[Markise Sterling]

Markise looked between the two, but didn't say anything just yet. It didn't surprise him that Quinn would invite Jory too, and sadly didn't surprise him that Jory was immediately suspicious. Jory had self-esteem issues that Markise knew he'd never understand and wouldn't want to. He blew another bubble and continued to smooth out the shirts on the counter, quietly declaring himself an observer unless needed.

"I don't have anything against dancing," Jory said. Well, he wouldn't if he had been able to go dancing before. "I just don't know why you're inviting me when...well..." When we fought the first time we met. It just felt like a trap of some kind. His eyes dropped for a moment and he gave a lopsided shrug. The suspicion was fading slowly into curiosity, though he still wasn't ready to drop his guard.

How did Quinn put this delicately, he obviously got touchy, he'd been touchy the last time they had met. "The world should be an ideal place to live, and I want to make it that way. It means that even if I get off on the wrong foot with someone, I try again." There she meant it, but it had taken every bit of skill in socialization she'd learned over the last few months to phrase it in a way that wouldn't offend Jory.

Jory eyed Quinn for a moment, eyes flickering from her to Markise and back again before he gave a little nod. He was still wary, but he was willing to call a truce. "Okay," he said finally, nodding again. He would give her another chance, though he didn't see himself fully trusting her for a while. Whatever happened, it was going to get interesting.

She was glad that was settled, after all Lyric still thought they would make good friends, although she still couldn't determine why. "Well then, we'll have fun." She said it with a decisive nod, as though there was no other option. She turned her head back to Markise, a smile curving her lips, "does that mean that I can play dress up now?" She would of course pay for anything that she bought, but it felt fun to say things like that, things that she would have said to her sister, although this was two men, not a part of her soul inhabiting another body.

Markise blinked and looked up, glad that there hadn't been any screaming fights this time. He glanced at Jory, who still looked like he expected to be kicked in the balls at any time, then at Quinn, who looked perfectly content. "Yeah, you can play dress-up now," he said, then looked back at Jory. "You can play too, I don't charge for looking." And if someone got attached to something, all the better.

Jory's eyes jumped to Markise at that. "I can?" He promptly forgot any thoughts of what had just happened in light of the chance of doing what he had been meaning to do here since he got his Christmas money. His eyes brightened at the idea. "That'll be cool," he said, a smile pulling at his lips. He wasn't the best at picking things out, though he tried. Doing this with Markise would help.

Quinn wanted to give Markise a big hug, at least Jory seemed like he had chilled out some. Although, even though clothes were nice for Quinn, her goal was more weeding and replacing the clothes that her step-father had required she wear. Instead she blinked up at him, "I really like that shirt from last time Markise, do you have something similar....except maybe warmer?" It had been a little cold sitting waiting for Lyric, but she had like feeling a tad bit more confident in her skin.

Markise smiled for both of them and nodded for Jory. "Go ahead," he said. He thought for a moment about what Quinn had bought last time before he could pull up a picture of it in his mind. "I've got stuff in the same style," he said. "And you can throw a cardigan over anything." Spring fashions were already starting to come in, and if Quinn wanted to stay ahead, he'd show her how to do so.

Jory nodded before going off to wander around the shop. Of course, he had no idea what he was looking for, so he called Markise over to ask what he thought he should get. He wasn't sure what the night was going to be like, but he wasn't going to let the fact that Quinn was there get him down this time. He needed to have a little fun.

While Markise wandered with Jory, Quinn headed over to the racks of vibrantly colored tops. She was okay with these pants, but her shirt, it felt nice to have such eye catching colors. It meant she could stand out, not blend into the wall. Standing out would get the attention that would be needed for her to platform. And the more confident that she felt, the better she would be able to do everything she wanted, Quinn thought.

Quinn seemed happy to look around, so Markise put on a smile and headed for Jory. "Do you need some help?" he asked. From what Jory was wearing now, it seemed like pointing him toward the fitted tees and hoodies would be enough, but then, had Jory actually looked at anything last time? Markise would show him around if he needed it.

Jory glanced around, "Um..." He wasn't sure what to ask for. His clothing choices hadn't really changed...well...ever. Now, he liked the idea of doing something different, even if it was only for a night. "I want to dress up...you've got some really cool stuff." Beyond the jewelry he chose he put very little thought into what he wore.

"Thanks," Markise said. He looked around, his eyes catching on the things he liked, though he had so many different styles that it would be impossible to tell what it was that Jory thought was so cool. "What do you like?" he asked. "Pick something, we'll figure out what to do with it."

Jory hmmed softly to himself as he looked around to see what all there was. It was the first time he had really looked at what was available. After a few moments he pulled out a shirt that looked like something the lead singers of the punk and indie bands he liked would be wearing. He seriously doubted any of the guys in his dorm would wear it, and even he didn't have anything close to it. "I like this," he said.
