The cafe wasn't extravagant, but it was the nicest place there was in the area, and it had good food and a cheesy little gift shop where he could buy her some cheesy little stuffed animal if he felt like it at the end. "Here we are, after you," he said, opening the door for Verity. He intended to pull out her chair for her, as well, it was only polite.

Verity was still a little dizzy from the bus ride, but it hadn't been as bad as she remembered it being. "Thank you." Verity answered politely before walking into the cafe. It wasn't fancy or stuffy, which was nice. She always hated places like that. The cafe was comfortable and relaxing, and Verity enjoyed it. When he pulled out her chair she thanked him with a bright smile and a slight nod. Her cheeks tinted slightly to a soft shade of pink. He was being so nice, such a gentleman. It was nice, but different. Especially considering she met Jamie in the Common Room when he was completely wasted. "I like this place." Verity commented as she looked around. It wasn't too crowded and it wasn't too loud.

Leo nodded as he took his seat. "Yeah, it's nice. The owner's kind of stuck up, but that doesn't matter very much. I've been here a couple of times, people like to sit in here with books that are too big for them trying to impress others. Usually they have a magazine stuck between the pages." It was amusing how they all thought they were fooling each other.

Verity laughed. "People do the strangest things." She said. That's when it really hit her. She didn't even know his name. They were too busy snapping at each other in the Common Room to give a proper introduction. "Things like go on dates without even knowing who they're with." Verity added sheepishly. Her eyes grew wide and apologetic. "Forgive me, I don't know where my manners went. I'm Verity." She offered.

Leo actually laughed lightly at the realization that they hadn't so much as introduced themselves. "Leo," he said. "Nice to meet you, Verity. A pretty name for a pretty girl." He hadn't even noticed that they hadn't told each other their names, though he had heard the name before, probably mentioned in passing in his dorm one night.

Verity's cheeks flushed at the comment and it only made her smile a little more. She was never good with compliments, as much as she appreciated them. "It's nice to meet you, too." She said meeting his eyes. "Have you been going to Hogwarts long?" She asked. In two months, she had met a lot of people, but not nearly enough to know all of the gossip or being able to recognize a person in the halls from it.

"Yeah, I've always gone here," Leo said, nodding. "I can't imagine going somewhere else. What about you?" He thought that if she had gone to Hogwarts since she was a first year he would have recognized her, he probably even would have known at least her name. But he hadn't, so she couldn't have. A woman came by the table to take orders for drinks and he ordered a pumpkin juice.

Verity paused and ordered a water, still a little queesy from the bus ride. "No, I've only been at Hogwarts for a couple of months now." It was still surprising to hear herself say it. Two months is the longest she's stayed at one school, and it was even a little over that now. "I've been to many other schools. Maybe even hundreds." Many of them were small, with no more than fifty students, but they were also pretty secluded. It was nice at times, but lonely.

"Why do you move around so much?" Leo asked before thanking the woman when she brought the drinks back barely a minute after hearing the order. He was very glad his parents had stayed put, that was one thing they were good for. He wouldn't mind traveling, but traveling and actually moving were two very different things.

Verity thanked the waitress as well with a smile before answering. "My father has been remarried countless times." Enough to take the entire meaning out of marriage away from the concept. "With each marriage, I found myself at a new school in a new part of the world." Verity said shrugging it off. It wasn't a big deal to her, it was something she had gotten used to. She was lucky enough to get to travel to places in the world that most people never even knew about.

"Well, at least it makes things interesting," Leo said, smiling and holding up his glass in a mock toast. "Do you think you'll be gracing Hogwarts with your presence for the rest of your school career?" She had to be close to graduating, if not this year than next. It would be hard to have to change schools so close to graduating. At least, no matter how he disliked his parents, they were in a stable marriage.

"I hope so." Verity said smiling and raised her glass as well in a mock-toast before taking a sip. So far Hogwarts had been good to her and she risked a lot, at least in her mind, to hopefully stay there. "What about you?" Verity asked. "Does your family live in England?" She asked curiously, and to keep from droning on about her own boring family.

"Yes," Leo said, giving a nod. "Always have, probably always will. My parents have this hatred for people on the continent." He wasn't sure why, but they were always talking bad about the people that didn't live in the UK. "They're a little full of themselves, I promise I'm nothing like that," he said with a wink and a grin. Sure, he had a healthy ego, but it was a good thing, as long as he didn't use it for evil or anything.

Verity laughed a little. "My father's exactly the same." She said. It was part of the reason he never visited her at any of her schools, not that there was much to visit. She was the daughter he never needed, after all. "I try not to be like that." She said. It would be hard considering she spent most of her educational career in other countries with people who weren't from the UK, paired with the fact she tried to be as different from her father as humanely possible.

"Some people say our personalities are in our genes," Leo said. "That we can't fight them and we'll turn out exactly like our parents." He fought against that, though it was impossible to be completely different. He really couldn't stand stupid people. "I like to think that's not true." It was at least partially true, it had to be, people turned out like their parents way too often for it not to be true.
