[Castiel Catalyst]

"I had him pinned against the wall!" Castiel hissed over his potions book. "I swear I could feel his breath and Professor Blackwood walked in!" Castiel possibly hadn't paid enough attention in potions class today for thinking about it, and so he was determined to study extra hard to make up for it.

"Hey, if you were that close, you'll get it next time," Mari said. Though he made sure to keep his voice low enough not to piss off the librarian, it wasn't near the hiss of Castiel's. "But really, couldn't Blackwood have let you have a kiss? Just a little one?" It didn't seem fair. Here they were, having to trek back to class, the least the professors could do was let them have a bit of fun.

"He smiled, swear to God," Castiel said. "He thought it was funny." And that wasn't even the worst of it! "When he was finally gone, so was Andy. He ditched me. There won't be a next time!" He pulled out a piece of parchment and quill, then pushed his potions book aside to scribble furiously. Leaves formed and were filled in, eyes appeared from between them, and all in all it was yet another gothic monsterpiece.

"I don't get next times. The only time I ever got a next time was Cheyenne..." He looked up. "Um, I mean, I meant someone else."

Seiji watched all this with silent interest. He'd never heard anyone talk about things like this and it kept a permanent blush on his face, kept his brows permanently raised, but curiosity kept him rooted in his seat. Curiosity and the teasing warmth of Mari. Why was it that he found being shocked so much fun?

At Seiji's continued silence, Mari shifted just enough to nudge him again with his toe, picking up their previous game. He eyed Castiel, but chose not to pursue anything about her. "Well, maybe he was just nervous because of how cool you are," he reasoned instead. "Maybe you just need to get in touch with him somewhere else. Take him to the lake!"

"I'd have to go outside!" Castiel argued. "There's like, bugs out there." Plus he sunburned easily. He envied Caspian the ability to tan instead of just turning white again. At least he made a good goth. "Where could I take someone in the castle? The Room of Requirement usually has someone in it, and the library isn't really romantic."

Castiel thought a moment, then blinked. "Do you have to use condoms for gay sex?" Not that he'd ever had any kind of sex, not really.

"I don't know. I mean, you don't have to like worry about babies or anything, but aren't there diseases and stuff?" Mari asked. He thought about that for a moment before he shook his head. "But like, if you're both virgins, then can you have them?" There were only a few vague memories about it from stuff he'd been told or seen online, but nothing concrete.

Castiel shook his head. "That wouldn't make sense," he said. "You get sexually transmitted stuff from sex. It can't like, pop up out of nowhere to punish you or something." That just didn't make any sense at all. "So like, I guess not. I mean, I have one in my wallet, but it's been there a while, and it's the only one I have."

"Well, do you know if he's a virgin, though? Like if he's not then something could happen," Mari said. He doubted that someone who wasn't would run away, but what did he know about guys who'd gone all the way? His gaze flickered over to Seiji, but he had the distinct impression that he definitely hadn't gone all the way.

Castiel's brows drew together. "He was way too shy," he said. He didn't convince himself, though. "If it was that easy for me, maybe it was that easy for someone else." Well, that was disappointing. "I'll owl Caspian," he decided. "Caspian's my brother," he added for Seiji. "He's like the coolest guy ever." It would take so long to send and receive an owl, but he doubted he'd manage to get anyone in bed in a month when he'd never managed with Cheyenne.

"He really is, he's even an animagus and can turn into a leopard, it's super cool," Mari said. "You think he'll send you more condoms or something? Do you even know how to put one on?" It couldn't be that hard, but he the thought of putting something tight and rubbery on such a sensitive area made him slightly apprehensive.

Seiji didn't know if he could blush any harder, and at Mari's last question to Castiel, he stood. "I need another book," he claimed, gave a brief bob of a bow, and walked away. The teasing game that Mari's foot had played with his beneath the table had been a great deal of fun, but Seiji couldn't listen to the rest. He'd come back later, with a book of some sort.

Castiel watched Seiji go, nonplussed. Then he brought out his wallet to show Mari a little wrapped square. "See? There's instructions on the back. It doesn't look too hard." He burst into giggles at his unintentional wording. He glanced toward the librarian's desk, then leaned forward. "It just like... goes on, see?"

Mari leaned slightly forward, and his eyebrows creased to a point as he looked over the little package. Then he nodded and slid back into his seat. "Okay, not too bad, I guess," he said. He reached up and twirled a bit of hair around his finger as he watched the space where Seiji had disappeared. Maybe he could practice with him sometime. "Think your brother'll give you tips on how to get closer to him?"

"Oh my God. Caspian just looks at someone and their clothes fall off," Castiel said. "He's like, be confident, be yourself, and if they don't go for it, oh well. Because it's really that easy. For like, normal people." Well, he'd gotten Andy alone and almost kissed him, within like half an hour of meeting. "Maybe I'm worried for nothing." But if he got an std or something, he'd just die.
