Free Time (Tori/Jory)

[Jory Addison]

Jory had been seconds from running off in search of a professor, preferably Eros, when Tori came to. "Are you okay?" he asked, still in minor shock from the simple fact of her passing out in front of him. "Do you always, like, pass out like that?" he asked, raising his eyebrows at her.

[Tori Riddle]

Tori chuckled a bit and said, "No I don't." She looked at him more like stared at him for a few moments before sitting up a bit.

"I... I saw something, in my mind. It was... more like a memory." Tori continued after a few minutes of gathering herself. She was still in shock of what she saw and wasn't exactly sure if she would believe him or not so she wanted to be careful.

"It.. it was the day I was born, I was definitely in a hospital and... I saw my parents, it was right after I was born... I... I was in my mum's arms... my dad's name is Richard... apparently... my mom was calling him that... I..." She gulped and closed her eyes for a second. Almost not wanting to believe it.

"What? That doesn't make sense." Jory barely had a thought for the brother his father hated mentioning whose name was Richard. "I didn't think people had memories from that early." Well, he guessed it was possible, anything was possible, wasn't it? "What did they look like?" he asked, sitting on his knees by the chair and looking up at her.

[Tori Riddle]

Tori sat up fully and leaned up against the chair still sitting on the floor and thought for a moment trying to remember.

"Um, the guy was pretty tall had black hair like mine and was wearing jeans and a um just a plain shirt I believe. The woman had dark brown hair and green eyes like mine. And yea normally they can't but I think it might of been the pendant that may have caused me to remember it." Tori said finally talking normal as she had finally gotten herself together after the small shock.

Well, yeah, that would be possible. Jewelry could be enchanted, Jory knew. "Well, at least, whatever happened, someone made sure you'd be able to remember." Had her parents known they wouldn't be able to keep her and so left a clue? Tori's story was getting more interesting by the minute.

[Tori Riddle]

Tori nodded in agreement, "Want to know the weirdest part of the whole entire dream/memory?" Not really in the mood for his reply because she was too confused about the whole situation.

"It was the fact that they did say my last name. However, it doesn't make any sense as to why it would be that certain last name." Now in the mood for awaiting his reply she sat back in amusement knowing that this might freak him out a bit.

Jory raised an eyebrow, "Okay..." So what was it? "Your name really is Riddle?" That would seriously suck, wasn't You-Know-Who's last name Riddle before he was all scary and lost his nose? "Or something lame like Smith or something?" He couldn't think of many last names that would be weird.

[Tori Riddle]

Tori chuckled at that but shook her head no and replied, "It's Addison." She looked away from him a little embarrassed and still in a bit of a shock.

Jory blinked, "But...that's my last name." Had he told her his last name? He couldn't remember, but he had to, or else she wouldn't be acting like this, or else she had just put it together in her head form a class or something. His eyes widened then. "My dad had a brother named Richard." No way, he had a cousin on that side of the family?

Tori looked sharply up at him before asking, "Do you remember what he looks like?"

Wanting to know exactly what was going on, she finally got up and was able to sit in a chair as the floor was getting quite uncomfortable for her.

Jory shook his head, "I never met Richard, him and dad were fighting. But everyone says me and dad look a lot alike, and if they're brothers..." He couldn't remember ever even seeing a picture of the man. He stayed where he was, bringing his hands to his lap to play with his spinner thumb ring.

Tori turned to look at Jory again and said, "You.. you don't think we could be related could you? I mean... the question is if we are, are my parents still alive?"

This was still new to her and even if they were fighting would Jory's family take me in? Would I get to leave the orphanage forever? This is something Tori has always dreamed about but she tried to keep her excitement in check in case his family wouldn't take her in.

"I don't know, I mean...how many Richard Addisons can there really be?" Jory's dad couldn't have known about his brother's daughters, if she really was related to him. If his dad had known, he wouldn't have let her go to an orphanage, even if he and her father had been fighting at the time. He knew his dad was a good person and would help a relative in need, especially a kid.

Tori looked up at him and sighed heavily, "Is there any way you can perhaps contact your dad maybe he knows something that we don't?" Tori asked desperately; where were her parents then if it's possible that Jory's father knew them where were they?

Jory shook his head, "I could owl him, but he hasn't talked to Richard since before I was born, I only know about him 'cause mum told me. I don't even know what the man looks like." His mother had thought it important to know family history, even the negative parts like family feuds. But what had happened to cause his uncle to leave his daughter?
