Ani coughed, inhaling dust, as she pulled an old dusty book down from the old dusty shelf. She hated the library. It was dark moldy and completly over-rated.
She didn't mind reading but she'd rather be doing something with her friends. Maybe Lily would be around. Of course Lily had O.W.Ls to deal with and maybe Lily would be too busy. And Ani shouldn't bother her.
Instead she sighed. She was only here because she needed to check something for Taylor. Poor dear was already starting to study for N.E.W.Ts. And those were in seventh year. Ani loved her friend but sometimes that girl needed a life.
Ani slipped the book under her arm and trooped off winding her way through the bookshelves trying to find a chair. She wasn't going to find it. And she knew it. But oh well.

Dominic stirred around in the library. Stupid Professors, always telling him what to do. Just like his father did at home. Whether it was "clean your room" or "do the dishes" it was always a demand. Now it was "go look up a book for Re'em blood for potions class or i'll dock your house points Sahvil." Jeez. At least Professors were avoidable. This assignment, however was not
Now he was thumbing through shelves, desperate to find this darn book. He negotiated with a third year to do his assignment for him as long as he got the book. And that annoyed him, things for him were never easy.
After what seemed like forever he couldn't find what he was looking for on the first floor. He rolled his eyes and headed towards the stairs, but what he didn't know was the rug was coming up at the seams so, being the clumsy guy he was he tripped as another girl was coming down the stairs...

OOC: Ani never went down the stairs. But I guess...
IC: Ani clicked down the stairs in her black high heels. Her head was down as she stared at the book. It was ridculous. Thick black leather bound the cover and the pages were uneven and rough at the edges.
Something made a noise and Ani looked up in time to see a mop of blinde hair crash to the floor in front of her. She blinked. There was a boy sprawled on the floor. She was startled.
"Hey." Ani bent down. "Are you okay?"

OOC: crap! i'm sorry i was so out of it yesterday. .-.
IC:Dominic scowled, pounding his fists on the carpet. If he was absolutely lucky no one would have seen that. "Hey are you okay?" He looked up and sighed, defeated. There before him was a breathtaking young girl, about a sixth year? He gapped his mouth like a fish. "Uh, buh, um, the, i....whaaa?" What an idiot.

Ani watched the boy splutter for a couple minutes. He was sort of handsome. He was blonde but it didn't look like he was particularly dumb. Ani hated that sterotype anyway. His eyes had a glitter in them that made Ani think he might be a bit of a trouble maker. Ani thought maybe she could give him a run for his money. He was wearing canary yellow and black which meant he was a Hufflepuff. But he was seventh year which explained why Ani didn't know him.
"You should get off the floor." Ani suggested rasing an eyebrow and offering the boy a hand. "We could cause a collision or something."

Dominic smiled sheepishly. "That sounds like a good idea." He took the girl's outreached hand. "I'm Dominic by the way. I'm kind of new here."

Ani took Dominic's hand and pulled him to a stand. He was taller then her. Not many boys could pull that off. She let go of him but led the way to small cove. There weren't any chairs to sit on but at least they'd be out of the way.
Ani leaned against the wall and crossed her arms, the book hanging from her hand. She put on a slightly disinterested look and started to quiz Dominic.
"So how new are you? And where did you come from?"

Dominic ran hand through his hair, making it more messy than it already was. He leaned against the wall casually and looked into the girl's eyes. Pretty. Dominant. Yes, they might get along.
"Well, I arrived not too long ago so you could say that I am new. I come from the States; you ever hear about California? I love it there." He smiled a dashing smile that usually won people over, hoping he'd win her over too.

"Well, I arrived not too long ago so you could say that I am new. I come from the States; you ever hear about California? I love it there." Dominic smiled at Ani.
Ani blinked. He had a very nice smile. And she almost decided he was alright but her natural suspision and her logic won over the charming grin. Many people had good looks but most were spoiled. And rude.
"Of course I know about California. L.A. Hollywood, Death Valley. Are you suggesting I'm ignorant?" The best defense is offense. Ani wanted to see how this boy was before she decided whether or not to be friends with him. As always.

Dominic blinked. "No no, of course not, why would i suggest that you're ignorant? I just meant...nevermind." He looked down at the ground. Apparently his smile had not won her over...yet.

There was something about the way the boy fumbled about made him seem all the cuter. Ani liked making him splutter. It was a nice change from other boys who pretended to be superior. Ani hated people who assumed they were better then someone else. Even though sometimes she assumed she was better then some one else.
"Why'd you choose to come to Hogwarts? I'm sure there are other Magical Schools in America."

"Magical Schools in America"? Dominic laughed, if only if only.
"No, actually. See my mom is a pure-blooded while my dad is...not exactly a muggle, but you get the idea. She wanted me to learn some spells and put them to good use, but i think its because she wants me out of her hair." He chuckled. "I mean, if you can do this I guess that shows you're gifted right?"
He whispered a charm, (something his uncle taught him one day) and he pulled a rose out from behind his back, handing it to Ani.
"I hope you like roses, I only give them to girls I like."

Ani blushed slightly. Well Dominic was certainly forward. But he was probably just a player. Or mayve he couldn't get a girlfriend his age so he chose to prey on younger girls. Ani almost hated her cynical side but it had kept her out of trouble.
Ani quirked an eyebrow and said slightly cold, "Then I suggest you give to a girl who's name you actually know."
Ani meant to sound cold but she was secretly thrilled about the rose.

Dominic was taken aback by the girl's snide remark, but he shook it off and his lips curved a tiny bit.
"Well maybe you should tell me your name, then you can keep the rose as a token of our acquaintance-ship."
Dominic cringed. He didn't mean to sound so lame and cheesy, but he really did like Ani already. She was someone he wanted to get to know; and start a relationship.
Whoa there fella, he told himself. Don't get ahead, just figure out her name and go from there.

"I'm Ani Kiadori." She stuck out her hand for a shake secretly debating taking the rose.
Dominic was overly excited to get to know her. That meant he wanted some or he wanted the social status that came with having someone to date. The fact that he didn't have girlfriend when he was charming and handsome suggested he wasn't a very boyfriend. He could be abusive, clingy, or generally phsyco.
If Ani took the rose, it would be an opening to a relationship. That Ani might not want depending on how Dominic was as a boyfriend. Of course if she didn't take the rose, he might pester her until she did.
