Markise nodded and gestured for Jory to follow him. If that was what Jory liked, then he'd just find a pair of pants to go with it. He paused nearby and looked Jory over, picking through the jeans and layers of shirt to guess at his size, then grabbed something that would work. "What about these?" he asked.

Jory smiled and nodded at what Markise picked up. "Yeah," he said, "How'd you get into this?" Markise was good at this, and Jory was mentally picking out what things he would wear tonight. He couldn't believe they were actually going to be going to a club. Granted, it was a student's club and there probably weren't going to be any guys there, but it was going to be fun.

Markise glanced aside at Jory. "I just always had a thing for it," he said. "I like clothes. There are so many possibilties, it's like... a way to see people's personalities and who they are, or who they think they are, who they want to be. It tells stories." He shrugged and grabbed another pair of pants. It was strange saying any of that out loud, but Jory had asked, hadn't he? "You want to try these on?"

Jory nodded as his eyes trailed over the pants. "So you can really tell all that just from clothes?" he asked, glancing around at the wide variety. He supposed that it made sense, since the quidditch guys always seemed to dress the same. "Bet it makes it really fun to people watch." He glanced down at the items he held, then over to the dressing room. This was as good a start as any.

People-watching was a guilty pleasure, Markise thought. He gave Jory a small smile at that, but wouldn't verbally confirm since it went without saying. He rarely allowed himself the freedom to watch, and when he did it was usually Ariel, but he couldn't find much fault in that, considering how much he enjoyed it. He grabbed a few more items for Jory before sending him back to the dressing rooms.

Jory slipped off to a dressing room and disappeared behind the door to leave Quinn and Markise to themselves for a little while. He had plenty of things to try out and figure out what he wanted to get and what he liked the most. He had money, but not enough to go out and buy every single thing he wanted to, so he started pairing things up to find the best candidates.

Quinn had been looking, but she knew better than to try and pick things out on her own, after all this was Markise's territory, not her own. She looked over to the dressing room that Jory had just slipped into, and wondered if it was safe to talk to Markise at all, if not she'd wait until Jory left to talk to him. She blushed as she ran a hand down a soft sweater, thinking about what she might be saying to him.

Markise reflexively looked for Quinn once Jory was hidden away again, and he saw her blushing, saw the look on her face. He wanted nothing to do with her talking about Lyric right now, but as he crossed toward her, he doubted that he had a choice. Who or what else could she possibly be thinking about? He didn't ask. He put on a smile and instead asked if she'd seen anything she liked.

Quinn turned to Markise with a smile, her eyes glittering at the excitement she was feeling. Going to a club, getting new clothes, she loved being able to send time with someone that was as nice as Markise. "Does the whole store count," she asked with a chuckle. "If you gave me a lifetime in here, I don't think that I could choose." Who could she thought, soft fabrics, or loose fabrics, sometimes hard fabrics. She loved the freedom of choosing her own clothes, and knowing that she looked good in them.

"Win the lottery and you won't have to choose," Markise teased lightly. He knew he wasn't fooling anyone, but it was a nice thought having a customer with so much money to spend. He turned into the rows and racks of clothing, looking for the shirt she'd mentioned earlier. Like the last one, but warmer. He didn't have winter clothing left, but he did have a long blue shirt with cap sleeves and a black cloth belt that rode beneath the bustline. It closed with a silver butterfly, and would look good with any number of spring cardigans and her latest pair of jeans. He told her so as he gathered the pieces together.

Quinn smiled at what Markise was gathering, she liked the colors, the feeling, just freedoms she thought. "Is that how you got this store? You won the lottery? It must feel like it. There are so many colors everywhere." She couldn't help a little laugh, "I think I'm jealous. I love my wand shop, but it's all browns, or deep hues. Everything here is so....vibrant." She decided she liked vibrant, living life on the edge like tomorrow didn't exist, because maybe it didn't.

Markise smiled, but said nothing about how he'd gotten the shop. It had been stupid, despite the fact that he couldn't regret it, and he was sure that even Ariel didn't know exactly how he'd gotten that investment. Of course, he hadn't known that Larten was rich as Croesus when he'd been talking about the shop, had he? If he had, he certainly hadn't been thinking about it at the time. "Spring fashions are always fun, especially after winter," he pointed out.

Quinn shook her head, "it's not just the spring fashions Markise." She gestured at him, "you're part of it too. With your bright hair." She looked at it again, wondering how he'd managed those hues, and that they looked good on him. "You make shopping fun. I mean, what could be more fun that shopping with someone who looks like they could pull of everything in the store." She chuckled, "it's like the best dress up party ever."

Markise's smile was genuine this time, and he reached up to lightly fluff his lavender curls. "Point taken," he teased. He'd never considered his personal style adding that much to the shop, but he liked thinking of it. Even those who didn't approve might at least come in out of morbid curiosity.

Quinn gestured at the clothes in Markise's arm, "so what are you going to wear tonight? I mean, I know there are clubs in England, since my shop is in Diagon Alley, but what is this club like?" Was it fast paced, was the dancing filled with bright lights and heavy breathing. She closed her eyes and imagined, wondering if it would compare to the room of requirements. After all, she'd been able to paint the walls.
