Michael nodded, "Yes, well, I'm not sure if it's as much letting as we-don't-give-them-a-choice. They're usually pretty lenient about students being in Hogsmeade and sometimes even Diagon Alley. We couldn't stay in our dorms anymore, so we had to do something." He remembered that day Dare had come home with sores all over his back, and he knew that it would have been so much worse if they had stayed in the dorms.

"But I broke about three school rules just coming here today." Zilnafa argued. "How's it that you managed to force them into letting Dare come here?"
She really wanted to know. It would give her a chance to see if she could come back to Diagon Alley to check books. And maybe she could lie, when she finally found her family, and tell Headmistress Hells that she was going to Diagon Alley but instead ditch to go to her parents Manor. That would be excellent.

"They don't seem to care very much if you have business outside of the school. I have a friend that owns the club in Hogsmeade, and a couple of guys I know live above Sterling Style. And me and Dare live here." It was so much safer to live here instead of trying to make it at school. Besides, Michael didn't think he could survive being away from Dare all the time.

Zilnafa sighed. Being with Micheal, who was so much in love with Dare, made her long for a relationship. She'd never wanted one before. Ever. In fact she liked to avoid them. All of them, any of them. They never seemed much for her. And she'd met no guys she liked. And now that she'd met two guys she could potentially like, (she didn't. Mostly because she didn't beleive in the whole love at first sight thing and she wanted to know who they were first), they turned out gay. Oh well. at least she might have a great friendship with them.
"So does Dare stay at Hogwarts finals week?' She'd heard that most students studied through the night and maybe Dare didn't have time to go home.

Michael shook his head, "He didn't last year. The dorms aren't safe, even if he wanted to stay there he couldn't." He hated what happened to them both, and especially Dare, but he was glad they were able to stay together. There wasn't any way that either of them would want to part for a night, especially when that meant one would be staying in the dorms.

One word out of the entire sentence made Zlinafa perk up. Well maybe more then one but still the one she knew was going to ask about. Safe. She knew it wasn't always safe at Hogwarts. Kids were really kind of cruel there, when something was different or out of place. But had Dare really beem attacked?
"What happened at Hogwarts?" She questioned and Alba growled in protest as her arm unconciously tighten. "Why isn't it safe?"

"Hogwarts itself is safe, it's just that people don't like what we chose. They did a lot of things, they messed up my sketchbook, put things in Dare's bag, used spells against Dare," Michael said, shrugging lightly. He remembered Dare coming home after being hurt so badly. "They didn't agree with us, so they tried to do things to us. I think they thought we could bring us apart."

"Hogwartians are more often stupid then not." Zilnafa knew that. Most of them had been so dumb that hadn't noticed how kind Micheal was and how kind Dare was...probably. She hadn't met Dare yet.

"Yes, us and Elouai here," Michael said, nodding. "It's not a lot, but it's nice." It was more than they had had in the beginning. They had been living in three rooms for the longest time, until Dare's father had given them a third floor. "So you live at the school, do you like it up there?" he asked, realizing just then he hadn't been asking her questions to let her give him information.

"No. It's hell." She wasn't sure if that was a good answer but some one would have to know that truth and he seemed like the less likely person to kill her.
Abla grumbled and hopped to Zilnafa's shoulder, and licked her ear. Zilnafa giggled. Abla licked again this time purring.
"So when'd you get to move up here?"

"We've been here for a little over a year, and we were living in our friend's apartment for a few months before that," Michael answered. "What's so bad about Hogwarts?" He had never had much fun there, his years had been hard, but he deserved it. He had done so many things wrong and he didn't blame the people in the school giving him a hard time about everything.

A year. Wow. Zilnafa had never even heard of a relationship that lasted that long. Mostly because the Mother wasn't allowed to have her attentions divided by a husband/boyfriend and Ulan couldn't even remember the girls he met.
"I'm different." She shrugged responding to Micheal question. "I prefer to hit people when we're fighting instead of just saying nasty words; I can't follow rules I don't think are nessary or useful; I don't know who my parents are, so I might not even be pureblood which is unacceptable in Slytherin."

Michael watched Zilly for a few long moments, thinking back over time. It had been a long time, but he remembered feeling like that. "I used to get into fights, but with my wand," he said. "And having a civil partnership ceremony with a male halfblood isn't exactly the most Slytherin thing to do, either." He was far from the perfect model of a Slytherin, much less a person.

She got control of herself. "Sorry."
"So where did you and Dare get...married is it? Or civil partners?"

Michael had given a light chuckle at Zilly's club, he liked this girl. "It's fine," he said, before he answered her question. "We're civil partners," at least in England. "They don't allow same-sex marriages in England, or in America, where Dare's from." So there was nothing else they could have done, until Eros had shown up with those papers. "We had it outside the Forbidden Forest this past summer."
