"Why does everyone say that?" Lyric wondered aloud. "I'm me, just like everyone else." He knew that wasn't entirely true, even in his current state, but it was too difficult to pick through the details. He was him, despite the obvious differences from other people. He was damaged, he was dangerous, but he was still only him. Why did he have to be one way all the time? What was wrong with acting different sometimes?

"Despite inconsistency, there is always a constant." her statement was a contradiction, a paradox of some sort. No one was ever the same, yet if a person is fun-loving it would have still shown through in some form or another. “Have you ever considered that if everyone say’s it, then maybe it could be true.” had she been the only one then yes it could have been that her judgment was flawed. “Listen, I’m not asking you to do something for me or to somehow admit that yes there is some sort of problem, if there is of course, I’m just saying this because sometimes people can’t see themselves the way others do.” [/color] she wasn’t a shrink, nor was she ever used to giving advice, btu sometimes the best advice was blunt.[/blockquote]

"And sometimes people are too busy wanting you to be someone else that they don't want to see who you are," Lyric said. He rounded the end of the bed to sit down, then let the canopy fall to rest behind him as he reached for his boots. So there were different sides of him? Everyone had different sides of him. He didn't see what the problem was with being able to be happy sometimes. He just couldn't be this happy any other way, and he wasn't giving it up to hate himself all the time.

That was very true, she folded her hands in front of her, so he was leaving. "And sometimes people are too busy trying to hide who they really are and become someone they feel like they need to be." [/b] she felt like today was probably him. Some form of him that had been hidden for so long and only came out today for whatever reason. Before, he probably was being himself, but it wasn't really him] almost like there was a barrier a cold wall and today it had crumbled to dust. Was he building it back again? Celyn was watching him carefully, not assessing him per se, but trying to figure out what had brought upon a difference. Was it a spell? No, she could tell when someone was under a spell, they acted happy, but their eyes showed that it wasn't them. Trent's eyes had displayed joy, and a childish humor that she liked, but there was something else, something she felt like she had seen so many times when she would visit the U.S for vacation, but what was it?[/blockquote]

That was it, though. He wasn't hiding who he was. He was both, he was furious with the world, angry at life and everything in it, but he wanted to laugh and forget. He could forget, he could have fun, but that didn't erase the anger. It was always there, all of him was always there, and people only insisted one wasn't real because it was the one they didn't want to see.
Lyric tied off his boots high enough to keep them on, then grabbed his duffel bag to zip it open. "I'm keeping this," he said. With that, he began the process of stuffing the canopy inside. It was fun, and he didn't want to let her win.

Celyn wouldn’t press on anymore. If he insisted it was nothing then maybe she was just so keen on believing it was something, maybe his coming dangerously close to doing something she didn’t like had made her brain jump to conclusion, she was after all human. She watched him stuff the canopy in his bag and broke out into a smile despite the conversation that had just been ‘concluded’. “Fine, but I will get it; even if it means having to sneak up on you in the corridor.” [/b] ‘end it on a good note’ her mother always told her that.[/blockquote]

Lyric's lips curved into a smile at the girl's teasing threat. "You'd have to find me first," he said. He shoved the last of the canopy into his bag, then tugged the zipper across to close it. "I'm warning you, I'm good with a wand." Sneaking up might not be the best idea, but if she wanted to, at least now she knew. Chances were that he wouldn't be in this particular mood if she came across him in a corridor somewhere.

While she knew she wouldn't be jumping out of a dark corner or randomly tackling him, the idea was still amusing- Celyn would find a way to get that canopy. "You haven't seen me use my mine." [/b] she could imagine him hexing her if she did just so happen to sneak up on him she'd be sure to have her wand out. "Then I guess might be seeing you around. If only to get my canopy back." she wouldn't mind something as fun as today, but she’d make sure to keep to a safer level, no repeats of today.[/blockquote]

Lyric's smile melted into a secretive smirk as he stood, pulling the strap of his duffel bag up over his shoulder. He wouldn't give her any more warning than he had, wouldn't tell her where he'd learned to fight or why. It was better letting people underestimate him. "See you," he said. He tossed a glance over his shoulder at the girl, wondering if he'd remember her the next time, then headed out the door.
