"I'd have done it sooner, but I was being nice. You weren't there to tell me not to." Lyric grabbed hold of Keith's upper arm like he'd wanted to, and gave a firm push. "Out." He'd done it for the same reason he'd gotten rough with Emilian. Maybe he didn't understand it himself, but it had felt good, and with Skylar, it had gotten out a lot of stress he wouldn't take out on Keith himself. In fact, maybe he'd visit the man again and do a more permanent job.

"No!" Keith said, jerking his arm away and taking a step back to regain his balance. "It isn't your job to punish him for what he did to me. You don't even know what he did! Matthew doesn't even know, he's just assumed, he only knows what he saw, I never told him s~." To be honest, Matthew knew more than Keith would like to admit.

"I was gonna do something," Lyric barked. He pushed forward, crowding Keith. "It was that or get wasted again. Better him than me. Get out!" He'd done everything he could when he'd been whatever he'd been with Keith, and all the man cared about was his effing ex. "Go run back to him, beg him to love you, and when you suck his d~ you'll see what you should've seen the first time!"

"F~ you, I came here to try to make amends," Keith said, not backing down. "I f~ed up with Skylar, I know it, but I don't know why the hell you're so personally offended by it!" Seriously, Lyric had went and what, attacked Skylar? He didn't know if Lyric thought he was a personal angel of vengeance or what.

"No, you came here to f~ing dig in my business! You do this to everyone you f~ed a couple times?" Lyric pushed Keith toward the door again. He didn't have to explain anything. So he'd seized on someone, it didn't mean a thing. He'd wanted to f~ somebody up, so he'd found someone who deserved it instead of beating up some random guy in a bar. Lyric didn't want to hear another word about yet another a~hole who was better than him.

Keith let out a dry laugh and sidestepped Lyric's hands. "Because you're definitely just some guy I f~ed a couple times, yeah," he said, nodding. "Right. I don't go back to talk to guys I f~ a couple times, I don't give a damn and I don't try to talk to them about jack. I am so sorry I give a s~ and decided to come by."

Lyric snorted. "Don't pretend you ever gave a sh~ about me," he said. He wanted so badly to punch that stupid look off Keith's face, to make him regret coming back to rub everything in. "We f~ed. You got me to say some sh~ I wish I'd never said, then you took off the second you thought you weren't in control. F~ you, coming by to look at the freak show!" An arm shot out at a row of framed photos on the wall, sending them crashing to the floor.

Keith cursed and ducked, though none of the things were going to come close to him. "That's not why I left, come off it," he said. "I told you why I left. You wanted something I wasn't ready to give and it'd have been hell on you if I'd stayed. Hell, I even thought about staying, you ever consider that? I was a breath from staying whether I wanted to or not because...I don't know. It'd have made you happy, I guess." It had felt like it was what he was supposed to do.

"I don't need your pity!" Lyric growled. "I never asked for it! You never asked what would make me happy! You don't f~ing know me!" Keith had never asked him any of these things he was saying as though they were the truth. He wasn't stupid! He'd known from the start that Keith would never be his boyfriend, and he hadn't wanted that anyway. He'd had whatever feelings he couldn't even put a name to for months, and he hadn't wasted away for wishing Keith would love him.

"You told me, Lyric, you told me that you wanted to be exclusive and be friends," Keith said. "That's what you said you wanted!" He hadn't needed to ask, Lyric had just said it. "If you wanted something else, why don't you tell me now?" He hadn't realized everything that could set the man off. "And I'm not f~ing pitying you, for God's sake."

"You just f~ing said—" Lyric made a sound of frustration. Keith had just said that he'd have stayed to make him happy, whether he wanted to or not. Lyric hadn't come up with pity all on his own!
"I told you I didn't want to date!" he said through gritted teeth. He'd said it more than once, though apparently Keith had forgotten. "It's none of my damn business what you do and it never was, and I f~ing told you that, too!" He pushed forward, crowding Keith again, and kicking aside a splintered piece of frame.
"We aren't friends, we've never been friends, and haven't even f~ed in months. All I want now is for my f~ing ex-whatevers to leave me alone after they've killed it. Stop rubbing in that I'm not good enough for you and get the f~ out of my life!"

"If we weren't at least friends then, you wouldn't be acting like this. If you didn't give a damn then you wouldn't give a damn now. You said you didn't want to date, but you wanted me to be exclusive. You said you wanted me to talk to you and when I tried to do that you said it's none of your business. Talk about mixed signals," Keith said, crossing his arms again. "For all I know right now you want to f~ me under all this pissiness." There was always another side, wasn't there?

"F~ you!" That was the only kind of f~ing he wanted to give Keith right now. "You think you're so damn high, you can do whatever you want and I'll just fall at your feet? People want world peace, they want a million f~ing galleons, and they don't cry when they don't get it. You got me to say something I wanted and took off because you thought it'd be easier on me? Bullsh~. You didn't want me to explain, you wanted a reason to get out of it."

"I was fine how we were, why the hell would I want out of it? Are you seriously trying to tell me you'd have been just fine going on the way we were? That it wouldn't have eaten you up? If you had been fine the way we were you wouldn't have acted the way you did!" Keith challenged, uncrossing his arms to point a damning finger. "I didn't want to string you along."

"I've wanted crap my whole life and I didn't get it! Who the hell wants something and gets all f~ing eaten up over it? Spoiled f~ing kids and greedy a~holes, that's who. If it was f~ing eating me up, you wouldn't have had to f~ing drag it out of me when I was still half drunk!" All at once, Lyric reached out to smack that stupid finger out of the way, to grab Keith again, to get him out. He'd fought Jory for years, and he wasn't doing it with Keith. Keith had ended it, it was over.
