Dare's eyes widened, and he looked at Keith through his fringe as though he could see the truth of it. "No sh~," he said. "What do you do, just sit around and talk about what gets you hot?" It was an innocent question, as odd as it might sound, but Dare was too interested in the topic to wonder if he could have phrased it differently.

Keith laughed again and shook his head. "Not normally. Most of the time it's just dressing up and seeing if you can find someone that...fits with you. We didn't make a habit of going to clubs just for sex, usually it's just so that we can go somewhere in public, so to speak, where we can dress however we want and be what we want for a few hours." It was always fun, something he had tried to show Rowan and failed.

"So the meetings are for like, hooking up?" Dare couldn't even imagine that. But then, he'd only ever been with Michael, and before that he'd made a point of waiting. He was still glad he'd saved it all for Michael, but in his restlessness, it seemed like he'd missed so much.

"Sometimes?" Keith didn't want to make a blanket statement about it. "I mean, I'm not much of a fan of one night stands, so it's not like I made a point to go out and go home with someone. On the other hand, bondage or whatever isn't the same as vanilla sex. It's weird, but it's like..." He took a breath and tried to come up with some example. "Like me and Matthew almost never kissed." There was an entirely different level he saved for the ones he dated.

This is a post which glosses over potentially-interesting stuff that would probably break the PG-13 rule. Feel free to imagine it yourself.
Dare blinked. He couldn't even imagine that. Even when he and Michael had bypassed romance and gone straight to the point, the kiss was a connection they needed. He had a lot of questions, about the intimacy of it, about comparing it to vanilla sex, which was pretty much all he and Michael did, about the culture. He could have sat with Keith for hours just pumping him for information, and though he tried to rein in his curiosity, it was a difficult task. In the end, he couldn't ask everything he wanted to know, some because he didn't know Keith well enough to ask, and some because he was excited enough without asking for details.

Keith was more than happy to answer any questions Dare had, it was such a freedom for him that he was always willing to share with someone else. Dare's curiosity both amused him and excited him, and by the end of their little talk he was facing Dare, legs crossed on the desk. "And you know, if you ever want to talk or something, ask some more questions, see some stuff, whatever, you can come by whenever. You can bring Michael, too, if you want."

"Sweet," Dare said, grinning. He so wished he could get Michael into something like that, but the most adventurous things they'd done were that one time at the club, and going into the shower instead of the bedroom. "We should hang out some time," he went on. "I don't know about Michael, he's one of those people who'd rather stay home and everything, but damn, I haven't had this much fun in a while." It didn't occur to Dare just how much he was saying about his home life with that.

Keith raised an eyebrow at that announcement. "Seriously? If the most fun you've had lately is sitting around talking about this, you need to fix something," he said. Sure, he liked staying at home, but considering what staying at home usually meant he supposed it probably wasn't exactly the same. "Not to say anything bad about Michael," he added.

Dare grimaced when he caught on. "It's kind of rough right now," he admitted. Kind of? Michael had been crazy hot just a month or two ago, and now he could hardly stand being touched. Apparently everything was tender, not to mention how hard it was to find any way to move that Michael could still breathe. All his husband wanted to talk about was the baby, and Dare was walking on eggshells trying not to trigger a mood swing.

Keith tilted his head, "What's up? If you don't mind me asking." He didn't want to dig in too deep, but they had already passed that line long before, and then done it again during the last conversation. Maybe he didn't see much reason not to push, though, especially since Dare had yet to push him away or tell him to stop.

Another slight grimace passed over Dare's face at the question. "He's just... not into it. Has a lot on his mind, and..." Dare took a breath and looked back toward the window. "I'm pretty much on my own." He hoped that Keith would misinterpret, that he wouldn't catch exactly what Dare was referring to. Yes, part of him wanted desperately to talk about it, but he'd been keeping everything to himself for years, and surely, I'm sexually frustrated and needed to talk to someone who wouldn't remind me that it's my own damn fault wouldn't make Michael okay with it.

Considering the context of their conversation so far, it was easy to catch. "Really? Yeah, I'd be talking to him about that." No matter whatever was on his mind, Keith didn't think he would be able to accept that if he was in a relationship. Sure, he could work with whoever he was with, but the physical stuff was incredibly important to him.

"He's... sick," Dare claimed, hating the lie. Still, it was as close as he could get without saying what the problem really was. "He's been sick for a while, and it's not going to end until probably August." Or July. He was hoping July. He was wishing June, no matter how bad he might feel for doing so. "Apparently he feels like crap all the time, so I can't even be mad at him."

Keith raised an eyebrow at the explanation. "You have a timeline for him being sick?" he asked, trying to come up with some illness that worked on a schedule. "Isn't there anything you can do to get him better?" Were there any sicknesses magic didn't have a cure for? Not that he could think of, except being a werewolf, and that was entirely different. But it did work on a schedule...

"It's rare," Dare said. "Like, the Healer had to search St. Mungo's for a book on it." That much was true. "Our anniversary is at the end of June, and I'm wishing..." He stopped himself. He was wishing more and more that he hadn't agreed to this. Yes, he remembered how happy Michael had been when he'd said yes, and he remembered how amazing it had all been at first, but he'd never thought it would put so much distance between them.
