"Ohh," Mari said, nodding in understanding. He sat across from the other two, his legs drawn up in front of him on the seat. He put his bag on the floor at his feet and began unwinding his scarf. "That's cool." Of the two of them, it was Castiel who was much more interested in girls, but Mari was at least appreciative of them.

Jory had seen his friends enter the train, but he had been stopped by a little group of young students wanting answers for this question or that. It had then taken a few minutes to find the group in the train itself. "Hey, guys," he said, smiling. "I'm not technically supposed to ride since I'm all 'not a student' now, but I wanted to hang out." He looked curiously over at the new pair as he came in.

"Jory!" Indigo was happier to see Jory than anyone else at Hogwarts, with the possible exception of Brindle. He'd taken too long with her and been friendzoned hard, he was sure of it. He made a round of introductions for the new guys, and turned to put his feet on the floor to make room.
"They're from Florida," he told Jory. "It doesn't even get cold there." And they were about to be exposed to winter in the mountains of Scotland.

Castiel's earlier mood was entirely forgotten by now. Here was the guy who wrote the horoscopes sometimes, and he'd been in an article once, in the issue with that photographer! And that was definitely an English accent. He wondered why Hyacinth sounded so different. "We saw snow once at the mall," he volunteered.

"Yeah, it wasn't even cold snow," Mari said. You'd think that if they were going through the trouble of making snow, then the mall could get a machine or something and make it kind of cold, they had freezers, didn't they? "It was kind of lame, but it was fun." Why was he not surprised that Jory, like Indigo, was much better looking in person?

Jory laughed as he plopped down on the seat with Indigo and Hyacinth. "Yeah? I think not cold snow might be fun, frozen toes kind of suck. I heard it's supposed to snow today, though, the grounds might be covered by the time we get there." It had snowed the day before going back to Hogwarts the previous year and Jory had quite enjoyed watching the snow covered landscape pass by the window.

"These guys were cold just walking from Diagon Alley," Indigo said. "Scarves and hats and gloves and everything." He looked over at them. "You think you can handle real snow?" he teased. There were days when it just wasn't worth it to go outside, though that had never stopped a quidditch match.

"Rem has not seen snow," Hyacinth said. He opened the carrier and took out the palm-sized kitten, who was wearing a brightly-colored new collar. It was a grass green right now, but he intended to see if he could change it to Ravenclaw blue. A small tag and a matching cross charm dangled from the front.
"My family liked Rem," he said. "They bought her this collar, and the charm is from me."

"Its name is Rem?" Castiel asked. He pulled up his feet beside him and leaned into Marius. "Like in Death Note?" Of all the manga that Mari had made him look at, Death Note was by far his favorite. He also liked the little cross on the kitten. It made it even cooler.

Hyacinth's brows drew together slightly. Death Note? He'd never heard of that, and though he glanced aside at his friends, he answered himself. "It is like Remiel, angel of hope. Remiel is a Watcher, and my Remiel is also a Watcher." His family had found it uncanny just how seemingly knowing the kitten was, but they had approved, and he'd been allowed to keep her.

"Aw, I like her collar," Jory said, reaching over to scratch the tiny kitten's ears gently. "It'd be better if it wasn't Slythern colors, though, I think red would be better." He grinned and his eyes glittered, giving away his tease. A little inter-house rivalry was perfectly fine between friends, even if he wasn't actually a student anymore. He knew that some of the teachers definitely still held to the rivalry.

"Are there a lot of pets at Hogwarts?" Mari asked. His beanie joined his scarf laying down on his bag in the floor and he eyed his once again fingerless gloves, wondering if he wanted to take them off, as well. The train started moving. Well, for now he was still recovering from the cold, though Castiel's closeness helped a lot with that.

"Not really," Indigo answered. "The Blackwood-Hardt Professors have a big black dog, and Brindle has a pygmy puff, but I don't see a lot of them running around." He shrugged. "Maybe everyone has owls, and they hang out in the owlery."

"The paper said you could only have an owl, a cat, or a toad," Castiel said. He turned enough to look at Marius, and squeezed his arm. "I could have gotten a raven!" Not that he really knew what he'd do with a raven, but it'd look really cool riding around on his shoulder.

"I doubt you could get away with a raven," Jory said, though he smiled at the guy's enthusiasm. "Pygmy Puffs are overlooked because they're tiny and the Blackwood-Hardts are professors. I think they have two dogs now, too, I saw Michael walking a big dog with white on it before I left for holiday." He glanced over at Indigo as he finished speaking.
