[Ryan Magby]

Ryan sat in the stands looking at the letter he had just recieved with tears in his eyes. One of his friends had just been in a fatal car crash. This had been one of the worst few weeks of his life, first he lost the girl that he loved, now this. Ryan sat there staring at the letter not really even reading it anymore

Almost as soon as Adara had seen the stadium, she'd gravitated toward it. She'd only ever seen pictures of them, as sheltered as she was, and her lips parted in awe as she stood at the gates. As she looked them over, she saw a boy in the stands, quite as alone as she felt. She took to the stairs immediately, stepping out at his level, where shyness suddenly took hold. She watched him instead of speaking, half hoping he would turn and see her, half hoping that she would simply find the courage to go back down the stairs alone.

Ryan noticed that he was being watched so he tried to stop the tears in his eyes "hello there" he said without looking up.

"Are you all right?" Adara asked softly. She didn't know what she could possibly do to help, but something felt wrong, and she couldn't in good conscience leave him.

Ryan sighed and shook his head slightly "No im not" he said looking up at the girl.

"Can I help?" Her voice was completely sincere, without a trace of condescension. Adara crossed the space between them, slowly, and then sat on the bench with the boy.

Ryan sighed "Not much you can do really." he said wishing that someone could help.

Adara chewed her bottom lip a moment and looked down at her hands, trying to think of something. "I could listen," she offered. Adara looked hopefully back up at the boy.

Ryan looked at her "If you really want to, not many people do though" he said

"Why not?" Adara tilted her head slightly, sending a thick lock of hair falling over her shoulder.

Ryan shrugged "I dont know. Only one person here has ever really fully cared enough to listen and she is now part of the reason im like this."

Adara's dark brows knitted as she tried, and failed, to understand. How could anyone not care when someone was in pain? She couldn't make sense of it so quickly, so she put the thought aside to examine when she was alone and turned her attention fully back to the boy. "I'm sorry, I never asked your name," she said. Adara extended one pale hand in polite greeting, letting her lips curve into what she hoped was an encouraging smile.

Ryan tried what came out as a half smile as he shook her hand "My name is Ryan. What is yours?"

"Adara Snow," she replied, her smile widening, her eyes dark, but gleaming with soft brown flecks. "I'm new here," she confessed, her naturally soft voice just loud enough for Ryan to hear. Adara blushed suddenly and glanced down at her hands. "I'm sorry, I was distracted," she pleaded. "You were going to tell me what's wrong, weren't you?"

Ryan nodded "Well everything was going real good until a few weeks ago when a very bad thing happened to my then girlfriend, i hope you dont mind but that part i would like to leave alone. That thing got me extreamly angry and then my girlfriend left me for reasons i dont know. Then today i was walking out here to come fly and take my mind off of things and i got an owl from my mom. She told me that one of my best friends back in the muggle world had gotten into an accident and is near death." he said weakly as he slowly started to cry.
