There was a letter in his pocket that had been folded and unfolded so many times it threatened to fall into pieces when Michael went to see Kane. He didn't know what to think about it or do about it or if he should have thrown it in the fire like he wanted to in the first place. Not to mention the persistent lack of Dare that was driving him mad and frustration with therapy that felt like it was setting him back instead of moving him forward.
"So I have a letter from Emilian," he said once inside and seated. He pulled it out and unfolded it again to look at it. He could practically feel the tension in the words of the short note. "I heard about your predicament, if you need me, I'm here for you." Well, that was mostly what it said, with a little extra here and there.

Kane arched an eyebrow at that. "Do you think ulterior motives are likely?" he asked. He knew enough about Michael's past relationship with Emilian Sota to wonder, though it had been years since he'd heard Michael talk about the man.

"Last I heard about him, his body doesn't even work well enough anymore for him to have ulterior motives," Michael said, sighing heavily as he looked over the words again. "He's apparently in therapy, too. Apparently therapy is the next big thing, everyone's doing it or something."

Kane's lips curved in humor. "You were doing it before it was cool," he teased gently.
"So what do you think about seeing Emilian again? I can't imagine it would be easy, but he's part of some of the issues you're working through with Daniel, isn't he?"

Michael nodded, "Yes. We're working through things kind of like you and I talked about, but we're also talking about some of the death eater issues. Emilian was there the night I joined the ranks. He...he's an arse a lot of the time but sometimes he can be quite human and helpful."

"I haven't spoken with him since...well I don't really remember. I don't know how he feels about me right now. In the end, when I've needed help in the past and I've been alone, he's been there," Michael said. "I kind of want to see what he has to say. I just know it could be about anything."

"You might want to try meeting him in a public place, somewhere you can feel safe and easily leave if things take a turn for the worse," Kane suggested.

"That would probably be smart," Michael said, nodding and sitting back in the chair. "I can only imagine what Dare would say if I said I was considering going to talk with Emilian." Or maybe Dare wouldn't have anything to say about it and Michael was thinking too hard about the situation.

"We went to the British museum weekend before last," Michael said. "I'm going to invite him out again for this weekend. I haven't quite figured out what to ask him to, yet, but I'll figure it out, I guess. I want to...I want to touch him, just sit with him for a while."

"I want to stop doing that, I should never have let myself get talked into taking such an extreme route with it," Michael sad, bitterness seeping into his voice. "I want to take it back and make it so that Dare will hold my hand again."

"How much thought did you give to it before trying it out? I understand your frustration, but if you believed that it would be beneficial, then quitting will only negate the reason for all of this." Not to mention that Kane had trusted Daniel to take care of Michael where he couldn't.

"Not enough," Michael said. "I didn't think it would take so long, I didn't think it would mean absolutely no contact. I thought it would help, I thought it would help separate sex from us. That's what he told me it would do, that's what it's supposed to do. I hate not being able to touch him. I just need to talk to Dare about it, I guess."
