Keith had calmed over the past few months since school started, especially after reconnecting with his friends. He'd started dating a little, but his thoughts still returned to Lyric at times.
He had considered every so often getting in contact with Lyric again, just to check up on the man, but every time the thought had crossed his mind he had talked himself out of it. This time, the thought had come to him while already in Hogsmeade and he hadn't had the chance to talk himself out of it before finding himself in front of Lyric's shop. He hovered, debating for a few moments, before pushing open the door.

Lyric was in the dark room, poring over still-wet photographs of Lani Berwyn. It was a mess, he should just do the job and let it go, but when had he ever done what he should? He took a moment longer than necessary to straighten things when he heard the bell for the door. Whatever was interrupting this had better be good.
His sleeves were rolled up, hair tied back at the nape of his neck when he stepped into the shop, pulling the door shut behind him. It was already too late when he saw who'd walked in. His eyes darkened, and his mouth set, preparing a stream of profanity.

Keith ran a hand through his hair before sliding his hand back into his coat pocket. "Hi," he said. Well, he was here, what was he supposed to do now? "I was curious to see how you'd been." Now he was remembering how easy it had always been to fall into Lyric's arms. Okay, maybe this hadn't been the best idea, but it was too late to back out. Besides, he fell into anyone's arms quickly.

"None of your g~damn business," Lyric snapped. "What makes you think I shouldn't throw you out on your f~ing ass?" He should. It would feel so good to do it, to wrap his hands so tightly around Keith's arms that they'd leave bruises and push him out, watch him fall and slam the door behind him. His fingers flexed at the thought.

Keith shrugged. "I wouldn't blame you," he said. "I could have reacted quite a bit better, I know. I hadn't exactly been making the most intelligent decisions over the summer." In the process of making those decisions he had alienated his friends. He still didn't quite regret it, so to speak, but he wished he had done some things a little differently.

It was driving Lyric insane that Keith was acting so cool about this, so matter-of-fact. It rubbed in the fact that he'd been stupid thinking he might have meant something more to Keith than a f~ when the man couldn't find it somewhere else.
Lyric folded his arms across his chest. "Is that it?" he asked. "I've got better things to do than let former f~buddies make pity projects of me. Say something I don't already know, or get the f~ out."

"I'm sorry," Keith said, raising an eyebrow. Did Lyric know that one? "I shouldn't have left the way I did and I should have come to talk to you afterward to check in." After so long spending time together he shouldn't have left without making sure Lyric was okay. He took a couple of steps further into the room. "I'm not pitying you. I'm s~ at dealing with drama."

"You're the one who made f~ing drama of it," Lyric said. Whether or not he remembered getting wasted didn't have anything to do with Keith. It was Matthew who'd set him off, and as far as he was concerned, he and Matthew had made their peace.
"So what do you want," he asked. That was what this came down to. Did Keith want to f~? Lyric wasn't sure he was into it. He told himself that, anyway.

"I didn't make drama, or I didn't mean to, anyway," Keith said. "I was afraid that staying would cause more pain than leaving when I did, and I wasn't ready to talk, that's all on me. I just wanted to see how you're doing, like I said." So was he ready to talk now? When he'd tried to talk that last day they'd seen one another Lyric had claimed to not want to hear any of it, though the lack of talking on Keith's part had been one of Lyric's main complaints.

"F~ you, that's how I'm doing," Lyric said. He wanted to push Keith, to hurt him, but he didn't trust himself to move. He might start and just not stop. He spewed fire instead.
"You made it damn clear we weren't even friends anymore. I f~ed Skylar up a couple days later, then hung out with the guys and f~ed Dare in his own bed. He said my name as many times as I told him to."

Keith shifted uncomfortably and crossed his arms. "I thought it would be better if there was a clean break, but I should have talked to you about it." He parted his lips once, twice, before managing to speak again. "What did you do to Skylar?" It would be hypocritical to say anything about Lyric being with Dare, since he had done the same.

"Doesn't matter," Lyric said. "We're not friends, and he doesn't remember." Keith had shut down at the first mention of Skylar. It had been made very clear that it was none of his business, though Matthew had been annoying as hell in his insistence that Lyric keep 'working' on his and Keith's 'relationship.'
He couldn't even think about it. It hadn't made sense then, and it didn't make sense now. All it did was piss him off. "I don't owe you anything. If you're here to interview me, get out."

"You can't tell me you f~ed him up and not tell me what you did!" Keith insisted, his voice rising slightly. His brows came together over eyes that hardened briefly before he backed down and looked away. He raised a hand to rub his temples. Every time he thought he was fully over Skylar something would come up to prove him wrong, it was pathetic.

"Get out," Lyric said. "I can do what I want, when I want, with whoever I want, and you're no one to demand answers." He uncrossed his arms and headed toward Keith. If the man wouldn't move, he'd move him.

"Dude, I can demand answers if it's my ex," Keith said, looking up at Lyric. "I figure I kind of deserve to know what happened to the bastard." He couldn't help wanting to know, though he shouldn't give a damn. He wasn't going to back down, Lyric didn't scare him, at least not now. "Why'd you even f~ him up anyway?"
