"You get to go into the professors' lounge though," Indigo pointed out. When he was zipped and gloved, he pulled the strap of his bag over his shoulder and dropped a tip on the table. Outside, it was beginning to snow, tiny flakes building up in small corners and dusting the cracks in the cobbled street. Indigo blew out a test breath, and a puff of fog dissipated in front of him. "Mari and Castiel are going to flip," he said.

Jory laughed and nodded. "Yeah, no kidding. I can't imagine living somewhere it was so warm all the time." He also doubted there was anything interesting happening in the professors' lounge. It was going to be an interesting semester of transition, and he was kind of glad the official switch had happened halfway through the year, since he would have the summer break all the sooner to recover from any added stress.

Indigo glanced behind them as they made their way down the road, then glanced aside at Jory before looking ahead again. "I wonder if they'll be like little kids, making snow angels and stuff. Start asking for corncob pipes or something to make a snowman." They did seem like little kids sometimes, though Indigo had proof that it wasn't all the time.

"Hey, hey, there is nothing wrong with that stuff," Jory said, looking over at Indigo. "Just because we see snow half the year doesn't mean we can't enjoy it." When was the last time he had gone out in the snow away from home? He went out with Ant during the few days he was home for the holidays, but that was such a small fraction of the snow season.

"You still do that stuff?" Indigo asked, lips quirking. He hadn't in years. The novelty of building a snowman in the front yard had worn off about the time he'd started school, and his friends hadn't really been into snowball fights. In fact, he'd been threatened with being smacked a couple times for making up snowballs.

"Yeah, when I'm home with my brother, Ant. He acts like he's getting too old for it, sometimes, but we both still love it," Jory said. One of the things he loved most was heading home during breaks for a few days to hang out with his family, especially his brother. "I don't do it as much as I used to, but it'd still be fun to do it here."

Indigo blushed at his own thoughts, as vague as they might be, and looked at the ground in front of him. He didn't even want to think the phrase do it right now. He took a few steps more before glancing over his shoulder, then looking forward again. "I guess if you have someone to do it with," he said. Why had he said that?

"Yeah, it's boring to do it by yourself, it's all about hanging out," Jory said. "Maybe this will build up well and we can come out later." It would be a fun way to spend the rest of the day, or maybe tomorrow if it kept going all day and didn't build up enough. "Don't worry, Mr. I'm too old for this, I'll bring a pipe."

"Have you ever even seen a pipe?" Indigo asked, flicking a glance aside at Jory. He didn't think he had, though he'd seen a drawing of a certain snowman with one. "The other professors will totally make fun of you, y'know." He doubted it, but he didn't want to get all worked up again.

"Yes, my dad has one, thank you very much," Jory said, grinning at Indigo. "And really, have you seen the professors? Michael and Dare used to go out all the time and make fools of themselves, I was with them once and they were playing truth or dare and drinking. I was at a club once and Rowan was there with some of his friends. I heard Keith Evans goes out all the time, too." The professors were more studentlike than a lot of the students sometimes.

"You make it sound like they just party all the time," Indigo said. He didn't know if he believed that so many of the professors were always out clubbing and drinking. Especially since they'd been trying to crack down so hard on the students. Maybe that was why, though. They didn't want students clubbing in London and finding out how skanky they all were. Indigo grinned at the thought.

"Maybe they do, who knows? Maybe I'll be able to get in on those professor parties now," Jory said. There were a lot of good looking professors, no matter that most of them seemed to be taken in some way or another. "I'll make sure to report in so you can live through me." He somehow doubted that being a professor would open up any new social opportunities.

"Sweet, I won't have to read abandoned Cauldrons in the Common Room anymore." Indigo's parents had a subscription, but he didn't feel the need to pay his employer for proof that he worked there. He could read it for free and save his two Galleons for ice cream. "Are you going to like, hook up with the Blackwood-Hardts again? You guys were friends before, right? When they were students?"

"I dunno if friends is right," Jory said. "Lyric was invited to one of their parties and he invited me, it wasn't them directly inviting me. I've talked to Dare a couple times, too." It really wasn't anything special, it just so happened that Lyric had been a friend of a friend of the pair at the time. "I might, but haven't they been having issues? It might not be a good time to start trying to get in the group."

"I don't know, they're both living at school right now," Indigo said. He hadn't gotten hold of a magazine last month to see what it said, but the one professor had been running with that big black dog again, and they two of them were talking at the staff table, so he'd figured the drama was over.
