Chase's sneer deepened, and his eyes narrowed dangerously, the flames within roaring with long-repressed emotions he refused to look at. "Tell me, Storm," he began, his tone matter-of-fact, but edged with so much hidden hurt and fury that it was palpable between them, "What ever gave you the idea that stringing me along for months, that getting me panting along in your wake, desperate to please you, getting so close that I nearly felt worth the air I breathed, then telling me we were nothing and walking away, helped? What about that says that I wasn't a toy? Isn't that what you accused me of seeing you as?"
It was more than he'd likely ever said at once, but over the years, he'd been forced to speak of things he could hardly pull into cohesive thoughts, let alone words, to explain things that needed no explanations. He'd always been accused of being thoughtless simply because he had the presence of mind to hold to himself those things others could use against him.

Storm took a step back from him, what was going on in his mind. She looked to the side as he spoke, gathering her thoughts as he spoke a shiver running down her spine. "Stringing you along?!?!" She was bewildered to say the least. "You have got to be kidding me! While I stuck to you and only you. You were out there playing with all the other toys." Her voice was firm, but not angry. Storm didn't understand how he could be hurt. She was another girl on his long list, how could her leaving have hurt him?!?! "Excuse me for thinking I was just another one of them. I'm sure someone like you could easily find another thing to play with." well it looked like he did find that other toy, only this one had a ring on her finger.
Turning around she grit her teeth, what was Chase accusing her of? "Yes, I thought I helped, you know made things easier when it came to deciding." but obviously it looked like she was the bad guy.... great.

Chase's anger only expanded, filling his veins as he looked at Storm, feeling himself being pulled into her mind games all over again. He rebelled, his jaw tensing with the effort of not doing anything he'd regret, despite the fact that she'd turned away from him. Again.
"How many times and in how many ways did I need to say it?" he demanded. A heartbeat and he'd caught her arm, determined that she look at him, that if she wanted this out, she see the truth in his eyes. "I talked to you when I didn't talk to anyone else. I wasn't even with Dru when you pushed me away! And you took me to the f~ing forest to do it!" How often did he lose his temper anymore? He didn't know, but the thought couldn't stop what had begun.
"You took me to the forest like all the rest of them, played your mind games, got me half begging, and left, why? Because I wouldn't say the words?" He let her go roughly. "Just like all the rest of them," he spat. He shook his head and took a step back.

Storm felt her arm being caught, she turned to look at him. Her eyes hardened, but the look in his eyes made her... cower. He wasn't hurting her, not yet at least, but she couldn't pull her arm away. Not with the way she was feeling. Her breaths were shorter, almost pants and she couldn't move. Glued to the ground, unable to respond. For once in a very long time Storm couldn't respond, couldn't think. 'Just like all the rest of them,". Who was them? What was he going on about.
Storm watched him step back, her hands at her sides and her lips parted open to speak, but there was nothing. "What game, what words?" her voice was small, losing all firmness it had before. She was confused, bewildered and... scared of him. But why?

"You were always so good at playing the innocent," Chase went on. She was doing it now, with her wide grey eyes and that perfect pout, as though she didn't have a clue. "You know, so stop pretending! I was always a game to you, and you left me in the forest like the others. You left because I wouldn't admit I cared, the same as Dru did, left because knowing wasn't enough. No, you have to rub my face in it, to own me completely or apparently it's not enough."
He turned away from her now, unable to keep looking at the false hurt in her eyes. She'd had him fooled completely before, and he was as determined as he'd been the moment she'd left that it wouldn't happen again. He wouldn't have taken Dru back for what she'd done, but he'd been lonely and she'd practically begged him. There had been no one else, and if Storm hadn't pushed him away, there wouldn't have been anyone else. He'd gotten it out of his system first, before he'd gone to her. He wouldn't have thrown her aside, and just the fact that she kept insisting she'd been nothing showed him how much of a liar she still was.

She shook her head, everything was always him. He was the one who was hurt, he was the one who was played with. Was that all he ever believed that it was all him. "For once in your life Chase, get your head out of your ass and see that you're not the only one in this world being hurt." why was he so blind! Yes, maybe she was selfish to wanting him all to herself, but isn't that what most people wanted? "You were never a game Chase! How many times do I have to tell you that? There were no others, there was no game. What the f*ck are you getting at!"
Storm just wanted him to explain. She was completely clueless as to who these other people he keep referring to. Was he talking about Emilian? Emilian was a one time thing, and they had completely gotten over that. "Are you going on about Emilian?" if that was it, then why was he so bent out of shape about that guy. That chapter was done and over with!

She was trying to confuse him, and Chase refused to fall into whatever trap she was laying. He half turned to glare at her, more violent feelings than he knew how to cope with bubbling up to suffocate him. "You told me once I wasn't a game," he growled, "and then you left me, telling me I didn't know you, that all we were was sex, when you know what a lie that was. What the f~ are you bringing Emilian into it anyway? Tell me there were no others, then throw him in my face? What the hell, Storm!"
He walked away, anything to get her out of arms' reach when he didn't know what he'd do with her if he broke. "Tell me how you and your friends would trick guys into the forest and tease them and leave them there, do the same to me, and stand here acting like you've got no clue? You should be an actress, Storm, you look damned serious for someone who's talking out of her ass."

Would she have to gulp down a mouthful of truth serum or something, no she wouldn't do that. If she was going to get him to believe her, she would do it on her own. "Yes, a bunch of stuck up pureblood girls did that for fun, and I do recall telling you I never took part in that crap! You think I enjoy playing with peoples minds when I had to deal with someone playing with my own mind." what the hell was he going on about! Storm was gritting her teeth. "So this isn't about Emilian, this is about some group of imaginary guys you made up. Wow Chase, know you have to make some nuts up so that I look like I f*cked up. Good job.' obvious sarcasm, but she had just as much of a right to be as mad as him.

"F~ you," Chase spat, turning back to face her now that they were at a safe distance. "You're the one making sh~ up, I know what happened!" And he wasn't going to waste his breath explaining when she was just going to twist his words and continuously jab him with what she'd done with Emilian.
"Think whatever the hell you want. Is this what you came for? To remind me how much you hate me? If it is, you can leave. I've got enough reminders what a disappointment I am without one more."

Storm flinched, her jaw was clenched so tightly she wasn't going to leave until this was settled, yes she was going to be as stubborn and she was not backing out. She messed up once and she wasn't going to mess up again. "Making nuts up, yes because I'm the one with imaginary guys." she was done with all this arguing it was getting no where. "What do I have to do to make you see that none of it was a game?" she wasn't going to turn away, she wasn't here to get back with him or anything, she was here to see him, but apparently there was some other stuff going through his mind and she had no clue what it was!

"It's too late, Storm," Chase said, cutting through the bullsh~ to the bottom line. "Whatever you want here, it's too late for it. It's been something like two years, and you told me in no uncertain terms that nothing was ever going to happen. If you're here for morbid curiosity, you've answered your questions."

Storm shook her head, she wasn't here to patch things up, she wasn't even sure how they ended up fighting like this. "Is that why you think I'm here. To poke and prod trying to figure out how you felt so I can go home and laugh about all the damage I supposedly did." she wasn't going to get on her knees and beg for him to take her back, but part of her wanted to understand.
Why couldn't he think something along the lines that she came here just to see him. That all she wanted was to maybe ask about how he was, how life was treating him, but all she got was being spat on the face. "I'm not pretending, or playing some stupid games. I never needed that sh*t and I sure as hell don't need it now. Why can't you understand that?" her voice was firm, all sorts of emotions thrown in a jumbled and confused mess. "What do you expect for me? For me to grovel at your feet and tell you I'm sorry? Sorry for what Chase? For leaving you? I'm sorry I tried to make things easier for you! I'm sorry I wanted out because I felt it would do us both good and I'm f*cking sorry I actually thought that I could actually be with someone without having to rise to some insane expectation." screw this, she had built a life for herself, a lonely life, but she took control of her own life now and she wasn't going to let Chase walk all over her because he was too busy convincing himself that she was some sort of conniving devious succubus of some sort.

"Get out," Chase said, his voice hard and cold where it had been heated with anger before. "Get out of my office, and if you don't have any business here, get out of my school. I don't know what the hell you're doing here, but I'm not listening to this bullsh~ so just leave, the door's that way." He pointed, and his jaw set firmly. No matter what he said, no matter how he tried to explain himself, the game just continued for her. She kept throwing bits of what he'd said back, magnifying and twisting it, and there was no reason to do this.

"No." She was not going to leave with him so angry at her, and for what? For this mess of a conversation that she barely understood. Storm sat down on the chair, crossing her legs. "I'm not leaving until this is cleared up. No more, I have no clue what you are going on about and I doubt you even get what I'm saying." or he was misunderstanding. What did he want her to do, list out everything he was saying and then explain with her on her knees begging for him to forgive her.

Chase's eyes blazed, and his brows drew together into a fierce look that had sent students fleeing from his path. No one defied him anymore. Not students, not faculty, not Dru or Carolynn, though the latter wasn't always pleased with his decisions. But she knew her place.
"What the hell do you think is going to change if you stay?" he demanded. "I've said everything I have to say, and if you don't understand, you're not going to. Leave." He left the rest unspoken. Leave... or I'll make you leave.
