Dare had seen more sullen faces in class than he'd seen all year, likely due to the end of winter break. Kids were half-asleep at their desks and he'd gotten some shoddy projects turned in, but couldn't say he blamed them. It had been one hell of a holiday.
His father and Michael's mother had probably been as eager to leave as they'd been to have their home back. He'd been so exhausted that he'd only waken up once the night before, and getting a snack had been enough to send him back to sleep in under an hour. Thank all that was good in the world that things could get back to normal. But first, he had to get ready for his next class.

Sure, there were classes to get ready for on both sides, but Michael didn't want to wait for a break period or lunch or even, horrid thought, the end of the school day. He gave a short knock before letting himself into Dare's office. "You're not busy, are you?" he asked as he pulled the door shut behind him. No, Dare wouldn't be busy, it wasn't like he had a class starting in a few minutes.

Dare looked up from the box of projects on his desk, and his lips curved. "I have a few minutes," he said. Without looking at his watch, he'd guess there were ten or fifteen minutes until he usually opened his door, but he'd spare them all for Michael. It wouldn't matter if he took a little class time getting things together, all things considered. "What's up?"

Michael's hand hovered on the door handle as he flipped the lock before coming in to round the desk. "Just wanted to spend a few minutes with my husband," he said, leaning back against the desk. He knew just how he wanted to spend those minutes, too, but he wasn't quite sure just yet how to say what he wanted. It wasn't exactly a normal request to spend that kind of time with him in the office fifteen minutes before class started.

Dare's smile remained as he grabbed hold of the box, then turned away from Michael. "That's all we've got if you're going to make it back to your classroom in time," he pointed out. He squatted to set the box down out of the way, robes flaring open with the motion. He still couldn't bring himself to button up entirely and knew there were other professors who at least questioned his appearance. Not that it mattered. "How's your day been? Are your students as out of it as mine?"

Michael shrugged, "Probably, but honestly I kind of stopped noticing. I was really just wanting to come see you." It had been a distracting urge and it just couldn't wait any longer. He debated for a second before deciding there wasn't any reason to keep himself from contact when he could easily step over and run his fingers through Dare's hair. "Stand up," he said. "Give me a kiss." His lips curved slightly as his mind raced forward.

Dare looked up at Michael, his smile widening as he pushed to his feet. "I love you, too," he said, the request translating to the words in his mind. He slid his arms lightly around Michael and leaned down for a light kiss, all they really shared outside their tower. "Long day, or what?" he asked, opening his eyes again to look at his husband.

Michael shrugged again and slid his arms beneath Dare's open robes to pull him close. "That wasn't a kiss," he said, barely sparing a moment to search Dare's eyes before he pressed his lips to Dare's again, for a real kiss this time. The door was locked, so they would have at least a little warning if anyone insisted on getting inside. He wanted a kiss. At least.

Dare gave a low, short-lived hum of surprise in the moments before his lips parted. He certainly hadn't expected this, but what could it hurt to share a stolen kiss between classes? If it got his blood running, he'd just look forward to the end of the day that much more. His arms moved further around Michael, but he kept purposeful control. He couldn't let himself forget that class started soon, no matter how much fun he was having bending the rules.

Michael thought they had plenty of time to do whatever they wanted, and if the students had to wait an extra few minutes, they would be fine, it wasn't like they never showed up late to class. But Dare was holding back control, Michael could feel it. He slid his hands down and around to Dare's hips to pull them against each other.

Dare's brows drew together at the sensation, and barely more than a heartbeat passed before he forced himself to break the kiss, breathless against Michael's lips. "I want you," he murmured. "We've gotta stop." It pained him to say it, but Michael couldn't know what he was doing to him. He was already missing out on his afternoon bathroom break, and this wasn't going to help any.

Michael's eyes opened reluctantly and hovered on Dare's lips before bringing them up to his eyes. "We have time, just a quick one," he said, already hazy eyes nearly begging. He couldn't explain why he wanted...or was it needed? this so badly now, but it had gotten steadily worse over the past couple of days and he wasn't about to willingly make himself wait it out if he could help it.

Dare was completely thrown by Michael's response. Just a quick one. Had the two of them ever just had a quick one before? Maybe he'd asked a couple times, but it had always ended with Michael saying they'd have more fun later. He wasn't about to make that claim, but right now they just couldn't. "Class is in like..." Dare had no clue, but it was "Soon." The look in Michael's eyes was killing him.

"It's getting sooner every minute," Michael pointed out. The more time they wasted the less time they would have to do anything. And he just wanted something, anything to make the rest of the day bearable. He tilted his head to whisper possibilities in Dare's ear, keeping hat insistent pressure on their hips. The longer they talked the less time they would have.

Dare's eyes slid closed, and he exhaled a long, shaky breath. He wanted to argue, but Michael was making it so hard to think, let alone come up with an argument. Why was he arguing, again? Ten minutes, he reminded himself. "We shouldn't," was the best he could come up with, though his mind was already giving up.
