"Sounds fun," Markise said. "I'll have to let Ariel know." He didn't want Ariel's protective streak coming out because he was being pulled out to the Bloody Mary, of all places. It wasn't like he could get into any trouble there, but hadn't Ariel followed him before? And Ariel hadn't even liked him then. He lowered his voice. "Hopefully you and Quinn can work things out this time," he said. "The more the better." And the less he'd have to worry about playing the role of parent.

Quinn smoothed out her shirt against the white pants she still had on, that were her favorite, when she decided to step out and show Markise. She looked over at him and Jory standing there in clothes that she couldn't have imagined him in. Her eyes widened a bit and she didn't know what to say, "you, look good Jory." It was all that she could think to say, and if his ego needed the stroking, she would help, because Markise did that for her.

The flush moved up to Jory's cheeks and he smiled. It would always be weird around Quinn, he thought, but he would try. "Thanks," he said. "You, too." She did, even if he never would have looked at her twice in the halls or something. He never really paid much attention to the people around him, much less girls. He was getting better at it, though.

Thank God. He didn't care what Jory was thinking, as long as he stopped his half of whatever bickering he'd missed out on last time. He forced his party smile into place. "Great, you both look awesome. You'll be dancing all night." Sure, Jory would have to dance with girls if he wasn't dancing with Markise, but they wouldn't be sitting around on their asses.

A fast blush caught over Quinn as she thought about dancing with other people besides Lyric. She might have to ask for a few quick tips on what dancing was, as she was certain that people must not dance like that in public. She looked up at both of them, a shimmering smile on her face though, she was actually making friends outside of Lyric she thought.

"You might not wanna stand too close to me," Jory said. "I've never danced before." He had never had any reason to dance before, and he had definitely never gone anywhere where the whole point was to dance, not even dances at MI. Hopefully he wouldn't look too stupid on the floor. He really didn't want to make a complete fool of himself.

"Never?" Markise asked. "Come on, everyone dances." People danced at clubs, at parties, at home with the Wizarding Wireless turned up. "It's like, an instinct." Even Ariel danced. His mind had blocked out that first night at Popstarz, but even if it had made it into his mind, he'd have been certain that most of Ariel's problem had been that he couldn't control his d~.

Quinn looked down at her feet, "how instinctual is dancing. I mean I've only danced once," and she wasn't going to tell Markise about it, not in front of Jory, not when she'd finally gotten him to calm down about the Lyric thing. It had been an amazing dance, "there were lots of lights and fast music." Really fast music, music that had a deep beat, something that beat against the rhythm that was beating in her soul at the time.

Jory had been telling the truth about never dancing, so he certainly hoped it was instinct, or else he would make a fool of himself. "Like I said, never. There wasn't any reason to at my old school." And here there hadn't been much reason to, either. Maybe that was one of the reasons he was so dead-set on having a good time later.

"You can't mean never," Markise told Jory. "I don't even know how you could only dance once. Don't you dance in your room? When you were a kid? I don't mean like professional, but just..." Markise gave a little shuffling dance to some imaginary music. "You just move." Now he was going to be a dance instructor, too. He'd done it for Anna, but it had only been once, and only been her. She'd been flirting him and it had been fun.

Quinn was content to take the backseat on this one, she didn't want to have anything to do with this line of questioning. She and her sister had twirled when they were younger, but what Lyric had shown her wasn't twirling, it was much more, primitive, unexpected. She ran a few fingers through her hair and decided that when they talked to her she would say something.

Jory shook his head. "I didn't say in my room much, anyways. I was outside a lot." Even with Layne he was outside a lot. "I mean...I like music, but you don't really dance to Indie music much." At least not that he had ever heard. It wasn't like he had even been in a dancing situation to know what kind of music they did dance to, though.

Markise was still in disbelief, but he didn't feel like arguing. "Well, you're going to dance at the Bloody Mary," he said. "So you won't be able to say that anymore. You'll start dancing all the time, it's addictive." And he hadn't been getting nearly enough of it. In fact, when they left, he was hunting down Ariel. He needed a little sanity, and if something else happened while they were at it, all the better.

Jory shrugged, though he smiled. "Well, if that happens I think I'll live. You just can't make fun of me if I look weird," he said, then started searching for his clothes. He wasn't going to change with Markise and Quinn there close, but he could at least find the clothes. This was going to be fun, and he was going to learn something new.
