Verity traced the outside of her glass with her finger. It was cool and wet against her soft skin. There was something about the entire night that made her want to stop time and stay there forever. It was a rare occasion when she went on a real date. Sat down and talked to a guy. It was nice and she wondered why she hadn’t it really done it before. Verity looked up as the waitress came around. She smiled, yes, everything was ok. More than ok. Great. Amazing. Perfect.

Leo took the moment where Verity was distracted by the waitress to trace the soft lines of her face. He started wondering what it would be like to touch her, to kiss her, even. Then heat shot up to his ears as uncontrollable thoughts flashed through his mind and he looked away, clearing his throat. "So, what do you intend to do once you've graduated?"

Verity snapped out of her thoughts and brought her focus back to him. She bit her lip. The future. It was a dreaded topic. Something she tried to avoid at all times. She was hardly a planner. More like a take-it-one-day-at-a-time type of person. In the long run it was probably more stress than it needed to be, but for now the method worked. She used to know exactly what she was going to do: Spend her days living in her family’s beach house in Balos, maybe open her own clothing shop with her very own line. It was a dream come true. It still could be. In a couple of years she would have her trust fund and she could do with it as she pleased.
The Three Broomsticks was becoming more of a home to her than she would have ever expected. Some nights, if she’s working too late, she’ll just spend the night there in the apartment loft above. The old, creaking floors and whispering wind sounds which used to frighten her were now more comforting. She hadn’t expected to keep the Three Broomsticks past her time at Hogwarts, but it was always a good option for her to fall back on.
Verity had also considered being a nurse at St. Mungo’s. Potions were her strength, after all. If she could only get past her terrifying fear of blood, sores, and boils, then maybe it would be a good fit for her. Then again, Verity always liked children. She could become a teacher for young witches and wizards who were just barely getting to know their powers.
“I haven’t thought about it much.” Verity said which was partially true. She had hardly thought about it until just now. “I want to move far, far away.” She said, her eyes glazing over as she pictured her dream house. England was okay, only it got boring. And she had no intention of ever returning home after Hogwarts. It was pathetic, but it was all she could come up with at the moment.

"Do you hate this place that much, or are you just itching for adventure?" Leo asked, his eyes sparkling softly with the return of conversation. He could control conversation, he could handle it, he wasn't sure what he was supposed to do with those feelings he had when their eyes locked. Sometime he would figure it out, but for now he could focus on this conversation.

Verity shook her head. "No, I love it here!" She said maybe a little too enthusiastically. Verity spent most of her adolescent life traveling. It seemed like a strange idea to stay in one place. "I just want to travel, to see the world." Verity's eyes sparkled. The adventure played a great deal in her desire to see the world. She loved not knowing where she was going, seeing something new everyday. Well, maybe not every day. It would take at least four days to get all her shopping done in Paris. "Do you have any big plans after Hogwarts?" Verity asked.

"No," Leo said, shaking his head. "Just wherever the wind blows me." He hadn't thought about it. Well, he had thought about possibilities, about things he might want to do one day. "Just waiting for a reason I should do something." Nothing sounded overly appealing, there was no incentive to do anything once he got out other than living.

Verity closed her eyes for a moment. Just wherever the wind blows me. She liked that idea. It was free in every sense of the word. When Verity went on vacations with her parents when she was a lot younger, there was always a schedule. There was always something to do, somewhere to be. She rarely got to enjoy the places they went. Verity knew this went against allowing the wind to take you wherever it went, but she asked anyways. "Is there any place in particular you want to go?"

Leo was quiet for a few long moments in thought before he said, definitely, "Japan. And China." He would love to go to both of those countries, with their history and, for Japan especially, their high social standards. It would be an environment entirely different from what he had grown up in. It would be a welcome change. "What about you?"

Verity took a moment to think. Her mind jumped from continent to continent, country to country. There were so many places she wanted to see. How could there possibly be enough time to visit them all? Japan and China were definitely on her list, but she wanted to see all of Asia...and the rest of Europe, the Americas, Australia...the list went on. "Indonesia." Verity said finally. She had read about their culture and traditions. She was surprised at how completely different a country could be from one she was in now. It was the location of the Spice Islands, the center of early Modern History's trade.

"I haven't thought about Indonesia very much," Leo said. "That could be interesting, though." It wasn't high on his list of places to visit, though he wouldn't mind being able to say he had been just about everywhere on the globe. It would be quite the feat to set foot in each country, especially with their constantly changing borders.

"It's so fascinating." Verity said. "And it's so beautiful." Verity said, a sigh unwillingly coming out at the same time. She loved Hogwarts and for a little while it was everything she wanted: being in the same place for more than a couple of months at a time. Now she longed to travel, to see everything and everywhere. It was comforting knowing you had a place to come home to, but it was also boring.

"You'll have to show me," Leo said, grinning, though he immediately dropped his eyes. "Sorry, I didn't mean anything by that." He didn't need to imagine seeing the world with this admittedly attractive, interesting girl that he had just met a couple short hours before. It was certainly moving too fast, but he couldn't stop what came from his lips or what entered his mind.

For a brief moment, Verity’s smiled beamed. Then it faltered and she bit her lip. “It’s ok if you did, though.” She silently hoped he did mean something by it. She was having fun and she had already been with him for a couple of hours. Despite the earlier time in the common room, she was having a good time. She liked being with him. “And I’d love to show you someday.” She offered with a smile.

"Well, then, it's a date. See Indonesia on Someday at Sometime," Leo said, smiling as his eyes sparkled softly. "Perhaps I'll take you to eat Somewhere and we'll have Something." He grinned at himself and shook his head. "Okay, I'll stop now, sorry." But it was a fun little thing to expand on, or at least he thought so.

If there hadn't been a table separating the two of them, she would have whacked him on the shoulder. As it was, Verity just narrowed her eyes. "Funny." She said sarcastically. She fought to keep a straight face, but her lips twitched upward, a smile growing on her face, and before she could help it she was laughing.
