"It is not a huge house, but is big enough for all. There are four bedrooms, and one nursery, so I share only with two brothers. My oldest brother is married now and has his own house, and I have one brother and one sister at university. I am number five." He held up one hand, wiggling his thumb slightly. "So only one older brother is still in the house, and the other five are younger." If he was often quiet, it was likely because there was enough else going on that not being noticed for a while was nice.

"Wow," Jory said, shaking his head and sitting back in his seat. "Me and my brother both have our own bedroom. Going to school and living in a dorm room with five other guys was so weird." At least now he could take advantage of prefect privileges like a special common room and bathroom that were rarely full.

"Ah, I would be lonely," Hyacinth said, and chuckled at the thought. "I have a... ah, how you say in English? It is a bed with drawers beneath? I have enough. My brothers will miss me. Especially BĂ©nilde. He has seventeen years, and will now be alone at night with Castor! Castor is ten, and has too much energy. He likes to talk and when it is time for prayers, he will pray for everything to stay awake. Before I left, he prayed that my socks will not get holes."

Jory laughed lightly at that and shook his head gently. "That sounds like something Ant would do. Whenever I go home, I don't go home much anymore, he, like, tackles me the second I come in the door. Are you going to miss them? Or are you glad to be away for once?" That was something that varied widely from person to person.

"I will miss them very much," Hyacinth said. "My teacher told me This is adventure, Hyacinth. It will be good, but every day is adventure. I will miss baby sister's first words, and I will miss my parents. Why do you not go home much?" He intended to go home as much as possible. As soon as he could control his magic, perhaps he'd go home for good.

Jory shrugged and looked down at his hands. "I like being at school, especially Hogwarts. My family is really awesome and lets me be who I want to be, but it's nice to be away from home and be my own person. I've learned so much being away at school, and this just means that when I'm at home it's all the more special."

"That is wise," Hyacinth said. "My oldest brother, he was eager for university. He left when I was very young, but I remember he was very happy." The kitten had tired of playing, and Hyacinth laid down his hoodie to make a nest, placing her gently in the middle. He smiled as the she stretched, then curled up into a ball and closed her eyes.

"Oh my gosh, you have to name her!" Jory said, his eyes wide as he gestured to the kitten. How had Hyacinth gone so long without doing so? "The girls in your dorm are going to be so jealous of her, you know that, right?" So would all the other cat lovers, he was sure.

Hyacinth blushed a soft rose as he looked down at the kitten. He wasn't at all sure what to say about girls being jealous, but she did need a name, so he focused on that. "I do not know a name for her," he said, keeping his eyes low and focused on the already-sleeping feline. "I have never given a name." He looked at her, as though a name would suddenly occur to him, but those he thought of were names of people he knew.

"Hmm. Well, what does she look like to you? I mean, a lot of people would go with something cheesy like Fluffy but that's way too easy," Jory said, tilting his head down at the little ball of fluff barely moving with her light breaths. He had rarely named the various animals he had brought home, knowing that his mum would insist on releasing them soon enough.

"She looks like a cat," Hyacinth said jokingly. And yes, she looked fluffy. That would have been his answer if Jory hadn't gone on. "Maybe I name her after a virtue? Hope or Faith? She is tiny and cute. I call her Mignon?" He looked up at Jory. "What name should I give her, maybe?" He hoped Jory had some ideas, because he had nothing, really.

"I don't know, but if you go with Faith or Hope or something like that, you'll have like twenty animals coming after you," Jory said. "They're pretty common. Something that means similar stuff but isn't so common, though, maybe?" If he knew more about Catholic mythology, he might have been better able to give options.

"Ah," Hyacinth said. "Yes, this is true." He gave it some thought as he looked at the kitten. "Remiel is the angel of hope," he suggested. "He is a Watcher and angel of hope and divine visions. The kitten is part kneazle, and will also be a Watcher, yes?" Remiel seemed much less likely to summon the pets of others. At least, he hoped it wasn't common. Wizards did have odd names.

"Yeah," Jory said. "I think that would be a good one." Divine visions. He had never been educated in religion, it had always been more of an underlying assumed thing in his house. "What's the difference between a divine vision and a regular one?" he asked, looking up at Hyacinth.

"Divine is... with God. Because of God. For God. I am not sure of the words. God set Remiel to watch over the dead, and guides souls to Heaven." He didn't know what would be considered a regular vision, though. He hoped that his explanation had at least helped. "Did I use a word wrong?" he asked.
