Gabby unlocked the door to the cafe and stepped inside, taking of her cloak she draped it over the counter and set the candles alight with a flick of her wand. Ever since she had cleaned the place up it always looked so cheerful. Gabby went through to the store room to take a quick stocklist before Brenna arrived.

Brenna had gotten down to the cafe as fast as she could. Her hood was up to prevent the cool wind from freezing her wet hair. She was glad that it was already unlocked and she pushed the door open. Brenna put her hood down and looked around. It was a nice place, but there was no Gabby. " 'Allo?" She called to the empty room.

Gabby heard Brenna's voice and shouted "I'll be there in a second!" Gabby marked her progress and went through to the cafe. "Hi I'm sorry I had to take stock of everything." Gabby smiled and gestured towards a table sitting down herself. "Would you like anything?" Gabby asked Brenna, mentally thinking about what she would like herself.

It was Brenna's first time in the cafe and the warmth filled her body. She took a seat. "It looks lovely in here." She commented smiling. "Er...what do you have?" Brenna asked curiously.

Gabby blushed "Thank you, when I took it on it was pretty run down." Gabby pointed to her menu mounted on the wall. "Tea, coffee, hot chocolate, milkshakes. If you're hungry we have a range of baguettes, toasted sandwiches, baked potatos or soup." Gabby said, making sure that Brenna would be able to take it all in. "So, what do you fancy?" Gabby asked with a smile, playing the perfect waitress.

Brenna laughed lightly. "Coffee is fine, thanks." She said graciously. Brenna pulled her hair so it was pouring off off one shoulders. The wetness left it cool, but she was glad it beginning to dry.

Gabby smiled and went to make the coffee. After a few minutes she returned to the table with coffee for Brenna and a cup of tea and a bagel for herself. She served Brenna her coffee than sat down. "There you go, there's milk and sugar as well if you want it" Gabby offered. She sipped her tea and burnt her tongue. "Aaach, I always do that," Gabby said grimly.

Brenna shot her a look of sympathy. "I know what you mean." She said. Brenna poured a little bit of cream into her coffe and a little more sugar. She let it cool to avoid a burnt tongue as well. "So, 'ow long 'ave you 'ad this place?" She asked.

"I took it on just after I returned after my grandmother's death." Gabby said quietly, looking aorund the cafe. "I love it here now, I can't imagine not running it." Gabby smiled, it had taken a lot of work to get it in shape, but it had been worth it. "Do you have anywhere like this?" Gabby asked.

Brenna shook her head. "No, I don't own a s hop." She said but the idea struck her as interesting. "But my aunt is a pastry chef and owns her own little restaurant in France near where I used to live." She always liked going to her aunt when she needed something and not having to go directly to her family, who lived hours away from Beauxbatons.

Gabby sighed, "That sounds delightful. I love travelling." Gabby cautiously sipped her tea, then ate some of her bagel. "The castle has had a really odd atmosphere lately, do you know what I mean?" Gabby asked Brenna.

"Hmm..." Brenna said as she thought back. "I hadn't really noticed much difference." She admitted. She picked up her cup of coffee. "Is it a good change or bad?" Brenna asked before she took a sip.

"Bad I think, it seems pretty quiet and tentative, almost as if people are afraid of drawing attention to themselves." Gabby sighed, "I don't know, that's just what I think" she sipped her tea and ate some more of her bagel.

"Maybe." Brenna said. "Maybe because of everything that has gone on. Especially with Emilian and Chase. I guess people just have to get used to it." Brenna stirred her coffee more.

Gabby nodded, "I just don't feel at ease though and to be honest I'm glad that Brooke took the time to teach me some defensive spells" Gabby admitted as she added some sugar to her tea.
