Michael smiled and his eyes sparkled softly when he found Dare's eyes. "Probably, but we have plenty of time at home for that," he said. "You'll have to show me what you wanted to do." He might have a good idea of what it was, but Dare was known to surprise him, and he always loved those surprises.

Dare's eyes sparked with interest as they met Michael's. "I'll have to," he murmured. He had the urge to show Michael right now, but they did have plenty of time at home, and they wouldn't risk being watched by small children or scolded by disapproving... everyone. He couldn't imagine anyone but hardcore voyeurs would want to see something like that, and he was sure he wouldn't enjoy being watched in such a position with Michael.

Michael's smile broadened and he reached out to brush his hand against Dare's hair, pulling it briefly away from Dare's eyes. "I look forward to it," he said. He would look forward to it, but he wasn't ready to leave the park just yet to go and find out what it was, no matter how curious he was. It felt like they had just gotten there.

Dare gave a playful growl and leaned forward, pausing temptingly close. He stole just a momentary kiss, a press of lips that was going to have to hold him over, then pulled back and stood before he could give in to more. He'd promised Michael a day taking pictures at the park, not taking their usual Sunday and moving it into public view. He gave Michael a broad grin, then turned to the bag to pull out a Frisbee for Elouai. She was on her feet in an instant.

Michael's eyes were bright as he watched Dare stand and picked up the camera again. He settled himself in to take his pictures, and before long his mind wasn't so obsessed with what was going to happen after, when they got back home. Now, he was perfectly satisfied to be with Dare and enjoy being with him without being purely physical.

Elouai had more luck with the Frisbee than the ball and managed to catch it once or twice. Dare was preparing to throw it again when an overexcited Elouai knocked into him and the throw went wild. Dare watched as it flew toward a group of girls, whose eyes widened as Elouai bolted after it. He bolted after Elouai, catching her by the collar at the edge of the group. He immediately began to apologize.

Michael looked over and then stood to head over. He wasn't in much of a hurry, he figured Dare could handle himself, but Michael also knew how friendly Elouai could be. He put the camera in his pocket and then put his hands in his pockets as he walked. He considered calling Elouai, but decided against it.

The girls were even more profuse in their acceptance of those apologies than Dare was in giving them, and before long, they were fawning over Elouai's soft fur. Dare squatted down so he wouldn't have to tower over them, then did what he always did and answered their questions about her name, age, and breed. He was used to being stopped with Elouai, but not by so many girls at once. He'd only just admitted to himself that he was enjoying it when he glanced over to see Michael.

Michael smiled at Dare and his steps quickened just a little. He nodded to the girls and then looked down at Dare. It seemed like Dare was taking care of everything on his own, but Michael hadn't wanted to stay over at the tree alone, either. So even though he could now see there wasn't much help needed, he stayed.

Dare returned Michael's smile, then introduced him to the girls as well, while he was at it. They smiled up at the new guy, a couple of them sharing looks with each other. Dare didn't notice them for the one complimenting his hair. He gave her thanks and a sheepish smile that only encouraged her, though he certainly hadn't meant it to. At the moment, he was oblivious to any feminine goals, distracted as he was by their wiles.

Michael glanced down at Dare but before he could say something he was distracted by a couple of the girls coming up to him with questions of their own. He didn't pay any attention to the way the one girl giggled at some of his answers, though his eyes did momentarily catch on the dark-haired girl's hair as she flipped it over her shoulder. Was it bad that the most conversation he had had with someone other than Dare for the last few weeks was with these girls at the park?

The various conversations might have gone on all day; Elouai was happy enough with the attention to be lying belly-up right now, and everyone was having fun. If Dare flirted, it was entirely unconscious. He also didn't notice the moment the girl with the deep brown hair had successfully cut her friends out of their conversation.
He did, however, notice how close she was drawing as she asked him to meet her—with her friends, of course, though they were obviously an afterthought—at a club later. He gave another sheepish smile and raised up his left hand for her to see. "Sorry, I'm engaged," he said, hoping she wouldn't be too upset over it. She wasn't. Apparently the idea of marriage was just as exciting, and she called over one of her friends again to see.

Michael glanced over at Dare again when he heard engaged only to be asked if he was free. He blinked and shook his head. He shifted closer to Dare as he answered and pulled out his own left hand for proof. He hadn't expected it to turn out that way, and he looked back down at Dare, moving his weight from one foot to the other.

Dare felt Michael nearing, even just a bit, and looked up, briefly meeting his eyes. Then he looked back down at the girls, who were readying themselves to live vicariously through a story, since they didn't have a chance. He gave another sheepish smile and gestured with a nod of his head toward Michael.

Michael matched Dare's smile and nodded, then watched as understanding slowly swept through the group of girls. Did he really hear one say that it was a shame? A couple were just looking back and forth between them. Then there were a couple that smiled and decided that that was just as good as anything else and continued on their previous path of questioning.
