Michael met Dare's eyes and then smiled. He watched Dare's eyes for a minute more before he leaned just the short distance for a kiss. He was more than willing to forget that the conversation with the girls hadn't happened and focus on something else for a while. This was their day at the park, and he wasn't going to let anything ruin it.

The kiss was a relief on so many levels. It took away some of the tension lingering in his body from nerves, reassured him that everything between them was right, and made him feel that much closer to Michael again. He took a slow kiss, deep, intimate, and entirely inappropriate in such an open place, but it left his eyes glittering and his blood racing, so he didn't care. When we get home, he reminded himself.
