They were going out. They were going to London, and Markise didn't care where Ariel took him. At least, that's what he told himself. He wouldn't have dressed like this if they were just going to a Muggle movie, but that maybe for a night clubbing might as well have been a yes. He'd dressed to the nines to make sure Ariel would want to show him off, and not someplace poof would be whispered and coughed in his wake.
He'd gone blond for the night, just because he kept it dyed all the time now, with soft lavender tips that teased at the edges of his face and jawline. It drew the focus to his eyes, thick black lashes around pale, luminous blue. His lips were understated, but dewy and perpetually curved into a teasing smile that knew exactly the reaction it caused.
His clothes were a subtle throwback to Angel Vangelis, sleek white tailored slacks with well-shined shoes, and a white fitted vest that showed enough to tempt and hid enough to gently taunt. It was shot with delicate flaxen thread in a barely-there pattern visible when struck just so by the light. On his back were two embroidered wings, stylized and stretching across his shoulder blades.
Ariel knew exactly what he was wearing, he'd seen it at home, but it was still so cold that a heavy coat, scarf, and gloves were a necessity. A hat was too, but he refused to ruin perfection with hat hair.
Markise threw a glittering smile over his shoulder as they entered the Leaky Cauldron. Maybe it was because they didn't keep up with gossip as much as they should have, or maybe he was simply too excited to have thought ahead, but all that was on Markise's mind was the quickest way from the wizarding world to Muggle London and what awaited them there.

Ariel might have attempted to dress up, though that really didn't extend to much more than a slightly less frayed belt and slightly less worn shoes when it came to him. He didn't think about who might be watching to see them when he slid an arm around Markise and leaned in to whisper another soft you look amazing, even though he couldn't see most of Markise right then. No, he couldn't actually feel Markise beneath the heavy cloth, but it was close enough to tide him over.

Maverick had looked up at the opening of the door in his usual action to see who had shown up. His eyes narrowed, but he didn't show any other reaction to recognizing his brother walk in. He had heard things about Ariel, and that Markise kid, things he didn't like at all, that made him very glad he had disowned Ariel two years ago. Of course, it was hard to completely disassociate himself from his baby brother, there weren't exactly a lot of Aussies in the area, much less with the same last name. He kept glancing up to ensure that the two left quickly, only to catch that slide of his brother's hand against someone that had to be Markise.
"Hey!" he called when they were close enough to hear him. "Get the hell out." If he got any weird looks it was because they were new customers that weren't used to how he acted. He remembered Markise from the hospital, and how could he ignore the memory when the name was constantly thrown around both in his bar and in the Prophet?

Markise had been a heartbeat from kissing Ariel when a voice broke through. He swung his head forward, intending to give some brazen remark that died the moment he saw who that voice belonged to. His face fell, then formed a wicked smile enhanced by furious eyes. His gloved hand slid against Ariel's and he stopped in his tracks just to piss Maverick off.

Ariel had recognized the voice instantly and had to resist the instant gut reaction to jerk his arm back to his side and pull away from Markise. He didn't flick a glance over to his brother like he wanted to, instead he stopped along with Markise. "What do you say," he said. "We go over to tell my dear brother goodbye?" A corner of his lips quirked up at the thought.

Maverick's eyes couldn't get darker when the pair stopped instead of hurrying off like he would have liked. He handed off the bottles he had been holding and leaned back on the counter behind the bar, resting his palms on the rough surface as he watched the two from narrow eyes. "'Get the hell out' doesn't mean stop and kiss," he called.

Markise looked back at Ariel's softly spoken suggestion. Are you sure? he wanted to ask, but found the question unneccessary. The look on Ariel's face answered definitively, without a word. Fury tempered into heated mischief despite the sound of Maverick's voice. He wanted to leave, to seek the safety of someplace less dangerous, and focused his nerves into determination. He had that zapping spell, after all.
Markise took a breath, part of him begging to leave as another reveled in the chance to do this. But first, he was taking his coat off. He couldn't get to his wand like this, and he wanted it close.
He began with his gloves, tugging them gently free one finger at a time, studiously ignoring the intimidating Aussie at the bar. Winter-paled hands went for his zipper next, taking their time.

Ariel smirked at Markise's actions. Sure, he had seen it all at home, but it gave him a nervous thrill to let his eyes move over skin and cloth as it was revealed with his brother standing there close enough to hear and see. "I wonder how confused he is about the whole Angel thing," he mused softly as he brought his eyes up to Markise's.

Maverick's fingers curled tightly around the lip of the counter top as he watched, unable to look away as his brother all but showed off in front of him. There was a creak as old wood complained under his tight grip and tense weight and he pushed off to walk around the bar and head toward them. He would see them out himself if they wouldn't leave of their own accord.

The Angel thing. If Markise had seen Maverick coming, he would have stopped with his coat open and left it at that, but he had as much of his attention focused on his Gryffindor boyfriend as possible, and so he turned away from the bar. His coat slid free, revealing the shimmering wings on his back, a tease that would probbly be missed. He doubted a guy like Maverick would remember the name of someone he'd seen briefly over a year ago, but Ariel knew, and that was who this was for.

Ariel smiled and his hands slid smoothly against Markise's hips to pull him close for a few moments before they would turn to see his brother coming up to them. "You're dead sexy," he whispered, leaning in close enough for his breath to touch Markise's ear. Just a little bit of courage in the easy touch and words for the two of them before meeting up with Maverick.

Maverick wrinkled his nose at the little show and put a rough hand around Ariel's shoulder to pull him away and break it up. "The hell do you think you're doing?" he demanded, his voice low for the moment. He promptly ignored the other...guy as his eyes drilled holes through his brother's.

Markise was more than a bit startled at the seemingly sudden interruption, and took a brief moment to catch his breath before tapping Maverick on the shoulder. "Would you mind getting your hands off my boyfriend?" he asked, in his softest, most androgynous voice. "He's not into larrikins." Markise took a reflexive step back in case the guy swung at him.

Ariel rolled his shoulder out of Maverick's grasp. There had been a split second of fear that washed over him when his eyes met Maverick's at first. He felt like those eyes could tear him to pieces, then he had realized that Markise had spoken and he was pulled out of that lock. "I'd listen to him," Ariel said, giving a nod to Markise.

Maverick glared at his brother and jerked an elbow around to fend off the thing that was much too close for him. "Don't, touch me again," he said slowly, glaring. "You two don't have any f~ing place here and I don't want you showing around here." He wasn't sure which one he hated more, they were pretty even in that department.
