"Just doing my job," Dru said, smiling. It wasn't really considered a job in her mind, but that was what came out. "Might as well give you something to look forward to." Not to mention she was looking forward to it as well. Looking forward to it quite a bit. Her eyes trailed over his face, down his jawline, across his lips, his hairline.

"You know, you could always get a sneak peek, I'll make it worth your time." And considering the state of near-desperation he was in, it'd be worth the pain he knew it would bring. "Just shut the curtain," Chase murmured, stroking his hand against Dru's neck. "We'll be quiet."

Dru's cheeks burned at the idea and she looked down at his chest. "Oh yeah, and our luck the nurse would come in." She didn't see it happening, and he had to know that she wouldn't go for it. The idea may have appealed to some people, but the idea of being caught stopped her even more than the knowledge that he wasn't physically able. The fact that their first time had been in the kitchen with all the house-elves was firmly pushed into the back of her mind.

"Then we'll be fast, come on, I want you, Dru." Not his most persuasive argument, he realized. "I'll tell the nurse I want some privacy," he suggested. "Just close the curtains and kiss me. I'll make you forget." The anticipation alone was bringing him to a state of discomfort bordering on pain.

Dru almost said she wanted him, almost bent over him and kissed him, but she just looked up into his eyes. "I think that a couple days' wait won't kill you." One arm fell, her hand tracing invisible lines on his arm. The gleam in her eyes screamed that she wanted him, but she knew that it wouldn't help his condition.

"It might," Chase argued lightly. He gave one last-ditch effort, drawing Dru down for another kiss, one filled with promise and drugging intensity. If he could just get her to change her mind, she could flick the curtains shut with her wand. She just needed a little more persuasion...

Dru sighed into the kiss but she pulled herself away, albeit reluctantly. "You could barely take that book from me," she reminded him, all the while still leaning close to his face. Her hand came up off his arm and ran through his hair. Maybe he would stop, it would make things easier if he would stop, but there was a very high chance that he would just continue until she completely pulled away from him.

"I'll be fine, I don't even have to move," Chase said, then launched into a short, but descriptive suggestion on how they'd manage. He abandoned obvious pressure to give her a hopeful look, though he was starting to realize through the haze of lust that he probably wouldn't be convincing her. All the same, Chase caught Dru's hand and brought it to his lips, pressing light, promise-filled kisses to her fingertips, then her knuckles before turning her arm and kissing the inside of her wrist.

Chase's words brought a bright flush to Dru's cheeks and she looked away from him. The images flashing through her mind mixed with the ghost touches of his hands that she could feel on her body made her blood rush. Her lip found its way between her teeth when her mind focused on the soft press of his lips on her skin. "You have no shame," she murmured, watching him with a kind of strange fascination.

Chase's lips spread slowly into a wolfish grin. "And that's what you love about me," he murmured. His lips trailed up the inside of her arm, which he drew down, bringing her closer with each kiss. He saw the look in her eyes, and it renewed his momentary lapse of hope, not to mention the thrill it gave him. He'd been behaving so well lately, turning down opportunity after opportunity, avoiding temptation, and he wanted an outlet. The danger he courted by seducing Dru here only made him want more.

Well that was one thing she couldn't deny, she did love that about him. "Chase, you're making this really hard...." The feelings running through her teased in her mind. He's good enough, he's healed enough. But no, Dru's practical side pushed in, it would be too much for him. She blinked a few times to clear her vision and pulled her arm down, away from his lips, giving him a look which was somehow both stern and apologetic.

Chase groaned with a combination of frustration and distress at having been completely cut off. He couldn't help the reflexive glare of displeasure that flickered across his face, but he tempered it to a look of mild annoyance. "You're making it hard," Chase argued lightly, "and that's what I'm trying to fix." The spark in his eyes left no doubt as to the depth of innuendo he was working at.

Dru caught what he meant, even if it took her a second to catch on. And when she did, her eyes widened slightly. "Well," she said slowly, trying to force down the blush in her cheeks while thinking up something to say. "I guess if it's hard now, it'll be even worse later, right?" She could barely resist now, in a couple of days there would be no resisting. "Besides, those couches in that back room are so much more comfortable than this bed." She knew from experience.

"This bed would be more than comfortable if you'd just..." Chase broke off with a sharp breath of frustration. He was wasting his energy, and he knew it. There'd be no convincing her; Dru had self-control that Chase didn't even want. He was feeling repressed enough as it was.

Dru clenched her jaw, knowing that he was angry, but refusing to change her mind. "You and I both know that you're in no condition to be doing that. Even if we did it the way you said you'd still get hurt." She sighed and looked into his eyes, "I'm not saying I don't want to, I just know that you could have a broken back and still insist." It meant, basically, that no matter the injury, he'd play it off and try to get more than he could handle. And, however much she wanted it, she wouldn't let him hurt himself.
