Ani took a deep breath and tried to compose herself. She felt Chris had stomped away and on the way just happened to step on her heart. She didn't like it when they fought.
"There there." Lily patted Ani's shoulder. "Is he always like that?"
Ani shook her head and sniffled. "No. We used to be so close at home. Even when I came here we had a great relationship. But then he showed up and people found out that he was the natzi's little brother and they've been giving him crap since." Ani paused to press her lips together. She couldn't cry right out here in the open. "He blames me. Its my fault. If I wasn't so damn controlling..."

Lily patted Ani's shoulder again, this time more comfortably. She understood where Ani was coming from; her relationship with James at home had been an amazing bond but she wondered how it would be if she went home at that moment...ditching him without telling him why.
"Is there anything I can do?"

Ani instantly liked Lily more then she had before. It was incredibly nice of her to offer and of course she never had any real reason to do so. Ani had sort of forced her into this whole mess.
However Ani wasn't going to refuse the chance. She thought a moment and decided.
"Cheetos." It was a muggle food that she really enjoyed. "I'd give anything for a bad of cheetos."

Lily paused. Thoughtful. Cheetos. Where on Earth was she supposed to find Cheetos? It was a muggle food after all and she of all people would know that. Suddenly an idea popped into her head. The House Elves might have Cheetos, it was a kitchen anyway.
Lily smiled. "Okay Cheetos, coming right up."

"Don't bother with the house elves." Ani sniffled she could feel herself starting to tear again. It jsut seemed like nothing today could be done right. "I checked with them the first fight I had with Chris. They don't have muggle food."
Then Ani had to lean against the wall. She felt utterly defeated. She put her hand on her forehead and slid down the wall till her but was touching the ground. Her knees were up and she tucked her head between them and wrapped her arms around her head. Then against all her will she started to cry. Small silent tears dripped down her nose.
"I'm sorry." She said trying to sound normal. "It was an unreasonable demand. Maybe you should leave."

Leave. Leave? Ani had just put Lily up to all of that and she was asking Lily to leave. Oh no, Lily could not do that. But if she didn't move Ani might kick her butt, rip it off, dance on it. Whatever, it didn't really matter. All Lily knew was she wasn't going to move.

Ani really appreciated Lily staying with her. Even when she was so out of control because of Chris. Ani had many long time friends willing with her through the post fight time but this was the first time someone Ani had almost bullied into it had stayed.
She sniflled slightly but didn't move to get up. She wasn't going anywhere until the last minute possible whether come hell or high water. She needed time.

Lily knew how it was like, fighting with your sibling; James and her did it all the time. But still Lily felt sorry for Ani because Ani seemed really really upset. Lily pursed her lips. She sat next to Ani and patiently waited until Ani would do the next move.

It took Ani about four minutes and thirty nine seconds to recover herself. It wasn't as hard as it had been the first fight but it was hard enough to leave tear stains on her face.
She pulled her head up with a sniffle and removed her shoe. She took it off whispered a transfiguring word and ta-dah. A mirrior. Ani checked what little make up she wore. applied some where there were tear tracks, and smiled shakily at Lily. Then she transfigured her mirrior back to a shoe and stood dusting off her butt.
"Thanks for waiting it out." Ain again smiled shakily. "Brothers are pains. Especially since you love them."

"Brothers are pains. Especially since you love them." Lily nodded. She knew exactly what Ani meant. It was the same feeling she felt with James, only their fights were not as extreme as Ani and her brother's fights.
"Well, you don't have a brother who tries to be right all the time." Lily tried to make Ani feel better even though she was doing a very poor job. "Usually i don't win. James just knows where my weak spots are, you know? He's very manipulative for a nine year old." She awkwardly pet Ani on the shoulder. "But i'm here for you." And she smiled, letting Ani know that she meant it.

Ani was shocked. Lily had a brother? Huh. This was good. This was great! Something to chat about with Lily. Great news.
"Is that who you were writing to?" Ani asked. "Up in the Owlery?"

Suddenly Lily felt so rotten, so guilt ridden...maybe she shouldn't have mentioned James...
She looked at the ground. "Yeah, it was. I just felt so bad i left him without a goodbye; he knows none of this wizard stuff. I was about to tell him but Mum and Dad made me leave before i got the chance to."

Ani could tell Lily felt bad about leaving her brother. Ani had orginally felt bad about leaving Chris too but she was pureblood. He knew where she was. He knew that they were going to be at the same school in three years. He didn't have to worry which made Ani not worry. Lily didn't have that kind of security.
Ani patted Lily's shoulder. "You know the whole magical thing runs strong in siblings." It wasn't a lie. There was plenty of evidence. "He'll probably have magical ablities."

Lily felt comforted by Ani's advice, but still felt hesitant.
"It's not the same though, because both of my parents are muggles. I don't even know how i got my powers. I guess i just got lucky." She paused and thought over what Ani had said. "But I do miss him, maybe he'll get lucky too."

Ani patted Lily again. She knew Lily wasn't worried about nothing. It was possible her brother wasn't going to have magic. Especially since she didn't know who in her family had the magic.
"You can tell him you know." Ani suggested. " Familes are allowed to know. Maybe he'll understand."
