"It's not a date," Indigo said, reminding them both. He looked somewhat nervously at the people closest to them, but they were wholly focused on the movie. "Would you rather think somewhere quiet?" He wanted to see the rest of the movie, but he could easily find it online somewhere over the summer if they left.

Jory tried a smile again and succeeded a little better this time. "I can think tonight, I don't want to take you away from the movie." He reached for a handful of the last of the popcorn to distract himself. If they left with the movie not finished it would just add to the guilt and pessimism that was trying to take over. He wanted to kick himself, he hadn't felt like this since his disagreement with Indigo at Diagon Alley.

Indigo looked at Jory for another moment, but the movie caught his attention again before he could think of what to say. He let it go, let himself believe Jory that it would be okay and watched the rest of the movie dutifully. He enjoyed it well enough and said so, but kept his hands stuffed into his pockets on the way back to Hogwarts and didn't ask to hang out in Jory's quarters after. They both needed to think, and they both needed to cool down. Maybe they'd be better tomorrow.
