"Oh, this is awesome," Mari said. "It's not Florida, but I don't feel like I'm an ice cube." At least he'd be a super cute ice cube. He glanced back at Indigo, then bent briefly to catch up a handful of snow, which didn't immediately destroy all the feeling in his fingertips. Maybe they would actually survive until spring now.

Indigo had been hanging back, letting the two talk, but he was paying enough attention to see what Mari was up to. He stopped in place, then took a couple steps to the side to arm himself. If he was about to get a snowball, he was going to give one right back.
"You know what to do with that?" he asked, packing his snowball.

"Um..." Mari looked at his own loose handful of snow, then over to what Indigo was doing. "Of course," he claimed. He attempted to mimic Indigo's movements, though he really wasn't sure what he was doing. He'd heard about snowmen, but that was about as far as his snow knowledge went. Neither of them had quite figured out packing snow during their time outside.

Castiel didn't want to be in the middle of this, especially not wearing his new coat. He moved over closer to the shops where he'd be less likely to get attacked. He was perfectly happy just watching and letting them forget about him and his bags.

Indigo could tell that Mari didn't know a thing about making snowballs, and finished his quickly. "You want to throw that at something?" he asked. He might not throw the first one, but he'd sure retaliate if Mari tried to hit him with his handful of snow.

Mari's eyes widened and he stared at his snow, which definitely didn't seem like it would hold together long enough to hit Indigo. "Um...It wouldn't really go at something, would it? It might go in something's direction, but I'm pretty sure it'd just fall apart halfway there." He demonstrated the crapiness of the ball by putting his thumb in it.

"It might," Indigo said. Apparently Mari had tried it before. Indigo had seen a few students from various places who didn't know a thing about snow, and they usually just stomped around in circles laughing until they got too cold to function. "So what are you going to do?"

"Are you gonna throw yours at something?" Mari asked instead of answering the question. "Maybe you should show me what I'm supposed to do." He glanced over his shoulder at Castiel, but quickly returned his attention to Indigo. Maybe something good would come of this, the last time Indigo had helped had been a lot of fun.

Indigo followed Mari's glance to Castiel, who didn't look like he wanted to play. Well, that was fine. He thought for a moment. Was this likely to get him in trouble? Nope. His lips quirked, then he pulled back his arm to launch a well-packed snowball at Mari. "Thinkfast!"

Mari had just enough time to look surprised and pick up his hands, dropping his not-quite-a-snowball in a vain attempt to block Indigo's. Of course, the thing broke apart and showered him in snow. "Hey, that's totally not fair!" he said, laughing. He blinked away some snow that had gotten on his eyelashes and tried again to build his own.

Indigo stepped into the snow beside the path to grab up another handful while Mari was busy. "You asked me to show you," he said, "so I'm showing you!" Lessons were better learned hands-on, right? He packed his second snowball, then sent it after the other one.

"Mari, get him back!" Castiel shouted. He was still keeping out of this, but he was watching too, and trying to figure out what was different about Indigo's snowballs that made them hold together. It just looked like he was picking up the snow and making it round-shaped.

Mari ducked but got a head full of snow, anyway. He tried throwing his ball, but it disintegrated into a cloud when it hit Indigo and it definitely looked like it hadn't had any impact. "Shut up, Castiel," he said, smiling and scooping up more snow for another try. His third attempt stayed together slightly better when he released it.

"Hey, I'm on your side!" Castiel shot back, then clapped when Mari's snowball almost made it all the way. He glanced aside, then set his bags in a nice dry spot against the wall. If he wasn't going to join in, he could at least play cheer squad or something.

Indigo coughed a little at the floating snow that made it to his face. He reached up and tugged at his scarf, pulling it up over his nose and mouth to keep it from happening again. "You have to do better than that!" he teased, voice muffled now. He finished packing a handful of snow and threw it.
