"Well excuse me for being passionate in what I believe," she retorted angrily. She tried to calm herself down because she was getting just a little too upset about the situation. We are only talking about hating people, it's okay. It's not like a mud-blood is going to jump out of the bushes or anything. She was able to calm back down to the point where her face color had come back to it's normal shinny peach tint.

Ariel snorted again. "Hating people isn't a belief," he said. "It's more of a...lack of self control." Especially when shown like she was. Perhaps she had anger management issues. He shrugged mentally. If she decided to do anything, his wand was in easy reach and he was confident he would be just fine. He had fought off worse than her.

"It is so appropriate to believe in hating people that deserve it," she retorted back with a flash of her anger from earlier. "When they don't belong somewhere, or when they think the are better than what they really are, oh yes I can hate them." She was trying to focus on the rippling of the lake against the shore to calm her down. Wow, I must be pretty upset if I am relying on nature to help calm me down!

Ariel rolled his eyes, "I didn't say you couldn't, I just said that hating isn't a belief. Now, thinking someone doesn't belong, that is a belief. An immature, primitive belief, but a belief all the same." He wasn't sure what she was thinking, but from what he knew of Slytherins he was able to make a pretty good educated guess.

"Fine," she was tired of him judging what she was saying. "Then I don't think some people belong here." Her face thought of sneering at him but thought that he would have some sort of comment about that as well, so she didn't.

Ariel shrugged, "Whatever you think's right." No matter who someone was, there was always someone else that didn't think they belonged. "But there's probably someone here that doesn't think you belong, there's probably people here that don't think I belong. It's kind of redundant, don't you think?" He glanced at her and then closed his eyes again.

"What are you trying to say?" Harmony's blood was trying to boil again. She didn't like him saying that someone probably thought she didn't belong here. "I have more right than half the people at Hogwarts to be here!" Her peach skin was now a burning red again.

"Really? Tell me, oh great Harmony, why you have any more right to be here than anyone else?" Ariel's eyes didn't open. The whole thing was merely an entertainment to him, though he really did hate when people hated others when they didn't have a choice in the matter. He knew from experience that it wasn't a fun thing to be on the wrong end of it.

"Because I'm a pure blood, that's why!!" She was very angry with him now. How dare he use such a sarcastic tone with her! "Anyone that knows anything knows that only pure blood should be at Hogwarts. None of those stupid mud-bloods belong here!" She stared at him angrily as he just lounged on the rock.

"Oh really?" Ariel asked, peeking at Harmony with one eye. "You do realize that even Voldemort had a muggle father, right? And wasn't he considered one of the greatest wizards of all time aside from Dumbledore and Grindelwald?" Of course, rumor was that Dumbledore had been gay, too, but he wasn't about to bring up that particular can of worms.

"Yes well Voldemort made up for being a mud-blood. Besides he hated his father, remember? Voldemort hated using his muggle father's name, and that's why he became Voldemort." She thought it horrid that he didn't regard Voldemort with such high esteem. "Dumbledore loved mud-bloods, he's half the reason they are still here at school. Besides, why should I could I care about Dumbledore and his lover?"

Ariel shrugged and moved one hand down to rest lightly on his stomach, his other remaining underneath his head. "You can't have it both ways, either mudbloods don't deserve to be here, or they can prove their worth like he did, you have to choose." He hated when people were such hypocrites, it drove him absolutely insane.

Harmony was enraged with his response. "Well fine then! Mudbloods don't deserve to be here!" She manged to stammer this out between clenched teeth. She just wanted to hit him square in the nose for being a jerk and not understanding things from her side. Of course if she had been in a clearer mind set, she could have realized that she couldn't make him see things from her point of view since he wasn't her. However, that was what she wanted.

"Well then, I suppose they should have kicked Voldemort out, and he should have been stripped of his powers, right?" Ariel asked, more than a little amused when he opened his eyes to see how angry the girl was. Not that he agreed with the wizard's ideas or anything, but for a man of mixed blood he had done quite well for himself.

"Well if we are still in the frame of mind that all mudbloods shouldn't be admitted here, then yes they should have kicked him out," she retorted. She was starting to wonder if he was toying with her, having fun watching her emotions flair. He's probably really enjoying himself, watching me make an idiot out of myself right now.
