That was a lot to take in, and Lyric was still tryinng to process it all. Emilian had been some sort of... sex student? He vaguely remembered a day when Manno had tried the same thing with him, and the heat of embarrassment bit at him. It was weird hearing how this tied in with his professors too, and there was so much that it was a wonder this hadn't happened before. It was a little confusing, and it took a moment, but Lyric asked the only solid question he could think of. "So what happened was okay?" Possibly even good by the sound of it.

"In the Aurors' eyes? Probably not," Mano said. "But I don't think anyone's going to be turning you in for doing it. It won't be the first time he's been beaten, and it probably won't be the last, but it was certainly the most creative." He hoped it hit home with Emilian, considering the nature of it all. He doubted it would.

Lyric nodded, still unsure about the compliment, and about the moral grey area he was apparently in. It was hard to fully accept, but he was willing to take it and run. "So, like, do you think he'll turn me in?" he asked. Now that he knew going to Mano had been the right thing he'd calmed down a bit, but he knew he still wasn't out of the water.

Mano shook his head. "I don't. Considering his record, he's walking a very thin line with the authorities and his family. If he reported you, then it would come out what he was doing to Jory." And no matter what atrocities were committed, they were fine as long as they were kept under wraps. The second they came out it all changed.

Lyric thought about that, and was almost disappointed he wouldn't get in trouble, just because it meant Emilian wouldn't. He thought some more, and it occurred to him that maybe if the Daily Prophet found out, they didn't need to know what he had to do with any of it. The fact that he'd likely permanently disfigured someone was second to the idea of doing more, of heaping on every reason he could for Emilian to stay away from Jory. If he ever regained the use of his personal areas again, the asshat would probably pick up where he'd left off, and even if he knew that Jory didn't like going back to the same person, from what he'd said about Mano, Lyric would rather just be sure.
He decided he'd send an anonymous owl later today. "Does his family read the newspaper?" he asked, thinking it sounded casual. He didn't pay a bit of attention to how obvious the question was, still distracted by thoughts of permanently stopping Emilian.

Mano eyed Lyric as he nodded. "Yes, all of our families do." He put his fist against his head. "His actions have already been reported in it, but I do not believe he has been in it recently." If Lyric was thinking of putting him in there again, he supposed it couldn't hurt, though he wondered if it would simply be swept under the rug again.

Lyric nodded and thought about it another few moments before finally looking aside at Mano. "So, what now?" he asked. He didn't know. Maybe he could go back to school, or maybe he should go by the Owl Post and send his owl first. Maybe he should go buy a dozen eggs and stop by the jewellery shop on the way back through Hogsmeade.

"Well, that's up to you. We could talk bad about Emilian, we could continue your lessons, you could run off up to the school like a good boy," Mano said, an easy smile on his lips. He didn't really expect Lyric to take him up on his offer, but really, it wouldn't be him if he didn't. And if he got a yes, then all the better.

Lyric looked sharply away at the reminder of lessons. He didn't like the sudden hard thud of his heart or any of the other feelings he couldn't control. He reminded himself of what Kane had said, that he couldn't control them, and he didn't have to feel guilty for them. Still, it was unpleasant at best, and he shook his head, Mano's other suggestions forgotten, if heard at all.

Mano tilted his head at Lyric. That was the reason that they had done it in the first place, to try to get Lyric comfortable with it. "Are you alright?" he asked. He wasn't about to force Lyric to do anything, at least not without his permission. "I thought you had made progress." Not a lot, but it was something.

Lyric shook his head, though half of the action was a refusal to think too hard about it. Any progress he'd made had been rendered null and void months ago. He'd been trying for Jory at first, then trying to fit in and have fun when he went out, and maybe part of him had tried it sober with Mano in another attempt at getting Jory back, even if he'd known it was impossible because he'd told and Jory hadn't liked him anymore. Somehow the whole friends thing had never really clicked for Lyric.
"I don't want to anymore," he said, and though he believed it to be true, there was still a part of him he couldn't confront that remembered how much fun it had been, and how much he'd craved that golden moment. The regret and self-hatred afterward was mostly forgotten.

"You don't want to, or you can't?" Mano asked. He couldn't help prodding just a little, he couldn't in good conscience let Lyric go on not wanting it, now, could he? It just wouldn't be right. He could work with can't, he couldn't work with don't want to. Maybe he could talk something through.

Lyric was tense already, and he didn't want to think about it, which was likely why he didn't think to make up an excuse. I don't feel like it might have worked, or I'm not touching you after you f~ed Jory, but neither of those things made it into his mind. Instead, all he could come up with was the simple truth. "Both." Whether or not those things were related didn't occur to him.

"You can talk to me," Mano said. "I'm willing to help." That was something he had always put out to people, no matter who they were. He was interested in helping, although the reasons he did so were probably not the most purely moral reasons in the world. It gave him connections, and he did enjoy becoming friends with people, especially when it was a challenge.

Lyric shook his head. "I don't talk about it, people hate me for it," he said. "I don't talk about it." He didn't care who said they could help, if he told, he'd just alienate himself from more people, and he wouldn't pretend it was just a misunderstanding. He'd been told by so many damned psychotrists that the way he felt was normal, that he was normal, and he didn't want to be normal. He wanted someone else to see how messed up he was, to see it and realize it. He was a freak, he knew it deep inside like he knew how to breathe.
