Vannah's face bore a wide grin. She couldn't feel anything but a rush of energy and numbness. She thought maybe it was better that way to be numb so it wouldn't hurt as much later. She wrapped her arms around his neck and just stood there waiting and smiling.

Ryan looked into her eyes and leaned in and kissed her deeply. Ryan knew he shouldnt be doing it but he couldnt stop himself.

Vannah's finger ran through his soft hair. The kiss was intense and she leaned in closer so her hips were touching his.

Vannah let her hands drop so they were touching his lightly. She laced her fingers with his and brought them up gently. She held them so their palms were touching each others'. She could almost feel the pulse that vibrated through his hands and she let herself get caught up in the rush.

Vannah let her arms drop down. She pulled away from the kisses, for the only time she had almost a regret, guilt, and apprehensive feeling of what she was getting into----no, it wasn't the first time, there was one more but it was very different.

Vannah looked up at him. Her face bore surprise, though she couldn't figure out why. She took a step back and looked away. "Right." She said quietly. Vannah slid her hands into her back pockets.

Vannah brought her eyes back to his. "I know." She responded. Her eyes were the bright kind of green they usually are but had something else in them, like a proteective streak. Not knowing what to do or to end up cuaisng more trouble she said. "I should go." The way she said it made it seem ever so slightly like a wuestion.

Vannah looked at him sympathetically. "I'm sorry, Ryan. I can't do this." She slowly walked up to him and stopped only inches away. She kissed him deeply, leaving her own self buzzing. Vannah took a step back. Goodbye." She said as she grabbed her jacket and headed for the door.

Vannah turned around to face him. "I'm sorry." She said as her eyes began to fill up with tears. "I'll always love you, you know that." Vannah willed the tears away. "But I can't do this anymore." She took a deep breath. "I'm sorry." She said again. "Bye, Ryan." She repeated before turning the dorr knob. For the first time, she didn't feel necessary to run. She took a right at the end of the hall and lingered nearby what looked like an abandoned classroom.
