So what are we doing today?”

Quinn sighed as she thought about it, she hadn't really considered what she'd do if anyone showed up to the club meeting. Shrugging Quinn looked at the girl, “I have these grand ideas, but I honestly didn't expect to see anyone show up.” It was self deprecation, she knew, but couldn't seem to help herself.

Madison arched an eyebrow, not quite understanding that attitude, after all her parent's had only ever encouraged her in everything she did, so she went for everything she wanted, and knew she could get it. “So what are these big ideas?” Every good idea started with outrageous ideas, and she didn't mind helping to guide this along a bit.

Closing her eyes Quinn panicked a bit at the pushing, but physically she felt safe, she was with a girl, not a guy, so the pressure seemed less. “Well I want to do something that will get people aware of issues pertinent to the school and what is happening at the school. The subjugation that can happen.” It didn't even strike Quinn that her words might be a bit intense for the normal person. When she got in the zone she was unabashedly honest. Well, most of the time she was to honest.

Subjugation was a large word Madison thought. It took a lot of balls, or lack of sense to use them in a regular conversation. Most people wouldn't understand what you're saying, and the people that did know enough about what subjugation was, either were already trying to prevent it, or were the source of the problem. “I think making people aware is a good idea. Although, whatever we do cannot be to over the top, if it is we'll just be viewed as meddlers and not earth-shakers.” Corny she thought, but earth shakers were what her parent's had always called people that made a big difference.

Quinn got the queerest look on her face when Madison said earth shakers, it was so, American, so in itself over the top. She tried to keep a face on that showed how disapproving she was of that term, but it was to funny and she couldn't help a small giggle. “Earth shakers?,” she asked quizzically.

Brindle was beginning to wonder if she'd ever spot Quinn, whoever that was, in the crowd on the street. She didn't recall it being this busy before the summer, but then, she hadn't come to Hogwarts until October. The novelty of going to Hogsmeade must have worn off by then. She might never have noticed the mousy girl with the red hair and the smiling blonde, especially since her mind had taken the name Quinn and thrown a guy's face at her, but she quickly corrected that thought now.
Earth shakers.
She turned, her vivid blue eyes finally focusing on the two girls. "Is this the advocacy club?" she asked. Oh my God, if there's only two of them, they so need me, she thought.

Quinn looked up as another girl approached them, a smile of relief filtering through her small chuckle. She hadn't expected one other student, and now she had two of them. "Yes, this is the advocacy group. I'm glad to see another face." If this new girl was as nice as Madison was then maybe Quinn was really going to make a difference on this campus, maybe she had something to look forward to.

Madison's gaze swung to the new girl as Quinn was talking, when she was done talking Madison spoke up. "I'm Madison, and that is Quinn, it's nice to meet you,' she said and offered her hand. She was glad to see a few more people who looked like they might understand the idea of freedom of expression. Quinn definitely looked like a proper English girl, but the new girl with her colored and short hair looked strikingly American.
