Dominic shook Ani's hand with confidence, her hand was icy cold to the touch while his was very warm and kind of sweaty. He chuckled to himself. Polar opposites. Well they do say opposites attract. Sometimes.
"It's very nice to meet you, Ani. You don't have to take the rose," He said, still offering the rose to her. "But you should know, it's not an ordinary rose; it's like a mood ring, changing colors deflecting people's moods."
He pursed his lips, letting it all sink in. He didn't want to go too too fast with Ani, but he learned early on, if you didn't go fast before you knew it, they'd be taken by someone else.
He touched her, smiling a crooked smile. "I won't hurt you, I'm like a lion, good looks but I'm a total lazy butt; and i like my women independent." He didn't mean to sound like a player, he just hoped she'd take it as a metaphor and nothing else.

Dominic's hand was warm compared to hers. She'd never realized she had cold hands. She shivered slightly. This could potentually skew her veiws on the rest of her life. She didn't like the gigantic change that would be for her and decided to ignore the cold hand fact.
"It's very nice to meet you, Ani. You don't have to take the rose," He said, still offering the rose to her. "But you should know, it's not an ordinary rose; it's like a mood ring, changing colors deflecting people's moods."
Ani had never had a mood changing rose before. She wasn't even sure there was magic to do that to a rose. it would be something very neat to have and she could put it by the yellow daffodils she kept by her bed. And that made up her desicion. She was reaching for the rose when he touched her shoulder.
"I won't hurt you, I'm like a lion, good looks but I'm a total lazy butt; and I like my women independent."
Ani froze. This boy was a player. He thought he was going to get her. Everyone knows that lions mate with every female in their pride. Everyone knows. Dominic was jsut adding her to his pride. Ani frown pulled back her hand and stepped out of his reach.
"Perhaps, you should go give that to another one of your conquests. Hmmm?"

"Perhaps, you should go give that to another one of your conquests. Hmmm?"
Dominic backed up as Ani did, though he was very confused. Then he understood. God why was he so stupid?
"Conquests? What are you talking about? I'm not a player, i swear to God. I just...that was the wrong metaphor to use. You can hate me. I'm so sorry." He was spluttering like an idiot. "God, why am I such an idiot?" He watched the rose as he was trying to take back what he had said. It was starting to hue blue and wilt.

Ani almost smiled. Dominic was spluttering again. It was probably her favorite thing about him. It was easy to make him do it, and Ani resolved that if she was ever going to speak to him again she would do it once everyday.
But she wasn't buying his words. Every boy could claim they weren't a player. Anyone could say he was the next Dark Lord. But no one was. Any one could say they were half cat, didn't mean that was true.
Ani glared at Dominic. She could see the rose start to wilt in his hands and she snatched it from him. She didn't forgive him. Not by a long shot but she certainly wasn't going to let the poor flower wilt. In her hands it turned a bright orange angry color.

Dom sighed. He could see Ani wasn't going to forgive him, and the rose was now orange since she had snatched it from him, which meant she was angry, no infuriated.
"Please Ani, you probably don't believe me but i am sorry." He got on his knees and groveled at her feet. He wasn't prepared on letting her get away, and she wasn't going anywhere so this was his chance.

The flower instantly changed to yellow surprise as Dominic got on his knees. He was going to grovel just to get back into her good graces. What was driving this boy? Hormones?
Ani had never experience such determination. Usually people just walked away and sent her gifts or something. They'd never begged. It was an interesting expericence.
Ani glanced wairly around. Good there was no one. This could be very bad. People might actually thinking she was running some sort of gang deal. With a boy begging at her feet she could be part of the Mafia. He could owe her money and that was one rumor Chris did not need.
"Get up." She hissed even though her anger ws fading.

Dominic stood when Ani told him to. He wrung out his suddenly sweaty palms. The rose was now yellow. Dom chuckled. Something told him he startled Ani when he got on his knees, maybe that was going a little far.
He saluted. "Yes ma'am." He smiled, hoping she would eventually forgive him.

Ani scrunched her face in an attempt not to laugh. Peopl had saluted her before but it wasn't quite as funny as when Dom did it. She let loose a small giggle and prayed he didn't hear it.

He smiled, a bigger one than the last time. "You know, you are awfully cute."

Ani flushed. And there he was coming on to her again. She knew she should be offended since he thought a flower and some kind words wre going to win her over but instead to her deep regret she was flattered.
An older boy was hitting on her. And he was cute. That was a plus side. She felt though that Dominic was still a bit of a player. She was going to have to test him
"You're not so bad looking yourself." Ani flirted.

Dom chuckled. He was far from "good looking" to him anyway, he was a spitting image of his father. Or so people told him.
"Why thanks, but you're cuter."

Ani bit her lip and fluttered her eyes. Inside she felt like vomiting but it was nessicary to see what Dominic's motives were. If he ignored how incredibly fake she was being then he wanted some. If he didn't freak out then he was a player. And if he noticed and said something or politely excused him self then obviously he wasn't so bad.
"I bet you say that to all the girls." Ani dragged her finger down his arm. "Don't worry tiger. I'm yours."

He looked at her, hard. "You still think i'm a player, do you? Well, as a matter of a fact none of those other girls matter to me. Only you do. And if you can't accept that then...forget this!" He stomped away and began to calm himself down. Inhale. Exhale. It was important he did this, he was suffering from severe anger management ever since...he shuttered. Not the right place or time to bring that up.
After he was completely calmed down, he walked back to where Ani was still standing, like a statue. "I'm sorry about that. But just to let you know, I don't plan on leaving so you can cut the act."

Ani was stunned. She had sort of meant to anger but that was a rage fit. Maybe she should be more careful. He had more experience in magical fighting then she did. It was just a year more but more nontheless.
Ani flinched when he came back at her. Maybe he was going to hit her. She'd been hit in the past by people she'd angered. No one repeated the gesture after she got her revenge but that didn't mean if hadn't hurt.
He said something but she wasn't listening. She was watching his hands warily. She'd taken defense classes. SHe could probably hurt him if she had too. But he was larger and more muscular.

Dom watched Ani's eyes, then looked at the rose. It flecked green, which meant Ani must be scared. Dom lowered his defenses, completely zen.
"I told you, I'm not going to hurt you. I'm sorry." He looked down, ashamed. He hated when he exploded like that.
