Dare smiled at that. "Maybe next time you catch me I'll have my sketchbook," he said. It was really more common for him to have it than not to, so it wasn't an unlikely scenario. "Or maybe I'll catch you again, since that's how it worked out this time. No telling, I'm like a gypsy, all over the place." It was a private joke, but it worked, even out of context. It was one of the things he and Silver had joked about, when they'd found out there was nothing they could do to stay in the U.S. It was just one move, but it was a huge one. The joke was in the irony.

Cassie laughed softly. "So if I see you, you'll have a sketchbook and if you see me, I'll most likely be dancing, I dancy anyway, the forest, the lake, the corridors, here. Wherever it takes my fancy" she said with a grin. "So don't break my heart and tell my you're as awful a dancer as you're brother" Cassie said, pretending to be serious although laughter danced in her eyes.

Dare laughed at that, a low, easy sound. "No, I've got a sense of rhythm." He gestured toward the stereo with a nod of his head. "I've been thinking about starting that thing up since you turned it off," he said. "Not sure you'd appreciate my kind of music, but it's great to dance to." He wasn't familiar enough with the Room of Requirement to specifically wish for anything though, so the music didn't go on. Without any contrary information, he figured once someone was in the room, that was the way it stayed, so he hadn't fought it. It was a nice enough room anyway. Airy, comfortable, he didn't mind.

Cassie exaggerated looking relieved. "Phew, one thing a guy has to be is a good dancer" she said with a grin, not able to hold onto the serious look any longer. "Turn it on if you want" she offered, standing up she walked over to her bag and dropped her ballet shoes in it. She pulled out a skirt and top and changed into them, sliding her shorts off, but keeping her leotard on. It didn't bother her that Dare was here, at college they had all changed together and Cassie had spent whole days in Leotards. "All you have to do is ask" she said, walking back to where Dare was sitting. She held out her hand and a bottle of water dropped into it. "See, it's that easy" she said with a grin as she took a sip of the water.

"Impressive," Dare said, smiling. He turned to look at the stereo again, and music started, Muggle alternative rock by a band most of the wizarding world didn't know existed. Warn your warmth to turn away/Here it's December every day/Press your lips to the sculptures/And surely you'll stay...love like winter... Dare bobbed his head to the beat, thrilled and relieved at having some music back in his life after a couple days of going without. "I'm not gonna lie, that really kicks ass," he said to Cassie.

Cassie laughed, "Well I'm glad I could help give you music again" Cassie said nodding, "So wanna dance?" She asked with a smile.

Dare's lips curved into a half-smile. "Sure, why not?" He pushed to his feet, gave a glance at the stereo, though it wasn't needed, and the volume rose. Dare started to move, obviously not a professional, but he had the rhythm his brother didn't, and enough love of the music that he didn't care to doubt himself.

Cassie waited for a moment, just watching Dare move, he wasn't bad, a vast improvement on his brother. She moved closer to him and matched his rhthym, letting her hips sway to the music. Although she had been professionally trained, she also loved just dancing with friends. So she gave herself over to the music, a blissful smile on her face, it had been a while since she had danced like this, and until now she hadn't realised how much she had missed it.

Dare just danced for the feel of the music. He didn't actively shut Cassie out, but neither did he particularly seek to dance with her. The room began to change with the music, band posters spreading from the occasional crack in the wall, and darker, moodier lighting. He'd liked Cassie's space, and didn't specifically seek to change it, but this space fit him, fit the music he'd unconsciously chosen, a little better.

Cassie let the music wash over her. She blocked out everything that had happened to her, just let herself go to the music. Cassie felt the room change around her. She stopped dancing slightly to look around. As she did she smiled, it reminded her of several clubs she and her friends had frequented. She saw a bottle appear on the table and a glass next to it. She poured herself some wine and sat down on the new couch, just wanting some time to forget it all, go back to the old, easier days.

Dare was in his own world for a while longer before he even realized Cassie had wandered away. He looked around for a moment before spotting her, sitting with a glass on the couch. "Needed a break, eh?" he asked, heading toward her. He only gave the bottle a passing glance; another glass and a pitcher of ice water had appeared beside it. He poured himself some water and lounged back against the other end of the couch, stretching long legs out in front of him as he took a drink.

"All the dancing" Cassie said with a grin, another activity was really the cause of her fatigue, but she wasn't likely to tell Dare that. "This place just reminded me of where I used to go with my friends, just made me miss it all I guess." she said, her voice soft as her mind filled with the memories of nights out on the town.

"Hm." It was a vague, noncommittal noise and could have meant almost anything. Dare drained his glass, then leaned toward the table to pour himself another. "You ever go back?" he asked. He knew some people didn't. But she didn't really seem like the type who'd take off without a backward glance. Not if she was missing it.

Cassie nodded, "I still perform with them, they want to me join as a tutor after I'm down here, even though they don't actually know what 'here' is. I miss my friends and the way of life, even if it was magic-free." Cassie sighed, swirling the wine in her glass round. "It was a tough decision and I ask myself everyday if I made the right decision" she said, looking up at Dare, as she leant back in the chair, getting comfy.

"Hm," he said again. His eyes flickered briefly to her glass before he turned his attention back out into the room, inspecting the poster on the wall across from him. "So where do they think you are?" he asked. "You're not really old enough for college...or university, you know what I mean. But do they think you just like, dropped out? Went to some other random boarding school?"
