Cassie nodded, agreeing emphatically with Dare. "I hate them. They only serve to divide teenagers and make us hate each other" she said sadly. "Labels are stereotypical and just create barriers" she summed up her feelings on the matter.

"Stereotyping is just a good way to say you don't really care what's past the image, or the first impression. Yeah, it saves time and effort, but what's the point? You miss everything important if you just go with the first glance." People, like any kind of observing in Dare's opinion, took time to work through, to see the different sides of.

"Stereotyping is just lazy. Being a dancer, I hate lazy people" she said with a grin. She wasn't really in the mood for a serious discussion, but she didn't mind tlaking about issues like this for a while, she was passionate enough about them.

Dare gave a crooked smile. "Don't say that," he said. "Artists are nothing, if not lazy. Sitting around all day drawing instead of doing something." A stereotype, of course, and a definite joke. Maybe he was a little lazy now and then, but not that much.

Cassie laughed, "Oh I am sorry!" she exclaimed, grinning broadly. "Oh don't be silly, you're not lazy, I mean you have to really look at stuff to draw it, so I don't think you're lazy. Now dancers, we're all crazy psycotic cows aren't we?" she said, her voice mock serious though her eyes were laughing.

Dare chuckled at that, his lips curving into a smile. "I'd never heard that one," he said, eyes bright with laughter. "I thought you were all just too out of it to do anything but twirl," he teased. "And you can't knock drawing anyway. You think writer's cramp's a problem? Try drawing for five hours straight; you feel it clear from your fingers up through your neck, down your back."

Cassie shook her head, "We do a lot more than twirl. We jump and spin and hop" she said with a grin. "I love drawing but have you ever tried dancing for five hours straight?" she asked, raising her eyebrows. "You toes hurt, your feet your ankles, your calves your back, muscles that you didn't even know you have, hurt" she said. She said it in such a way as if however true it might be, the information saddened her greatly. She couldn't stay serious for long though and she broke into a grin.

"Hm, not the kind of dancing you're talking about," Dare said. "Just the kind where you're left a little breathless, a little sore in the joints, and totally hyped on adrenaline." Which reminded Dare he needed to get to the club in Hogsmeade. He'd been looking forward to it for a while now.

"I'm sure I could beat you anyday" she said with a laugh. "I've had the training" she said, teasing him further. Though he could probably out draw her any day, she wasn't going to mention that any time soon.

"Probably," Dare agreed. "But then, I'm not stupid enough to challenge you, so it's a moot point, isn't it?" Dare's eyes were light with humor; he was teasing, and enjoying it. "I bet you dance circles around everyone at this school," he said.

Cassie laughed, she knew they were both enjoying their exchange, it gave them something to think about and it was only a bit of light-hearted fun, everyone needed it from time to time. She smled at Dare, "Well I can't stand still and dance" she said with a shrug her eyes alight with a mischevious glint. "But I would probably snap my pencils in shame if out art was compared" she said her smile broadnening a little.

Dare gave a low chuckle and shook his head. "Then I guess it's a good thing I'm not into competition, isn't it?" he teased. Not generally, anyway. The most competitive he usually got was a verbal spar that devolved into a verbal smiting, but that didn't need said.

Cassie laughed, "I guess it is" she said, agreeing with Dare. She pushed her fringe out of her eyes. "Maybe you're the type to help and encourage" she suggested, her mind on improving her artistic abilities. She had always wanted to develop her skills but with dancing being her whole life, there had barely been enough room for magic.

"Maybe," Dare said. He thought about it for a moment. He didn't go out of his way to do either, not unless help was really needed. Once he'd gotten started he was in, though. He wasn't a guy who did things half-assed if he cared at all. "I don't know, I've never really been a leader. Never been a follower, though," he said.

Cassie shrugged, maybe she would have to look elsewhere for guidance, not that it bothered her. "I've been both" she said after a few moments of considering her life. "College did that to me, I trained for years, then began tutoring when I grew skilled enough" she said.
