Vannah was silent for a long moment. She knew some of it was her fault, too. She also believed it wasn't fair to pin the blame on one person. "Yeah." She said, agreeing, even though her thoughts spoke differently.

Vannah made herself pull away from Ryan's embrace. She quickly wiped her tears away. "Maybe I should go soon." She suggested beginning to feel a hint of guilt. But for what?

Vannah stood there for a moment hoping he'd have a reaction, hoping he wouldn't let her leave but nothing happened. "Okay, then." She walked over to the chair and grabbed her jacket. "I'll be seeing you, I suppose." She said as she walked over to the door.

Vannah stopped. Her hand was mid-air halway to the doorknob. "Ryan..." She whispered barely audible. She closed her eyes. "Why not?" She asked calmly.

Vannah opened her eyes and turned around slowl. Her head was bowed slightly. She walked over to him, but stood a few feet away. "What about Gabrielle?" She asked staring right at him.

"And why is that?" Vannah asked walking closer with each word. Her face was only a couple of inches away from his. A small grin spread across her face as she waited for his response.

Without thinking, Vannah leaned in and kissed him. She knew that if she thought about it too much something would've stopped her. She didn't know why she did, she didn't want to know why, but she did. It was soft, but intense. Vannah let the kiss linger for a short moment and pulled away from his face.
