Ariel muttered something about whinging poms and absently teethed the end of his cig. He liked being at Hogwarts, but he had grown to greatly dislike the population of the area in general. It probably didn't help any that he had seen the bad side, the disgusting underbelly that slinked around in the dark corners of the clubs and kept little wads of paper money to pay for the things they wanted.

"Do you like it here? Or would you rather be somewhere else?" Harmony was curious what this strange boy's response would be. He didn't really seem to give much out about himself or how he felt about things and wondered why. I may just ask him here soon if he doesn't tell me. Because I am rather curious about his behavior.

Ariel's eyes flickered over to Harmony, then he shrugged. "That's all according to what you're talking about. I like the outback better than this place, but I wouldn't go back to those people for a million galleons." And considering the things he had done for far less galleons, that was saying a lot. "But at least back there I could swim whenever I felt like it," he added.

Harmony gave a sarcastic, mocking laugh. "So you don't like it here because it's not wide open and spacious, and you can't go swimming whenever you like?" She thought this to be so bizarre. Why would anyone care about nature? Harmony hated the outside so much that she rarely ever left her mansion.

"I can go swimming whenever I want here, technically, it's just inside instead of being outside, and there's always people in the Room of Requirement," Ariel said, wrinkling his nose. With another long drag he finished off his cig and snuffed it out on the rock beside the other one. He silently debated pulling out another one, since it looked like he wasn't going inside any time soon. Instead, he laid back on the rock, stretching out and letting his feet dangle off the edge. He put his hands behind his head, the motion pulling lightly at his shirt to reveal a sliver of skin with an almost permanent tan.

Harmony watched him as he layed down and looked at his skin that had been exposed. He really is a gorgeous man. "What's the 'Room of Requirement'?" She hadn't heard anyone mention it before.

"This room where you can do pretty much whatever you want, it becomes what you want it to be, hence Room of Requirement," Ariel explained, though his voice was rather flat. He didn't like the idea of someone else to take up time in the room that he already very rarely got to himself. He stretched against the rock, arching his back, which only made his shirt come up a bit further, then settled down again. There was now a gap of a couple of inches between the top of his boxers that stuck out from his jeans and the hem of his shirt.

I can't believe how gorgeous he is. Harmony nearly swooned out loud over the boy and his perfect physique. But what I don't understand is why he isn't into me! She was slightly upset now and had to turn towards the lake so he wouldn't see the anger she knew was on her face. I mean I'm Harmony Sounds for crying out loud! There is absolutely nothing wrong with me. I am perfect! She was shouting angrily inside her head now.

Ariel closed his eyes and sighed heavily. He wondered absently about falling asleep right there on the sum-warmed rock underneath the perfectly clear sky. Then he remembered that there was someone sitting there beside him and he wrinkled his nose. "So surely you didn't come out here to talk to a chain smoker," he commented, eyes still closed.

"Honestly I wasn't sure who I would find out here," she retorted. "I just wanted to be outside, away from that ghastly castle." She shuddered as she thought of all the muggles running around in the castle and how she loathed being at the school with them. "I just needed to try and get away from . . . . certain people," she answered, pure hatred dripping from her words.

Ariel snorted, "You've just started and you hate people already, you've got a fun couple of years coming." He only had a couple of people he actually hated, and even then it wasn't that bad since he never saw them. Besides, he mostly kept to himself, finishing his homework so that he would have the weekends free to do whatever he wanted.

"Well if people have a problem with me not liking them, then I'll just tell them where they can put it!" Harmony was red in the face now thinking of all the mud-bloods in Hogwarts. If your not absolutely a pure blood, you may as well be a muggle, she mused. I hate the mud-bloods for thinking that they are special when they truly aren't. Anyone can go and make a mud-blood, that's not hard. But it is so much more difficult to be a pure. Dirty blooded people! Why the witch or wizard that first began the half breeding should be stripped of their magic and shot! What a horrible person for dirtying our blood. Harmony was practically fuming, with smoke almost literally pouring out of her ears.

Ariel raised an eyebrow and shrugged. "Whatever you say, hon," he said, then yawned. He had no interest in her anger at whoever it was that she didn't like. He shifted and brought his feet back up on the rock, bending his knees and propping his feet on the edge of the stone. She wouldn't get far thinking like that, but who was he to judge?

"Is there anyone that you don't like?" she asked him hoping to move the subject off of her for a moment so that she could calm herself. "Even people that don't go to Hogwarts?"

Ariel opened his eyes and raised an eyebrow. "Didn't I just say I don't like the people from my old school?" he asked. That counted, didn't it? "Other than that, yeah, there are plenty, but there's a hell of a difference between that and letting it take you over like you just did." It was a little ridiculous in his mind, but then, hadn't she said she was a Slytherin?
