Brooke nodded "Ok, see you around." She wasn't totally giving up but she would also never chase after a boy, that was beneath her, plus in this situation it would have been a major tactical error. She shrugged and dove back under the water, it wasn't like the school was that huge she would meet up with this boy again.

Her lack of offense only made him resent Dru more for the comparison. Chase dried off with a few swift motions of his wand, grabbed his things, and left before he said or did anything stupid.
It was on his way out of the clearing that he heard Vannah and stopped. "Don't push me now, Vannah," he warned. If there was anything guaranteed to make him stupid right now, it was her.

"Oh, you're in a bad mood. I thought you'd be glad to be out of there." Vannah said crossing her arms. She looked over his shoulder at Brooke. "But then again, I guess she'd be enough to do that to you. She is a bit of a prat, I think." Her smirk had returned and her eyes glinted as she reminisced her earlier encounter with Brooke.

Chase muttered something involving the phrase, glad to be out as he tugged his shirt over his head. The moment was enough for him to recover a bit and he turned his attention back to Vannah. "You decided what you want yet?" he asked, blatantly referencing her mid-night visit. "Or are you just back to your old tricks?"

Vannah sighed. Her head was tilted slightly to the side. She knew exactly what she wanted, but she also knew she would never let it happen. For some reason whenever she thought about it, her mind pulled her away from the thought. It was like walking into a mistake. You can see it's clearly there, but the temptaion is so great. "You just got out of the Hospital Wing." She reminded him in hopes that would be enough time to stall some more.

"Mmhm," Chase intoned, arching an eyebrow at Vannah to let her know he saw right through that comment. But he wouldn't press. He was still with Dru, after all. "Nice to know you're thinking of my health and welfare," he said, more than a little sarcastically. Actually, it was nice to know her mind had made the required leap. There were a thousand ways she could have taken the thinking about it comment, and she'd gone straight to the physical.

Brooke had continued to swim after Chase's departure but quickly became bored of the whole affair. She kept up at it for a while yet after that but her mind kept on drifting off until she finally decided to swim to shore. She started walking up to where she remembered leaving her skirt and shoes, only she stopped not even half way there. Chase hadn't left yet he was still standing there and to complicate things Vannah of all people was there talking to him. She was to far away still to actually hear the words of what was being said and didn't want to have anything to do with Vannah so she figured that she could give Vannah a couple minutes to move on before she went over to collect her stuff.

Vannah rolled her eyes. "Does it bother you more that I'm not answering or because we've known each other for almost a year and unlike every other girl, I don't jump your bones the first chance I get?" She placed her hands on her hips. Her tone was impatient and her face tense. She regretted asking the question almost the instant it came out of her mouth and she knew she would regret the answer even more.

Chase's lips slid into a smirk. "Actually, it doesn't bother me that you're not answering," he said, not even acknowledging the second part of her question. "Besides, if you gave me an answer, the game would be over, wouldn't it, kitten? And without the game, there'd be nothing left but your blind lust for me." Chase realized that he should behave, that he should respect whatever tentative truce had been formed that night in the hospital, but couldn't seem to stop himself from trying to get a rise out of her.

"Blind lust?" Vannah repeated with a sarcastic laugh. "That's funny I could've sworn it was just sheer annoyance..." She shrugged it off. "Unless you want to end up back in the Hospital Wing, I should probably leave. Before you say anything that'll make me do something I'll regret." Her eyes glinted with mischief, and she let her hand brush against where she kept her wand. Her oblivion to the double meaning of the statement was incredible.

Chase didn't miss the motion of Vannah's hand. "Don't tell me you'd regret the best night of your life," he said, choosing to completely ignore her threat. "But yeah, go ahead and leave if it's that hard for you to control yourself, kitten. I'll manage somehow." Now that was the Vannah he knew. Chase felt more alive taunting her than he had in weeks.

Brooke was starting to get bored and was starting to think that they would never leave, She walked over to them and smiled "Sorry to interrupt but I need my stuff." She said motioning over to the skirt and shoes on the ground. "I would have left you alone but can you really see me just walking through the school like this." She ran a hand through her still wet and windswept hair throwing a smile at Chase and ignoring Vannah totally.

"You think that was the best night of my life? How pathetic do you think I am? Of course that wasn't the best night of my life! Nothing even happened. Although, I couldn't blame you if that was the best night you had. Especially considering the people you've been hanging around." Vannah finished the sentence just as Brooke walked up. "Oh, great." She said unenthusiastically. "Speak of the devil and the devil shall appear." Vannah eyes followed to where Brooke's clothes were.
"Oh, you mean those?" She asked innocently. Her wand was suddenly out and motioning to the clothes. "That's a pity because they really are nice...oh woops!" She said after quickly flicking her wand and sending the close to the middle of the lake where they floated on the top for a few seconds and sunk down below the surface. Vannah fought back the rush of laughter that erupted from her mouth.

"Why do you have to be such a b*tch, Vannah?" Chase asked. He pulled out his wand and turned to the lake, summoning Brooke's sodden clothes for her with a quick accio. "You'll probably want to get out of here," he warned her. "She only gets worse with time." He shot a hard look aside at Vannah before silently dismissing her, not that he thought it'd really work.

Vannah was laughing too hard to answer at first. She finally calmed down and answered. "I'm sorry, but that was such a good opportunity." She said except for she wasn't really sorry. She stole a glance from Chase and sobered up. "Uh-oh, I guess I'm not wanted anymore." Vannah said with mischief in her eyes. She refused to move as if Chase had given her a challenge.
