Chase went after Eloise. He wasn't going to let her hide herself away and drown in self-hatred, which looked like a distinct possibility. "It's not always like that," he said. His pride was offended by the very idea of her thinking it was. How the hell was he supposed to convince her without showing her? And there was no way he would even attempt showing her today.

Eloise stopped and looked at him, "I didn't think for a second that it would be anything like that... so there's no need to explain." Eloise muttered, she didn't think that Chase was bad or anything... just a little rough, but then again how was he to know? He wasn't exactly looking out for anything. Eloise didn't bother to move her hair from her face she didn't want to be seen at that moment in time. She wrapped her arms around herself, her head down as she walked; to others she probably looked like a mental case but she knew that if she couldn't protect herself from the outside world not only mentally but physically too she'd fall apart.

Chase's lips pressed into a thin line, his jaw tightening at Eloise's grumbled admonition. If she didn't want to be convinced, then there wasn't anything for him to do. He wasn't going to beg her to give him another chance, though his other option--letting her walk away thinking whatever miserable thoughts about him and sex she was thinking--wasn't much better.
Chase looked aside at Eloise, or rather, at the mass of hair hovering above the female body walking beside him. "So what are you going to do, then?" he asked at last, hoping he wouldn't have to clarify. Was she going to retreat? Lick her wounds and avoid him? Was she going to take a few days to think and try a different approach?

Cassie stepped out of the candy shop and locked the door behind her. Turning up the street she saw a familiar figure. She walked towards him, realising as she did so that he wasn't alone. "Chase" she said to get his attention. A smile appeared on her face as she recognised the curtain of hair that hid the girl's face.

Eloise stopped and looked at him, flipping her hair from her face, "What do you expect from me?" She asked him biting her lips as she looked at him. Eloise let a sigh escape her lips before continuing to talk, "You want to prove a point to me right? I'll give you an opportunity to do so... but not just yet." Eloise felt her stomach churn as another girls came to join them, she suddenly felt slightly dirty, her arms stayed around herself and she pushed her head back forward so that her hair would shield her face once more.

Chase's body tensed at Eloise's words. He wanted to say something, but he'd heard Cassie, and she was in hearing distance. He gave Eloise a pointed look that said they weren't done talking, then let the matter drop for now. His lips curved into a forced smile that didn't quite reach his eyes as he turned toward Cassie. This wasn't quite the way he'd expected to run into her again. "Hey," he said, raising a hand in greeting. He gestured between the girls. "Do you two know each other?" Introductions would be awkward, but he'd manage it if he had no other choice.

Cassie nodded, "Hi Eloise" she said before returning her attention to Chase. She noticed the strained expression his face held and took in their slightly dishevelled appearance. She looked from Eloise to Chase and rose her eyebrows, the hint of a smile playing on her lips, careful to not let Eloise see her expression.

Eloise nodded too not saying anything, she turned away trying to hide the grimace on her face, well she didn't exactly need to turn awya, her hair already did the job for her. Eloise glanced at Chase before looking at Cassie, "So urm... what brings you here then?" She asked her biting her lip as she looked at her.

Cassie left Chase to his thoughts and turned her attention back to Eloise. She gestured back towards the candy shop she had just left. "I recently bought the shop and I just shut for the day" she said conversationally. "I love it, keeps me occupied when I'm not dancing or doing schoolwork" she added, smiling gently at Eloise as she guessed what had just happened between them.

Chase ran a hand through his hair, more annoyed than disturbed by Cassie's obvious perceptiveness. He gave her a deeply put-upon look and a slight shake of his head, telling her that even if it had been what she thought it was, it really wasn't worth teasing him over. If Eloise's posture wasn't enough of a clue.
Chase looked at Eloise a moment, her glance catching his attention just long enough to miss what Cassie had said. "You visiting someplace down here?" he asked, adding to Eloise's question, trying for something--anything--to lessen the awkwardness.

Cassie eyed Eloise again, noticing how withdrawn she was and nodded slightly to Chase, letting him know silently that she understood his request. Cassie looked at him puzzled. "Visiting?" she asked, "Do you ever listen to anything Chase?" she asked, slihglty amused by how distracted her was. "I own the candy shop" she repeated to Chase, also feeling slightly sympathetic that he had run into Eloise.

Eloise forced a smile, "That's cool... I'd love to own my own shop, not that I can't afford one or anything, I just don't think I'm that responsible enough for business." She said running a hand through her hair to push it off her face her eyes sparkled as she looked at Chase, watching his lips move as he spoke.

Cassie smiled, amused by how quickly Eloise could change, she had been depressed and moody when she came, and now she was happy and bubbly again. "I fell in love with the place, I saw it was for sale and I had the money from performing. I only finished fixing it up a few day's ago." she said, telling Eloise about the shop briefly.

Eloise smiled again letting herself relax slightly, "That's cool. I'd love to design a place... but yeah, not run it." She said laughing slightly, this time keeping her eyes off Chase for the moment, although Eloise knew she was overreacting to things she didn't care, it was the way she felt toward what had just happened, she wanted to hide herself from it but of course couldn't. "So, are you heading back up to the castle then?" She asked Cassie, tilting her head slightly.

Chase nearly groaned at the intense misery of the situation. At least his body had cooled off, but his mood was still tense, and listening to the girls make small talk wasn't helping him at all. He looked up the street in the general direction of the castle, strongly tempted to just tell them both he was leaving now.
