Chase shivered at Dru's kiss, the soft plea in her voice doing nothing to slow him, nothing to remind him what was happening. Instinct guided him, instinct, lust, and soul-deep need. He was on fire as they moved together, the world forgotten for this moment.

A murmur escaped Dru's lips, "Don't stop." She gave into him, letting him do what they had both wanted, though she had repressed it for so long. Once they had both stopped moving, she was finally able to breathe, deep, fast breaths. The fingers of one hand were still tangled in his hair and the other was wrapped tight around his upper body. A strange feeling enveloped her, one of mixed pure happiness and something else, she couldn't quite believe she had let him.

Chase pulled long gulps of air, completely oblivious to the sudden bustling noise of the kitchen, where house-elves scurried to do work they had already done, carefully averting both eyes and ears. Chase was motionless, except for the motion of his chest as he breathed, his head bowed beside Dru's.
He hadn't expected this. For all the times he'd asked, all the times he'd pushed, he hadn't expected it ever to happen. And tonight, of all nights. It had been every bit as...physically pleasurable as he'd imagined, and yet he didn't feel the freedom he had...with Storm. He felt the weight of betrayal, but who had he betrayed?
Chase shook off the thought, firmly crushing it into the darkest corner of his mind as he brought his lips to Dru's. He kissed her, slowly now, with unspoken gratitude made greater by his guilt.

Dru returned the kiss and lessened her grip on him, still holding him close, but not nearly as tight. She pulled back enough to catch her breath and look into his eyes, "I told you the wait wouldn't kill you," she said softly, a smile pulling at the edge of her mouth, before meeting his lips again.

But the wait had killed him. He'd grown less patient with every passing day, and when he had finally strayed, it had been far more than the kisses that Dru had objected to in the beginning. Chase forced his mind and body to work separately, giving Dru the tender kiss she needed, buying himself time to push guilt into the back of his mind.

Dru let her hand run along his jaw, the memory of their previous conversation and the subtle feeling that he wasn't completely invested in the kiss was overridden by the hazy feeling running through her body and mind. She wasn't really able to think of anything else at that moment other than the weight of him on her.

Though the kitchen's fires were blazing, the room was large, and held an inherent chill. Or perhaps it was Chase's subconscious mind that brought a shiver up his spine. Either way, Chase slowed the kiss, breaking it gently before moving to his feet to dress.

The absence of Chase's body weight and heat chilled Dru, the sudden exposure to air sending goosebumps over her skin. She sat up, feeling oddly exposed, and stood, putting on items as she found them. She looked up at him after pulling her shirt on, he hadn't said anything, had she done something wrong? Her teeth found her lip, just like they always did.

When Chase had dressed, he turned to look at Dru. She looked unhappy, unsure, the opposite of anything he had wanted. He crossed the space between them and slipped his hand beneath her chin, raising her face to look at him. "I'm not sorry this happened," he said, his voice low, eyes simmering red-brown.

Dru gave a small smile and looked into his eyes. "I'm glad I didn't make you stop," she said, taking his other hand. The feeling engulfing her was relief, she had finally let it happen and was happy with it, but at the same time she felt as though she had lost something. She had, of course, but she had never thought she'd actually feel it like she did.

Chase's lips curved, his eyes simmering again as he looked at Dru. "I'll make it better next time," he promised. He was a good guy, the kind who watched out for people he hardly knew, who'd step into an unfair fight and take the side of the underdog on principle. But tonight, more had happened than he'd ever expected, and rational thinking just wasn't doing it. Maybe his logic had twisted slightly, but he refused to give Storm up. He also refused to give Dru up. He couldn't bear to end it with either of them just yet.

Dru laughed lightly, she had rather enjoyed herself that time, the idea of next time hadn't occurred to her yet. She reached up and gave him a tight hug, "Thank you," she said softly. For giving her a shot, for not giving up and leaving when she kept stopping.

"The pleasure's all mine," Chase said, eyes gleaming with light humor. He brought his lips to hers for another kiss, secure for now in his decision. He'd just keep them both. Storm knew, and as long as she didn't mind, he was in the clear. And what was the chance that Dru would find out?

Dru smiled and returned the kiss. The thought crossed her mind, would this be all he came to her for now? She hoped not. "A good end to your long day?" she asked, grinning up at him when she broke the kiss.

With the decision made, Chase's guilt was no longer stabbing at him. He'd been with multiple girls before, the only difference being that he wasn't officially with any of them. He smiled down at Dru, his eyes near-crimson. "A great end," he corrected her.
This was good. The girls were like day and night. He could get his verbal stimulation with Dru, enjoy the chemistry they had without the pressure of shutting out the rest of his life. He could open up with Storm, take things quiet and slow, no pretense. "You'll be at the club after school?" Chase asked.
