On her way inside the new school, Lalita noticed the shimmering lake nearby. Now, after she dropped her things and made herself at home she walked back to the water. The wind was perfectly making her hair flow to her back and away from her eyes as she scanned the surface of the lake. She ran a hand through her dark hair and then crossed her arms in front of her. Moving had never been tough before, but she had a feeling when the time came, it would be tough to leave this place behind. Of course, this was all only a first impression, there were many things that could change her mind still.

Ariel knew he probably shouldn't be outside, but he had only been out with Markise for two months. He could either be alone inside or outside and in the tension that was Markise. But right now, he had just talked to Markise an hour or so before, so he was free for a little while. He wasn't paying any attention to anyone that may have been out and around, or close to him. He was paying attention, however, to the thin black stick he had found deep in one of his drawers. It smelled so good. No, he wasn't going to light it or smoke it, but smelling it was a relief, if a tease.

Hearing the sound of a person behind her, Lalita turned her head to the source of it. The sudden movement caused her hair to brush up against her face but with a quick movement she pushed her hair back into place to allow her eyes to focus on the guy who had appeared. He did not seem to have seen her yet, and for that Lalita took the opportunity to observe. He had the blond hair she had always been envious of, whether it was the darker kind or the lighter she had always wished to be a blonde. Although, being Indian it would never had worked out. Breaking her stare she called out, "Hello."

Ariel jerked his hand down, pulling the stick away from his nose and snapped his eyes open. He curved his fingers around the cigarette, tucking it against his palm. He looked over at the source of the voice, a girl that he registered as good looking, though it didn't mean much to him. He examined her from behind the safety of his curtain of hair to try to figure out if she had been watching him. "Hey," he said finally, cautiously. There was an air around him like a rabbit that would run if the slightest quick movement was made.

"You can smoke if you really want to. I'm around smokers a lot, I don't mind it." Lalita had noticed the cigarette and misinterpreted why he was putting it away. Walking a little closer she went over to sit on a boulder poking up from the ground. Brushing it off, she sat down and kept her focus on the guy....and that cigarette. It had been a while since the last time she smoked, it had been for a photo shoot and her agent made her quick shortly after. It will ruin your teeth, Lalita's brain supplied the memory of the night she was caught. Now, she had learned, by being around smokers she could reap some benefits without the major consequences

Ariel shook his head, "Besides, I doubt you're around this kind." He didn't need to be smoking. Not even the clove cigarettes that tasted and smelled so good. He wasn't even supposed to have any more. He thought he had given them all up to Markise that one day. But one had escaped and hidden deep in his folded shirts and ragged but neatly folded tank tops.

Lalita shrugged, "Okay then." Sure it would have been nice had he smoked, but it meant no difference to her now. She was never one for dissapointment. "My name is Lalita Harshini. What is your name?" She gathered her hair to her right side, in front of her shoulder, and ran her fingers through it a few times before starting to braid it.

"Logan Callahan," Ariel answered. He stared at her for another moment before he looked down at the barely a centimeter of black stick hanging out from his fist. He shoved the stick back in his pocket, leaving his hand in to mess with it. "What kind of name is Lalita Harshini?" he asked, more out of the urge for awkward conversation than any rude intentions.

Lalita finished the braid in her hair then tied it off with a black hair tie she had been holding on her wrist. "Indian. It is an Indian name meaning the happy beauty." She ignored all possible rude intentions of the questions and answered it simply. She had always found it funny how well the name fit to her. After all, there was no denying, she was happy and most certainly, she was beautiful. "Callahan is an unusual name. What is that from?"

Ariel shrugged, "The family was English before it moved to Australia." He didn't know much family history, only what he had found in an old dusty book for a school project once. He reached up with one hand to run it through his hair. The hair just fell right back over his eyes as he moved his hand to his other pocket. He turned his attention out over the lake. "Dose it really mean happy beauty?" he asked. It was so...it would be like him calling himself Smoking Whore or something.

"Listen, I did not choose it, my parents did. For all they knew I could have turned out to be a depressed ugly child." She shrugged then curved her mouth into a smile, showing her perfect white teeth. Just the thought that her parents actually had luck made her laugh, those fools with luck didn't match up. Lalita was glad though that she had not turned out into a depressed ugly child, being beautiful was more fun!

Ariel raised an eyebrow and shook his head. "It was just a question," he said, his shoulders hunching a little more than usual. He didn't care to get another enemy on his list. Not that he wanted to add another confidante, but being on someone's bad side certainly wouldn't help him right now. The little black cig called him already, and it wouldn't take much more anxiety to make him pull it and his wand out, even if he hated lighting them with a wand.

Lalita shrugged, not really caring too much. Her eyes traveled to where he kept the cigarette and she wondered if he wasn't going to smoke it, what he was doing outhere. Then again, she decided not to ask. She looked back at him then in the silence she unbraided her hair. With it being loose again, she brought a strand of hair in front of her to twirl. "So....." She let what she was about to say drop. It was unimportant, and she didn't want to break the silence with a dumb question.

Ariel looked down at the girl and shook his head. He kept himself from asking the what? that threatened. He normally wouldn't have stayed out there, but there wasn't much else for him to do, and at least this was keeping his mind off of everything he wasn't supposed to be doing. At least for a while. While they were talking.

"So..what house are you in?" Lalita went straight to the small talk, she had no idea what else to say that would not come out rude. She would like to ask why he was out here...maybe even for the cig, but just didn't. She didn't know about him, but she'd be out here for a while so there was plenty of time to ask. She untwirled her hair, then let it drop back down. She needed a less boring hair habit.
