"You guys aren't going to make it to spring in that stuff," Indigo said, glancing between Mari and Castiel. He was trying hard not to act weird, but his cheeks heated every time he looked at Mari too long, so he mostly kept his eyes on the path.
"It's nice today, so we may as well, right?" By nice he meant that the air wasn't a wall of biting cold. Everything was frozen and there was quite a bit of snow, though the paths themselves were clear, but it was bearable. As long as you were layered properly.

Nice? Castiel mouthed. His shoulders were shrugged clear to his neck, and no matter how tightly he folded his coat around himself, he was still freezing to death. He couldn't even feel his fingers anymore, or his nose, or the hat on his head. He only kept his teeth from chattering with force of will. "We can stay in the castle for another month or two," he said, watching his breath come out as steam.

"I'm not staying locked up in the castle!" Mari insisted, turning to face the other two, walking backwards along the path, something that was probably a bad idea but that he did anyway. He didn't want to stay in the castle, however much he still hadn't discovered yet. They had another couple years left to learn the ins and outs of the castle and the grounds, and he wanted to be outside in the snow. Even if he couldn't feel his fingertips or his toes. "Besides, we'll have Indigo's help picking something out, and maybe Markise will be there, and when we leave we won't have to worry about being cold anymore."

"He doesn't live in Hogsmeade," Castiel said, though Marius totally knew. "That would be way too cool," he admitted with a shiver. Why had he said it like that? He wanted nothing to do with anything cool right now. His eyes widened suddenly. "There it is!" Cold? What cold? He was too excited for cold, and reached for Mari's arm to pull him forward. Forward was faster.

Mari grinned and turned around, reaching briefly for Indigo's arm to pull him along, as well. At least for a step or two, anyway. "I'm coming," he said to Castiel, then took advantage of his friend's distraction to throw a broad smile toward Indigo before releasing his arm. He trotted forward the last steps to the shop and grabbed the door. "Brains before beauty," he teased, gesturing for Castiel to lead the way in.

Castiel ignored any light chuckles he might have heard as he turned with scandalized eyes to smack Marius in the shoulder. Then he looked up at the shop's sign and grinned. Sterling Style! He was brimming with excitement as he stepped in, taking as slow a look as possible to memorize everything. He needed a good description for his letter to Cheyenne.

The shop had been doing well, even in Markise's absence. Everything was just the way he wanted it, from the racks of higher-grade youth and adult clothing to the displays of just a few things he'd brought with him. There was a small section in his New York shop dedicated to his designs, and though he'd only be here for a few days, he'd gotten to work setting one up here as well. He'd needed something to do while Ariel was off on his testosterone retreat with the Lodge guys, and visiting friends in Hogsmeade worked.
When he heard the door chime, he called upstairs that he'd get it. He had someone working stock upstairs, but his cashier had the day off. He loved this all too much not to dig in while he had the chance. He headed into the main shop to greet his customers.

Indigo hadn't expected to see Markise any more than Castiel, but he recognized him. It was more than a little obvious that they were fans. He gave Castiel a tap on the shoulder, then gestured into the shop. He hadn't seen them gush over anyone, so he figured it was safe.

Castiel glanced over, then did a double take and pulled a soft gasp. He tugged on Mari's arm, then gestured as wildly as possible while the familiar blonde was still on the other side of the racks of clothes. It was him! Markise Sterling! He needed a magazine for an autograph; why had he left his book bag back at the castle?!

Mari looked up and his eyes widened, as well, then he smiled at his friend. "Go say hi before I do it for you," he warned. It didn't matter that it appeared Markise was on his way over, anyway. Castiel would know the threat was real, and that Mari would probably do his best to talk his friend up while he was greeting the famous shopkeeper.

Castiel didn't know what to say, and so he clutched Mari's arm in indecision. Did he just say hi? What then? He had to think of something clever. But what? Oh, it had been so much easier in class where he could just gaze at his professors and show off a little by volunteering answers when everyone else was sitting quietly in their seats!

Markise had his glittering smile on when he rounded the last rack and found a group of boys waiting for him. Two looked like dolls, but the third he recognized. "Indigo, right?" he asked. The little goth one had a look on that Markise had rarely seen from anyone besides preteen girls clutching their copies of Cauldron. He gave that one a disarming smile.

Mari grinned at Markise. So he hadn't been super excited about the move to start with, but it was definitely turning out to be a good thing. "Hi," he said. "I'm Mari, that's Castiel. We read Cauldron, he's, like, a super-fan." Mari enjoyed the magazine, as well and he maybe was a tad fanatical about it, but Castiel was definitely, totally more.

Castiel's eyes widened further, and though he couldn't take his eyes off Markise, he did squeeze Mari's arm a bit harder than necessary. Okay, a lot harder than necessary. He tried to shake his head a little to deny it, but the motion probably came out looking more like residual shivers from the outdoors.

"They need winter stuff, and wanted to come here," Indigo said, as though that really made it any better. It got the direct attention off Castiel, though. The guy looked like he was either about to explode or turn into a puddle, if he could just decide which. "Do you have like, coats or cloaks, gloves, stuff like that?"
