"I am Harmonia Sounds. But I prefer Harmony thank you very much." She said with her nose in the air, acting as if her name held some sort of importance that even he should understand. "And you are you?"

"Logan Callahan," Ariel answered, glad he hadn't slipped up and nearly said Ariel again like he had with Lafra. Of course, that day he had been suffering withdrawals just a little. "And are you serious? You're really Harmony Sounds?" He glanced at her then rolled his eyes. What parents in their right minds would name a kid with the last name Sounds Harmony?

"Yes my name is Harmony." She knew she had spoken clearly, why was he questioning her name? Then she understood. "Look my parents named me Harmonia after my grandmother, alright? They had never called me Harmony until a few years ago when I asked everyone to start calling me by that name. I hated being reminded of my grandmother." Harmony started drifting off as she thought of that muggle-loving grandmother she loathed and how much she hated being named after her.

Ariel snorted and shook his head. There was a reason he didn't go by his first name, of course, but that was why he didn't give it out. It had nothing to do with...well...it did have something to do with his parents. His stupid wild mother that had named him Ariel of all things, and his father that had had the grace to do something good for once in his life and give Ariel a middle name to save him some agony. And now the only person that called him Ariel was Markise. Markise, the one that had-no. Why did he always go back to thinking about Markise?!

"You have a problem with my name don't you?" She accused him. If he was going to be a jerk about something just as simple as her name then perhaps she wasn't going to like him after all.

"I know worse," Ariel said, shrugging. He had no right to say anything about a name, considering what his first name actually was. It was still really what he considered himself, but seventeen years of calling himself Ariel was going to take a lot longer than a few months to reverse. Not for the first time he cursed his mother for sticking him with a name she wouldn't even stay around to enjoy.

"Good," she retorted. "I hate it when people make rude comments about my name," she said this more to herself than she did to Logan. "I mean it's not my fault after all what my name is. It's my parents." She looked down at her feet playing with the edge of her pants where there was a small tear. She had always hated her name and the one thing she wished for more than anything else in the world was a different name. "And oh how I wish I had a middle name to go by." Harmony realized that she was showing her soft side to Logan, something she never did. But something about Logan made her feel as if it was alright to show this side. This of course confused her slightly because it wasn't like Logan had really shown an interest in anything she had been saying. But still, she didn't regret letting her guard down.

Ariel was only half listening to Harmony's rant and shrugged only when she had stopped. He wasn't about to bring up the topic of his first name, and even if he did mention he went by his middle, he wouldn't even begin to tell her what his first name was. "Parents aren't good for much," he said absently, then finished pulling on his cig and put it out on the rock between him and Harmony.

Harmony realized that he hadn't payed attention to her when she had left herself open and pulled her guard up immediately and watched him put the cigarette out with distaste. "And why do you think that?" She used a harsher tone than necessary but didn't care because she was angry that she had opened herself up to him and he had acted as if nothing had really happened.

Ariel shrugged again. "I grew up just fine without them," he said, though it was a debatable point. He pulled out his pack again and the matches. Most people that did grow up with parents didn't end up whores that batted for the other team. He lit his cig. "If they were good for anything, I'd be pretty screwed up, don't you think?"

Harmony was puzzled by his response. "I don't think I understand. Do you think you would have turned out worse if your parents had been around to bring you up?" She wasn't quite sure what his reasoning was for this idea. But then again she didn't really know much about them and she was betting he didn't think very highly of his parents.

"No," Ariel said flatly. He took a drag before he looked over at Harmony again. "I mean that if I turned out fine without them, then there must not be much use for them." And yes, he had turned out perfectly fine, there were much worse people out there. Not that he could name any off the top of his head, but he knew there were.

"Oh I understand," she replied softly and then looked down at her feet. She wasn't really sure what she should say after that. The conversation seemed to have more meaning now to him than it did to her and she was afraid to say the wrong thing and offend him.

Ariel shook his head and turned his attention back out to the lake. He was silent for a few moments as he puffed on his little black stick and watched the little ripples in the water. "So are you from around here?" he asked, his own accent making it obvious he wasn't. Not that he missed home or anything, he enjoyed living in Hogwarts much more than he had enjoyed Australia.

"Yeah. I've grown up here in England." She told him as she lounged on the rock beside him. "And I rather like it here. I have no desire to live any where else." She smiled as she thought of the large mansion that her family owned and the luxury of it all compared to this dreadful school. Her forehead creased as she frowned at these thoughts.
