Michael chuckled softly at that as Elouai trotted over to the girl. "Not all Slytherins are emotionally unstable," he said. "I can't say I'm the most sane person in the world, though I'm much better than I used to be." All because of Dare. He mentally sighed, he really, really needed to get out more. "All the houses have their share of emotionally unstable students." Elouai sat and tilted her head up curiously at the girl, her tail wagging against the wooden floor. She was practically smiling, her tongue hanging out for the world to see.

Zilnafa scratched the puppy's chin with her fingers while mentally disolving the plan to get bitten. The puppy was soft and so far sweet but maybe it hadn't caught sight of her ankles yet.
"They all seem unstable to me." She replied. "Everything here is unstable. Even me. It's gotta be the water." She shrugged. "What's the puppy's name?"

"Her name's Elouai," Michael said, scooping up the little silver cat to perch it on his shoulder. "Things can be crazy around here, but if you look hard enough you'll find something, or someone, that's worth it all." It had taken him a few tries and in the end it hadn't truly been his choice. But now he was so happy...in between all the craziness.

Zilnafa sat on the floor before Elouai and buried her fingers into the puppy's chest fur. "That's a neat name." She crooned. "You have a pretty name, Elouai. A very pretty name, yes you do. Yes."
She looked up at the shopkeeper and blushed. She was cooing at his dog. Whoops. "No, I don't need that something or someone. I'm going to travel when I get out of school. I'm gonna look for my family." She paused. "So what or who did you find?"

"You can always travel with someone," Michael said, though he didn't push the subject. "I found Dare, my partner." And more, though the ceremony in Spain was theirs, nothing to broadcast to everyone else. "He chose Elouai, and her name." He remembered that day, it had been a year ago, before all the junk with the potions had started up. That was a time that he thought it would always hurt to think of. But it had been worth it to get back what they had had before, even if it had taken much too long.

Dare? She'd heard that name before. Somewhere...somewhere...oh. Hogwarts. He was from Hogwarts but that's about all she knew.
"Partner?" Zilnafa looked up from the incredibly adorable dog. "So are you...gay?"
She felt awkward saying it. She'd met people in Africa who were...gay as well and there were people at her orphanage who were also gay. But gay was such a harsh word and it seemed so...impersonal and not like Jory or the shopkeeper who name she didn't know. She was thrilled that the shopkeeper couldn't read her thoughts because this was certainly crazy.

Michael nodded, "I wasn't until I met Dare, but yes." Or he always was and just hadn't known, or he had refused to admit it. Whatever the reason, he was now, and happier than he had ever been before in his life. He eyed the girl curiously, wondering what her opinion was on the matter. She seemed awkward, but very few people were ever completely comfortable around him and Dare. "I'm Michael, by the way, Michael Blackwood-Hardt."

She wondered how Micheal and Dare found each other. And though she didn't mind the whole age difference, how was that going to work? Did Dare come visit on the weekends like she did? Or did Micheal head up to Hogsmeade on Dare's weekends? It was a curious thing. She'd never dated anyone before but it seemed like fun.
"Zilnafa." She stuck out her hand. "But you can call me Zilly. How'd you meet Dare?"

"Last year in school," Michael said, neglecting to mention his age or why he had been in school at the age of twenty. "I met him at the edge of the Forbidden Forest, showed him this little clearing and we talked. We both draw, so we did that." And it grew from there, to something unbelievably amazing. Yes, they had had their ups and downs, horrible downs and amazing ups, but the good times were worth it.

Zilnafa cocked her head at Micheal and blinked trying to judge his age. He was definatly older then nineteen. Too old be have gone to school last year.
"Why were you at school when you weren't seventeen?" She asked bending back to Elouai. "Don't tell me if you don't want. I'm just curious."

Michael sighed softly and leaned on his arms against the countertop. "I was homeschooled until I got to seventh year, so when I got here I was really behind in a lot of things. It took me a while to get caught up." It was a simple enough answer, though he hadn't seen a reason to say it without being asked about it.

"Huh." Zilnafa shurgged. "I'm behind. School is hard when you have to catch up. I feel you."
She scrunched her nose at Elouai and scratched her ears. She hadn't forgotten about her pet on the counter, not for one moment. But this dog hadn't spotted her ankles yet and she was going to spend all time with her pet.

"If you ever need help with Defense or Potions you can come to me, those were the two I was really good at. Transfiguration was hard, Charms was okay," Michael said, shrugging. It wasn't bad to do badly in something, it could be hard to get caught up. As long as the person worked hard, they would be able to do well enough to pass and graduate. "There are plenty of people that are willing to help someone."

Zilnafa laughed. "The only thing good about having a drunk tutor is that when he gets drunk enough he'll teach you potions and defense spells and inevitably mess them up." She shrugged, and made a face. "But as long as you know the basic's of a spell or potion, its not that hard to figure out."
She smiled at Micheal and Elouai. "Those are the only two subjects in school I am at least caught up in. It's muggle studies I'm having issues with."

"Well, I'm definitely not the one to ask about that," Michael said. For Dare to be a halfblood, Michael knew a painfully small amount of information about muggles. His upbringing had hindered him when it came to even attempting to understand muggles, and he had never taken Muggle Studies to begin trying to understand.
